Back in 2000, my child attended Ken-Crest NE and when choosing a kindergarten school for my child I chose a charter school. I was told by administraiton (names withheld) that my child would not academically achieve and that I was being selfish and self-centered by putting him in an all inclusive classroom. At the time he had an IEP. Well...long story short....he had an IEP up until 2nd grade, went to a 504 and then no pullouts ever after. He is now a freshman in high school who is taking college prep classes and now his teachers are recommending he take Honors classes because his lowest score on his report card is a 93! My advise to the administration don't label a kid too quickly. If I would have listened he would have been in life skills classes which you would have recommended.
