Leonoros Spaghetti House

Leonoro's is by far the very best Italian food available in Charleston, West Virginia. Having eaten at Fazio's, Olive Garden, Soho's and Gratzi I would say that this place is the best - my own personal favorite.

Wonderful all beef meatballs, slow cooked dark red spaghetti sauce, fresh bread and butter (toasted) and a homemade "house" dressing that is delicious.

This restaurant is a family owned eatery that has been in Charleston for many, many years and has been located in several places over the years. The restaurant has been passed down from generation to generation and the food is as good today as it was thirty years ago.

Some people consider the East End a high crime area, however, overall Charleston has an equal crime rate in any part of the city - from the East End to South Hills -- a very low crime rate when compared to other states - 2nd lowest crime rate in the country.

They advertise the best Italian food in the state, but I think they are bragging a little. Their food is good, but I have eaten Italian food I liked more in this state. Their menu is limited, portions are large, but I found the pasta a little watery. They are in what is now a very bad section of town, and the parking is almost impossible. It is far from one of my favorites, and I go there very seldom. They have been in business for many years though; so it is obviously popular with many people. Service is average.
