Spa Velia

I regulary go for facials (one a month) and after receiving a gift card to Spa Velia I thought I would try it out. The facilities were nice although a little tight and contained for me. I love spa's that have the open air about them and while it was somewhat relaxing, Spa Velia was a little too crammed for my style.

I made an appointment for what I thought was a normal facial. It started out fine. Washing, extractions etc. After that, my therapist informed me she was going to put a mask on my face and informed me it may tingle. Um...it did everything but that! It BURNED!!! It burned to a point that I felt like my skin was falling off. I told her it was burning and she started fanning my face with her hands????

I am in my mid-20s and have always taken good care of my skin, so there wasn't a reason for something to hurt so much. I should have gone with my first instinct and booked a massage!!!

I was experiencing a few problems with my skin. The cohabitation of pimples and wrinkles was extremely frustrating. The estheticians at Spa Velia were very professional and gave me sound advice and guidance. After just two facials my skin is showing great progress. No more breakouts and my laugh lines are less pronounced.

I can't comment on any other service as I haven't had any.

Hey yall. I moved from Los Angeles a few months ago. I tried this salon and had a very wonderful expereince. The staff were friendly and attentive. The stylist who washed my hair did a very very nice job.
Would gladly recomend this alosn to any So Cal Trojans!

Meiko is the best! The staff is very friendly. If you are looking for a great massage, you need to go and see Meiko.

I was in SD for business and had a massage and facial at Spa Velia. The experience was heaven. My technician was professional and anticipated my needs before I could ask. The spa itself is a haven for the busy professional. You really feel like you've walked away from your troubles and into a safe, warm, and most comortable place. Can't wait to go back!

If you are familiar with Epicuren facials- Spa Velia has the best. You can book a shorter one if you are in a time crunch or go for an 80 minute that includes dermabrasion. They carry the complete Epi facial line for retail too. I am addicted :)

I have been to many spas and have had quite a few facials (as well as massages)- in the past few months my skin has been experiencing many break outs and razor burns/bumps.

I have seen great results from the facials at the spa and the products I now use at home- Thank you Spa Velia gals! You know I will be back!

I received the Epicurin Facial (with micro) at Spa Velia. With my very sensitive, acne treated skin I am always a little hesitant for anyone to touch my face. The staff was amazingly attentive to my sensitivity
ensuring not to agrivate but to help heal and nurture my complexion back to a beautiful glow.

I was so excited when my I got a Spa Velia gift card for Christmas. I Absolutely Loved my Epicuren Facial. My skin is so soft and smooth. I would highly recommend Spa Velia their staff is very knowledgeable and the spa is gorgeous. Thank you Spa Velia I loved my Christmas present, what a Treat!!!

Spa Velia is one of the best spa's in the country. I've experienced many spa facilities and I have to say that Spa Velia holds that "intimate" and "attention to detail" feeling which makes you feel extremely relaxed! Their grounds are very clean and the therapists really take their time to make your treatment one that you will enjoy thoroughly. I've visited Spa Velia four times in the last year and a half and I was so pleased with my experiences that I had written a special letter to Dana Stalling, who is one of the owners, thanking her. I've reccommended this place to friends and family. I hope you will find it just as wonderful as I did.

Having been to several spas and worked a a few resorts I have found the attention to detail and the treatments offered stellar beyond comparison. The ambiance is very settling and relaxing and the staff attentive and accomidating, not only do I send my friends and family there I encourage everyone to!

This past weekend my Husband surprised me with a massage for Mother's Day
at Spa Velia. The reception was nice, the girls were kind and helpful. The locker
room was very clean. The showers are amazing! I enjoyed it twice.

My treatment was with Mary. She was so warm and friendly that she
made me feel relaxed before the treatment even began. Mary's massage was perfect. She chose just the right depth and firmness for what my body needed. Her technique and
professionalism were both grade A.

I enjoyed the lounge as well. Even though it was busy due to Mother's
Day, I found space to relax and breathe.

Thank you for providing such a special experience. I enjoyed it
immensely.

I made my first trip from Minneapolis to SanDiego in March. I took a Holland America Cruise to Mexico and spent time in the City of San Diego on my return. I must say that my experience at SpaVelia was the definate highlight of the my time spent in the City of San Diego. I received a wonderful welcome at the Spa by the concierge and was made to feel very welcome and comfortable by the staff immediately. The ambience is something to really appreciate and the glass of champagne while sitting in my luxurious robe waiting for Staci was so fantastic. I was there for a facial. After spending a week in the sun I was in desparate need of a miracle. A miracle was what I received. I was so relaxed and was so pampered. Staci was willing to share each step of the process with me. My skin was so soft and smooth when I left SpaVelia. It left me feeling beautiful. I was on top of the world without a care. I am recommending this experience for anyone and everyone. Now back in Minneapolis I am telling business associates that are traveling to San Diego that they can't miss the City of San Diego itself . It is beautiful and most definately they cannot miss the chance to pamper themself at SpaVelia. It is a MUST.

My husband and I had couple's massages as a Valentine's Day gift to each other. As first timers to Spa Velia we felt very welcome - right at home. The facility is very soothing with a nice relaxation room for before and after treatments (plus a tasty mimosa). I get massages regularly and must say that my masseuse that day was top notch. We will be back!

I fell in love with Spa Velia from the second I walked through there doors. The Spa is decorated so beautifully and is so relaxing. Thier staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. I have been to Spa Velia many times for many different treatments from facials, waxings, massages and body treatments and have never been disappointed. I Highly recommend Spa Velia to anyone who is looking foe total relaxation from your busy day.

Greeted with lush fluffy robes, a glass of champagne, candle lit relaxtion lounge, a visit to the co-ed steam room before and after treatments, (met a really nice man named David :) we have actually been on a date since then! ). After my deap tissue massage and excellent facial, I indulged in a faboulous oversized 360 degrees natural water flow shower.... image shower heads coming at you from every angle. This was a treat!!!

I have to say....there is nothing like it. Although others try- they just don't get it.

They front desk gal said "make yourself at home", and it is just that...a home away form home. Smiles, hugs, and a welcoming staff are just the begining.

The BEST massage and body treatment I have ever experienced. JOEL is an amazing therpapist! I almost hesitate to write this review.....I hope I can always get my appointments. UNBELIEVABLE from start to finish!

This place is great. I have loved all the treatments I have had so far, but it is all the little extras that make this spa so special. The robes are to die for, the lounge is really comfortable and relaxing, and the 7-head showers in the changing rooms are like a spa service in themselves. They always treat me really well there. Definitely one of my favorite places in town!

This is my favorite spa in San Diego. I have tried many and this one delivers it all. I love the calming atmosphere - almost as much as the pomegranate mimosas you receive before your treatment. The treatments here are top notch. I go for the MD Peel every 6 weeks and have noticed a dramatic improvement in my skin. I have even brought my boyfriend in for a couples massage - HE LOVED IT!

Spa Velia was the best spa experience I've had in this city. I lost all track of time as soon as I walked through the doors. I would recommend parking in a lot even if you have a short session, you'll want to stay for awhile. I LOVED the steamroom and the showers were great. Oh yes, and my massage was fabulous. They are truely professionals.

Julianna gave me one of the best facials that I've ever had. I saw immediate results and even got carded afterwards when buying wine (what a compliment! I could have a child that's 21). The concierge was helpful in making the reservation and everyone was very friendly. I travel the world and have gone to more spas than I can count and this place is really worth talking about. Thank you for a wonderful experience! I'll definitely be back on my next trip to San Diego!

I just came away from another wonderful spa day at Spa Velia. This spa is not even close to me. I live much closer to some of the big name hotel spas in San Diego. But it is so worth the drive. The environment is so intimate and cozy and peaceful. The services are extraordinary. Quality is unmatched! Thank you Spa Velia for making me feel so good! Can't wait to come back!

I have had three massages at Spa Velia and each is better than the last. From the moment you walk through the inner door, you forget the world outside. The aromatherapy, the lighting, the water sounds and the beverages (adult or otherwise) start your journey. The full body massaging shower is followed by a comfortable robe and slippers (provided by the Spa) and a wet sauna or a comfortable reading/relaxing area while your therapist prepares your room. Each of the therapists is an expert in their own area of massage. I have had the hot rock massage twice and the full body massage once. All three therapists put me at ease and I was a different person after each massage. I am looking forward to trying their couples massage and their in-room massage services at the US Grant!!

Working in downtown is very stressful, but sometimes I'm so conditioned to that stress that I forget the things that bring me peace and joy.

Step in from the hustle and bustle of everyday work life to the relaxing surroundings of Spa Velia. The soothing sounds and smells of the spa take you away from everything! The staff at Spa Velia is great! They really know how to take care of their clients! From super-soft robes to wine, champagne and snacks...this spa is definitely top notch!! The Sundari Facial is to die for!!! Go for the 80-minutes and get a foot, head and shoulder massage too! I'll definitely be back!

I have been waiting for years and years for San Diego to finally get a top notch Day Spa downtown....well it has finally arrived....and wow was I impressed by Spa Velia!

The Mediterranean/Italian decor, smells, luxurious robes, incredible showers and MOST IMPORTANTLY the incredible treatments treat all of your senses. I have had regular massage there now for approximately 8 months and I highly recommend Mary, Lisa and Jessica. The facials are unlike any I have had...especially the Sundari. I have tried Juliana and Michelle and they are to die for! Did I mention the Mimosas and wine? :)

I think that they even can do special things for special events. One day I was at the Spa and a couple got engaged there and they had Extraordinary Desserts in the Lounge and the whole set up! That was one lucky girl! If you want to KNOW that you will get an incredible spa service for your money - Spa Velia is it! They really know what they are doing!

The spa is beautiful,. The decor, the colors- the over all feel is warm and inviting. My therapists were unbelievable and the service was off the charts. This is honestly the best spa in SD!
