4 Stars: Blackstone Animal Hospital is great! (by T R.)

We've had wonderful service with Blackstone. Dr. Lindsey has spent time explaining services to us, treatment options and detailing ways to prevent behavior problems. I never felt rushed, and he's always happy to take time for us. I would highly recommend him!

1 Stars: Go Somewhere Else (by Sue W.)

I had a $900 bill and when I started to question the receptionist about the charges, Ann the office manager, who I wasn't even speaking to, jumped in and answered my question in a snapping tone. She quickly changed her tone when she realized how harsh she was and said she would be happy to go over the bill with me. Unprofessional behavior like that is all it takes for me. I am taking my cats and my money elsewhere. You can be the best vet in town but none of it matters if your staff doesn't appreciate who pays the bills. If I pay almost $1000 for services I expect to be fluffed up....

4 Stars: Blackstone Animal Hospital is Great (by Frank S.)

My wife and I have been very happy with the service we have received at Blackstone, and have been extremely impressed with Dr. Lindsay. He takes careful time with us every time we are in, and has been extremely sensitive to our needs. We had a nail go through our lab's foot right at their closing time (and, yes, they are very clear they are not a 24 hour facility) and the doctor and his staff stayed late to tend to her and keep her under surveillance until we came by at Midnight to pick her back up!

I would definitely recommend Blackstone to anyone.

5 Stars: Not Blackstonne's fault! (by kristi g.)

For the upset people that were misled by the google ad saying that Blackstone was a 24 hour operating animal hospital:

It is in no way Blackstone Animal Hospital's fault that google mis-represented them, it is unfair to put the blame on the Hospital and bad mouth the practice. It is childish and a result of the lack of attention to detail such as calling ahead possibly and seeing if someone answers. Do not blame Dr. Lindsey for Google's mistake.

5 Stars: excellent vet, excellent staff (by Mica W.)

We started seeing Dr. Lindsey the first time we lived in Frisco seven years ago with our two dogs. He was at a different clinic with other doctors that were difficult at best. Dr. Lindsey always took time to visit with us about everything we were concerned about. When we moved back to Frisco five years later we drove clear across town (from Custer and 121) to get back to our favorite vet. He has gone above and beyond this time for our pets. One of our dogs was rescued from a breed rescue group. His microchip had not been updated, and while we were out of town, he was lost from our friend's house who was watching him. Dr. Lindsey helped facilitate our dog's return home by working with the microchip company, the out-of-state breed rescue and the vet's office that found him. I can't sing Dr. Lindsey's praises enough, and I think any pet (and their owner) would be lucky to have him on their side.

5 Stars: Dr. Lindsey is the best!! (by Tammy R.)

We have two dogs and they are like family to us. Dr. Lindsey was recommended by a good friend and we were unhappy with our current vet anyway. First one of my dogs required surgery to remove a growth and there were some issues that required me to take her in daily for several weeks to get her wound irrigated and dressing changed. I was never charged for any of these visits except for necessary medication. Then my other dog was diagnosed with diabetes and we have him in frequently as a result of that. The tests required and the resulting charges were much less than I was anticipating based on postings I had read online from owners of other diabetic pets. Veterinary care is never cheap, but I never feel like Dr. Lindsey orders any unnecessary tests and he is very mindful of the fact that cost can be an issue for many people. His entire staff is also wonderful and the clinic is clean and smells great 100% of the time. I wouldn't trust my babies with anyone else.

4 Stars: Nice clinic, caring staff and Dr. (by Mollie G.)

After reading through some of these reviews, I have to disagree. I've been taking my dogs to Dr. Lindsey for approx 2 years and I have a hard time believing he would try to upsell anything. My dogs have a ton of issues (they are old basset hounds) and he is always conscious of how much something will cost me. He is careful to give me all of the options when discussing their care. If you are someone looking for a vet to come in and let your dog kiss him all over, then I guess Dr. Lindsey is not the vet for you. He IS all about getting down to business but he does take the time to pet my dogs and talk to them before he handles/examines them. I have called over there a million times with questions and concerns and the staff is always friendly and accommodating. And, as for the 24 hour clinic advertising, I would agree that that is an issue with google, not Dr. Lindsey. As for the wait time, I have never waited more than 20 minutes for my appt time and that doesn't bother me because when I go into the exam room with my dogs Dr Lindsey does not act rushed and does not try to hurry me out of there. He takes the time to adequately answer my questions and spends the time necessary to examine my dog. I never mind waiting because I know my dog will get the same individualized attention.

1 Stars: Terrible dianosis (by Cynthia C.)

I am new to the area so I chose Blackstone Animal Hospital because it was near my home. Worst mistake I ever made for my dogs. I took my then 6 month old puppy there because I needed heartworm pills and I wanted to ask him about the excessive amount of discharge coming from his penis. I've had male dogs in the past and know that some discharge is normal but this was way too much and it was greenish not the normal yellow. The doctor didn't even look at him and just chalked it up to normal male discharge. I can't believe I waited a month but I did and took him to the Pet Medical Center on Preston. That vet was wonderful!!! Right off he said that it was too much after putting his hands on my puppy. He has an infection. And most likely because it was misdiagnosed, the infection has enlarged his prostate because the infection got that far up. Had the vet at Blackstone diagnosed it correctly, I would have just done some flushing of the area with a mild solution and followed up with a less extreme antibiotic but now, he's on a very strong medication that has terrible side effects. Shame on you doctor for just wanting to get in and out of the exam room as quick as possible with out touching my puppy to collect your $30 fee. Fancy looking facility but low grade service. I've moved 9 times in 14 years and have seen many vets because of it. This vet has been my worst experience.

5 Stars: Be fair!! Great Hospital!!! (by J. N.)

Blackstone Animal Hospital (unbeknownst to Google) is not an 24 hour or after hours pet emergency clinic, nowhere inside or outside this facility does it state that. Perhaps the previous review should be intended for Google? You can't blame this facility for Google's mistake. My pets are patients at Blackstone Animal Hospital and I too am extremely happy with Dr. Lindsey's proactive yet conservative approach to medicine. He is very thorough but not excessive with unnecessary tests and costs, which saves my money and avoids stress to my pet. Great vet wonderful staff, and beautiful facility!!

1 Stars: Horrible !!!! should be shut down for there lack of service. (by Bertie S.)

My dog was bleeding from his neck due to a nail puncture he encountered while in the yard and so we googled 24 HR ANIMAL HOSPITALS, and Blackstone Animal hospital came up so we rushed over there It must have been 7:30-8:00pm and after the twenty minute drive there with our puppy Logan still hanging in there, and still bleeding let me add Blackstone was closed no signs posted, all the light off. horrible experience !! We kept driving and finally found the Pet Medical Center on Main street off of Preston Rd., Thank God for them, they came to the rescue and took great care of Logan, they were able to help him unlike Blackstone and to them we owe it all now my family is relaxed and calm with our Logan here at home with us.

5 Stars: Great Vet! Great Care! Great Price! (by Annemieke P.)

I have been using the same local Frisco Veterinarian for 10 years and have never felt the level of one on one care my pets deserved until Dr. Lindsey took over their health care. He is very gentle and genuine in his approach to my pets, he spent time petting on them instead of standing there with his arms crossed. He talked to them and myself, but not in obnoxious baby talk. Even though I came for a simple visit which required a basic examination fee, Dr. Lindsey did a complete examination for that same fee. That has never happened before at my other veterinarians.

During another visit, I asked Dr. Lindsey if he felt an x-ray was necessary, he spent the time to explain and physically show me why this was not necessary at this time. A Veterinarian willing to save me money...fantastic!

With a visit with one of my pets, Blackstone's in-house laboratory provided critical information within 15 minutes which, in fact, saved my animals live!

Since my initial visit, I have transferred the care of all 4 of my pets. At this time, I can honestly say, this man is a real animal lover, obviously. His prices are right in line with the rest of the pack, if not a bit lower in some cases (without padding the bill like I have experiences in the past numerous times). The entire facilities smells so good and feel very welcoming with an "at home" atmosphere. I have and will continue to highly recommend Blackstone Animal Hospital and Dr. Troy Lindsey.

5 Stars: lets be fair (by mike k.)

this doctor does not upsell. I have taken my dog in several timesw and he has a very conservative approach. my is only two and has had several close calls because she is so active but the doc took a very wait and see attitude at the same time giving me a 24 hour clinic number in case things took a turn for the worse. I think the previous post was too emotional but I have been there too so don't want to offend those people. the point of this posting is the doctor is not trying to run up your bill and he seems to be on the conservative side for example I wanted an exray and after he felt my dogs leg and the dog did not care he said lets wait I agreed with him after I saw his examination.

5 Stars: Excellent Service (by Lance W.)

Our 13 year old German Shepherd wasn't putting all her weight on her front leg. After an exam, biopsy, and test - it was determined that she had bone cancer. The staff at Blackstone walked us through all of the options, making sure we completely understood during this emotional time. We chose to have her euthanized. It was a difficult choice, but the correct one in our minds.

Through the entire process, the staff at Blackstone was very professional and caring. Our emotions were running wild, yet we felt as if we were around family during the services. We highly recommend this competent and caring facility to any pet owners.

5 Stars: GREAT VET! (by Daniel J.)

I had a litter of 9 German Shepherds that all needed shots. I called around and got quotes, Blackstone was by far the cheapest. They were all very friendly, and the care was top notch. They are now my new Vet even though I pass three other vets to get there!
