5 Stars: Great addition to downtown Berkeley! Fresh, organic, pizza!! (by Lynne G.)

Bobby G's is a great addition to the downtown Berkeley food scene! Fresh, organic ingredients; Vegan and Vegetarian options; and a Meat Lovers pie to die for! Truly something for everyone. Their space is big, warm, and clean and the staff is super friendly. I've been here a few times for lunch and dinner already, and it is quickly becoming my favorite food spot in downtown Berkeley.

5 Stars: Great food, nice place to hang out! (by Donna K.)

My husband and I are now regulars at Bobby G's. We live close by, and think it is a fantastic place. The food is creative, fresh, and always satisfying. My personal favorite is their bolognese pasta, while my husband tends to sample from the various pies on their menu. When I find a good thing, I tend to stick with it (i.e., the bolognese), but I must admit that I usually end up eating half of whatever my husband orders. Last time he ordered the arugula and cheese pie, which is a great combination of cheeses and, of course, arugula. It's a great combination of flavors without being too heavy on anything. And that's what we love about the place. They definitely get that less is sometimes more, and we always leave there full and quite content. We've been eating here for a few months now, and have watched the place evolve quite nicely. They have some great local artwork on the walls, and built a nice bar (my husband was much more excited than me, since he insists that it is sacrilegus to eat pizza without an ice cold beer). The owner is a very nice, personalable guy who seems genuinely interested in our feedback. My husband suggested to him once that he make hot sauce available (weird, I know, but my husband loves hot sauce on everything). The owner said, "Great idea. I think I'll do that." Sure enough, the next time we came in, there was a nice selection of hot sauces available for us. We were extemeley flattered by the fact that he not only listened, but that he took action. That was pretty much the day that my husband and I decided that Bobby G's was going to be a regular stop for us. Two thumbs up to Bobby G and his great staff! We love the place and wish them much success!

4 Stars: Awesome New York-style pizza (by Brandon K.)

Bobby G's is a really cool around-the-corner type place. It has a relaxed atmosphere and is a great place to just hang out, grab a slice, and drink some beer. The on-tap beer selection is very respectable.

They're great for take-out too.

Tip: The small is pretty small and the large is pretty large. They only offer two sizes. Since the slices are pretty thin, it's not a stretch that the large would satisfy 2 or 3 hungry people.

4 Stars: Tasty and afordable NY style pie (by Kelvin D.)

I was happy to see a new place opening near my job in downtown Berkeley. I gave it a try early on, and it has been a regular lunch spot for me ever since. Great slices, sandwiches and salads. Haven't tried the pasta yet, but my coworker swears by the bolognese. Everything is fresh and delicious, and I highly recommend it. The owner is a real personable, nice guy and the staff is great. They definitely understand customer service, and it's a nice place to hang out and enjoy a meal. I highly recommend it!

5 Stars: Great place, delicious food! (by Lori P.)

University Avenue is not really known for its food, but some new restaurants are popping up recently and helping to change that. Since I live nearby, I am very happy about that. My favorite here is their triple shroom pie, but I've never been disappointed with anything. They have vegan options, which my family is very impressed with (I'm not vegan, but I think it's cool this place supports the idea). Nice vibe... good music, nice service, very comfortable and clean.
