I can see where these reviews come from, but I think the one star review is quite harsh. My daughter has been there a year and loves LL, her new friends and the teachers. There is a daily schedule. Can any early childhood educator be called lazy? It is not an intense, driven schooling experience, but really they are 4. Is that the point?

My daughter already knew her colors, shapes, letters and numbers, and since has learned all of the letter sounds, to write all of her letters, play well with others, learned to follow instructions and wait in line. The teachers have creative and fun art projects for the kids to do every day. There is a letter, shape, color and theme each week and the kids learn in a big group (3 and 4 year olds together) and then break out into pre-school and pre-K classes each day. Monthly, they organize little field trips (like the post office), have holiday parties, music with the pastor, bake with the kids and cook one or two lunches. My favorite thing is that they spend an hour or so each month at the senior center and I love that my daughter gets that multi-generational exposure.

I'm not sure if the person below actually has a child at the school, because if he/she does then they must not know the school at all.

My son attends Little Learners and the school has done wonders for him. He absolutely adores his teachers as well as his classmates. He has achieved a great deal at this school, and was able to read and write before he turned 4.

There is definite structure, with each child fully understanding and appreciating their daily routines. My son brings home this appreciation by implementing things like the meal songs or words of thanks before eating, or by going to the potty before and after playtime and meals.

He respects each of his teachers, and goes to school excited each day to take on whatever his next challenge is. He has learned to play cooperatively and respectfully with his classmates.

At first I was a bit wary. I didn't know the teachers very well yet, and I didn't really know any of the parents of my son's classmates. However, as I became more involved in the school's operations by attending more school functions, bringing my son to the various birthday parties, and scheduling playtime with his classmates outside of school, I've gotten to know both of his main teachers very well as well as several of the parents.

This school is everything that it should be: a learning environment that encourages both educational and social growth.

Young children need structure and boundaries. The teachers do not take the time to enforce concepts such as sharing, manners, and other important social skills. Also the teachers are very negative and are often found not interacting with the children.

Little Learners Preschool is housed in a small, unassuming house next to the First Baptist Church in San Carlos. It seems a little dark and cluttered when you first enter it but homey and warm.
