My husband and I first visited the Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm in Spring 2006. We moved from South Central Montana in the fall of 2001 where winters are normally long and cold, but typically dry and sunny. We had not fully acclimated to the gray and wet winters of Western Oregon, the winter of 2005-2006 being the topper so far. Fortunately for us, we had business to attend to that would take us right by Woodburn the last week of the Annual Tulip Fest and that April day delivered everything that thoughts of Spring promise. Bright blue skies, a few white puffy clouds framing Mt. Hood, a temperature of right around 72 degrees, trees with with fresh spring green leaves and and a kaleidoscope of color in the fields as far as we could see. It was exactly what we needed to refresh us to move through the remaining days of rain and gloom until the warm sunny days returned! At the end of our visit, I purchased a box of bulbs. In the fall, they arrived right on time with a coupon for purchases to the farm's on-site gift store and a parking pass for the coming 2007 Festival held march 20 - April 22. When I called with questions I had about planting the bulbs, I received a prompt return call that completely answered my concerns. I kept a few bulbs for my self and my neighbor. I gifted the rest to some of my Montana friends so they too could share in the glory of Oregon Springtime! It was one of the best ways I've ever experienced to get past the winter doldrums. I highly recommend it and I will definitely return to Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm. Pam S.Creswell, OR
