Ratings_icons The Best of the Best -- Insight Education

Divya M.

I strongly recommend any High School student to go to Insight Education. At first, like many out there, I thought I could complete this college application process without anyones help but BOY was I wrong. I have never been so glad to take the right decision to get Insight's help. I would have never gotten the college acceptances I've received if it wasn't for Insight Education.

Insight is like my second home, literally. I cannot possibly place a number on the countless times I've been to Insight to meet Ariane, to work on my essays, to edit my essays, to hang out till maybe around 10pm (on a good day :)). It definitely feels like home because of how the counselors treat their students. Not only do they act as my mentor, my guidance counselor, but also as a friend. When I sit down for an appointment with Ariane, I know I'm getting personal one-on-one attention.

Insight is not only very good in providing help through the college application process, but also for many other things. If as a Junior you decide to go to Insight, the counselors will prepare you to the fullest to go to the college of your dreams (and I really mean that). They will show you the many internships out there that you may be qualified for. They will provide support and guidance during the long, stressful "junior year" and make sure you don't slip in your academics as you pursue your other interests. They will give you one-on-one SAT prep help if you need it. You can go to Insight for as many diagnostic tests are your heart wishes for. :)

Unlike any other Institutions out there, these counselors CARE. I know when I send Ajit an email at 12am that I will get a response immediately. Even if one of them isn't my primary counselor, I always get help regardless. Ajit has helped me A LOT. I'm pretty sure I've asked him about a billion questions and have whined to him about this dreadful process called college apps. He never puts you down and always makes you smile (with his not-so-funny jokes, just kidding :)).

I cannot completely tell how much of a help Insight will be to you in words. You have to try it for yourself! I guarantee to you that it will totally be worth it in the end when you see those results come May.

Ratings_icons College Application Counselling - "with Care"

Chandra J.

The most important aspect of Ajit and Purvi's college guidance program in addition to their knowledge about schools and the process was the overall mentor ship and the positive and caring experience they provided during my daughter's application process. Their supportive role and guidance, during the college selection process with their timely help and appropriately pushing to meet the deadlines brought out the best in my daughter's application and her college essays. Their guidance and help was key in her getting acceptances from excellent schools with scholarship. We plan to use their guidance again, as our son gets ready to apply for colleges in another year and highly recommend for other parents to use their services as well. They really care and work hard to bring out the best in each student.

As immigrants to the country, the whole college application process seemed impossibly complex. So many different parts to it, so many places we could inadvertently do the wrong thing, or miss out on doing what was needed in time. Not to mention trying to guide a teenager through important life choices, he felt ill-equipped to handle.

Purvi has been an amazing resource, counselor and friend to the family. Helping us navigate the process, never too busy to talk us through the choices, always ready with an encouraging word, inspiring and infinitely patient. The counselors are just the right blend of youth and maturity to be able to reach out to kids in a way we clueless parents cannot! We didnt think twice before deciding to bring our daughter here too.

Ratings_icons Thank you Purvi and the Insight Team

Moti J.

The Insight team provides invaluable service to both students & parents. The combination of domain knowledge with an effective delivery uniquely qualifies them to be one of the finest in the business. Our two boys have used their services ranging from course selection, SAT prep, coaching, & general counseling. Each meeting has a personal & caring touch to it. As parents, we are kept informed of their progress with recommendations on a course of action to improve their grades. Purvi takes the mystery out of what appears to be complex. This helps us better monitor our kids progress & better plan ahead for them. In summary, they are a powerful ally of the students (& parents) helping navigate them through the years in High School & then to College. I have recommended their services to others, as I know they are an asset no child or parent should be without.

Both of my daughters went to Insight for the last two years and they had great experiences. I recommend Insight for college counseling and applications because it has helped my daughters find internships and otherwise put them at an advantage for the admissions process.

I will highly recommend Purvi and her troops at Insight for College Prep. Insight is not only knowledgeable in college applications but also have in depth knowledge of financial aid and scholarships at Universities. In spite of being a big and busy organization they are efficient in meeting all college deadlines, and give personalized attention to each and every student. My daughter always got positive motivation from Insight and did well on her SAT IIs and her college interviews. They are the best college prep institution around.

Ratings_icons Great help, make application good and easy

At first I thought I wouldn't need it. Transfer application shouldn't be hard, since I did a similar one already in high school, I thought. But now I'm glad that my parents got Insight Ed. to help me with my application, personal statement, and it saves me lots of time. When I saw my friends struggling with their personal essays at the last minute along with up coming midterms in school, with the help of Insight, I can relax and focus my energy on course work. My parents trust them, and I can see the reason why.

Ratings_icons Helpful and Awesome!!

I first used Insight for their summer SAT prep classes, and I found the classes to be extremely helpful! My instructor was very knowledgeable and fun, and the classes were really personal. These classes definitely increased my score by at least 250 points!!
My parents and I were so thrilled with Insight after this, that we decided to use their college prep services as well. Insight definitely helped me through my stressful junior year, not only with preparing for college apps the next year, but with my academics as well! If it wasn't for my counselor, I probably would never have been able to manage my time so well! My counselor recognized my passion for science and research and helped place me in two great research internships. Insight was very active in helping me find and apply to the right colleges, and because of them, I am going to attend my dream college next year!!! What I love most about Insight though, is that the counselors are much more than people you pay to help edit your essays. I have found a friend in my counselor and I have great relationships with the other two as well! I know I can rely on them for any future advice, whether academic or not!

Ratings_icons Making Something out of Potential

Rahul K.

Purvi and the whole Insight Education staff helped me successfully gain admission to an Ivy league school. The one thing I've always known, is that everybody has the potential to reach their goals, but there's a spark thats necessary to truly reach it. There are few people in this world who are as helpful and as as insightful as Purvi is, and she has done a great job of helping students realize their potential and make good on it. I would advise absolutely anyone who is looking to apply to college or simply get a head start on their academics to go to Purvi and just talk with her.
Insight goes beyond the call of many other college prep agencies in that they make a direct connection with the student, and act more as friends and mentors rather than simply spell checkers or draft editors. They kept me on a schedule and kept me stress free through the process, giving me just enough push so that I could get the work done on my own accord and really find my voice. There is nobody I trust more as it comes to college admissions than Purvi and the Insight staff.
I have a young brother who is just entering high school right now and I hope that he will use purvi in the years to come. There are so many things about applying to college that we will never understand, and having someone like her, who is looking out for you, is always welcome.

Ratings_icons Excellent coaching & insight into the College application process

Nanda K.

As a parent, Insight Education was recommended by a trusted friend whose child had gone through the program earlier. My son worked with Purvi throughout the college application process starting with his interests, college selection, short-listing, guidance through the application process and most importantly essays and narrative portion of the application. Purvi was superb in helping my son understand the pros/cons of different schools and working with him during the long process. In particular she helped him internalize the purpose of the essays/narratives so he could write his thoughts in his voice. More importantly I know she was always available (even weekends) to respond to his questions or reviewing his drafts. The result of this effort speaks for itself - my son was accepted in several top schools and is choosing to go a well-known Ivy League school.

One thing to remember in this process is that the student must have potential and be motivated to succeed. The role of a good coach (which Purvi is!) is to create the right environment to develop that potential and help the student execute at the highest level of performance when it is needed most.

I have already recommended Insight to others and will most definitely work with Purvi for my second child.

Ratings_icons I LOVED INSIGHT!

All i can say about insight is that they really went beyond my expectations. Going through Insight really helped me prepare for the real world that I face at college, but really got me through high itself. As a student-athlete, they not only supported me and guided me through my academic career but they also helped me with my future plans for sports. Anyone that says Insight was not helpful obviously did not take advantage of all the oppurtunities that it has to offer. If there was anything that i could change about my experience would be that i would use their resources more. They would always have their door open for anyone to come in, take practice tests, and then go over them with the students. I would DEFINITELY recommend Insight to student going through high school.

My experience with insight has been incredibly helpful and just so great overall. Insight was able to help me better understand the point of the prompt of the essays and taught me how to stay grounded in the essay. Both Purvi and Ajit were amazing in supporting me through applications which at the time was such a stress reliever. Their patience and understanding was unbelievable and I cannot thank them enough for all of their help. Thanks Insight!

Working with Insight during the college application process saved my sanity! I worked one on one with a counselor on each essay for each (of many) college applications. It was wonderful to be able to email a draft of an essay to my counselor and get it back with revisions so quickly (often that very night!). Insight helped me perfect my applications so that I was able to put my best foot forward when applying to college. I was able to confidently submit each application because I knew that my counselor at Insight had carefully reviewed section until it was perfect. Thanks Insight!

Ratings_icons Insight Education Really Helped Me

Anonymous

Insight Education got me really prepared for the ACT and my SAT IIs. They were able to give me feed back and give me numerous practice tests. They always made time for me if I needed help.
They were very knowledgeable when it came to standardize testing and applying for colleges. Because I was the first child to go to college in my family and my parents never applied for private schools, it was hard knowing what exactly to do. But they really made things clearer. They made things less stressful, and kept me on track so I would not be swamped my senior year.
They really do a great job!

As a parent I think I carry a responsibility of writing a review only if I truly believe in the good that the people at Insight are commited to doing...and I can honestly say these people are the best.

They have put their heart and soul into ensuring that their students get nothing but the best. I know Purvi and Ajit are both always available to be there for their students day or night. They are both commited to ensuring their students success. I could not ask for better role models and a better guides for my girl.

I would HIGHLY recommend Insight to every parent out there.

Ratings_icons Statement from Insight Owner

Ajit J.

My name is Ajit Jain and I am one of the owners of Insight Education. The persons who continue to post negative comments on this site and rated us with one star on multiple occasions have refused to pay for a service that was delivered as promised. It is sad to see someone behave in this way but we are taking the necessary and formal steps required of us in such a situation. Rather than lower myself to a level that I am not comfortable with I will leave it at that. Our clients have come together in droves on this forum to make it clear to everyone that we have the support of the community because of our tireless efforts to offer outstanding service. A simple comparison of the negative postings makes it clear that the same person is behind them based on style and grammar.

Everyone at Insight Education stands by the quality of the service that we provide and we do so with integrity and honesty. We are also committed to being very proactive about making productive use of the constructive feedback that our clients provide us with in order to continue to improve the quality of our service. We encourage all of our students to approach everything they do in life with a sincere commitment to hard work. It is thus imperative that their parents are also partners in the process by stressing the value of hard work and accountability. Hard work and accountability must be taught by example.

I encourage anyone who is interested in learning more about our services to peruse our website and arrange for a private meeting with one of us. We have been active and successful members of the Bay Area community for almost ten years because we put our students first. If anyone who has read through the comments on this site, negative or positive, has any questions or concerns that they would like to pose to us, please take the time to e-mail me directly: ajit@insight-education.net.

To all of our clients who have taken time out of their busy day to offer such wonderful feedback, we sincerely thank you.

Insight Education has extremely knowledgeable people who can provide pertinent information about colleges and careers tailored to the needs of each student. They helped our daughter select high school classes that were inline with her college goals, trim her volunteer work so it benefited her in college application without over burdening her, helped her in writing application essay and were generally supportive in every possible way. I would recommend all parents in the area to take advantage of this great resource, Insight Education, and help their children succeed.

Purvi and Ajit were SO helpful during my junior and senior years! They were very patient, listened to all of my concerns about college and college admissions, and really helped me choose schools where I would fit well. With their help, I was able to improve more than 300 points on the SAT, ace my SAT IIs, ACT, and APs, and apply for summer programs and colleges. They helped with resumes, teacher recommendations, interviews, essays, studying, and, well, basically everything! I never thought I'd get into some of the schools that I did this spring, and I don't think it would have happened without their help with organizing my time according to deadlines and editing all of the parts of my application. And they're so friendly and caring that I really felt comfortable working with them and asking for advice. My sister is definitely going there next year, and I recommend it to anyone and everyone. Now I just have to choose which school to go to!

My friend recommended me to Insight. We are very glad that we used insight services. Sometimes it is very hard to communicate with a teenager who is not willing to listen. Insight counselor Purvi helped him to understand the college admission procedure, its requirement and also how to meet those requirements. She guided him through the process of course selection and selecting colleges that help him achieve his goal.
Purvi was always there for us when we needed any kind of advice. I could send her an email and ask for advice, she would reply me immediately with an answer.
I would recommend Insight Education to everyone. They made our college admission process less painful. We are very grateful to them.

I remember when we met Purvi the first time to discuss college application process for our daughter. There is so much information out there we had no idea where to start. Purvi made it much easier on us. She and my daughter became a team working towards the same goal of getting her to a college that she wanted to go. She helped her in deciding the colleges that she should apply, SAT prep, Senior year classes etc.The other important information that we did not have was Financial Aid. Ajit's presentation made it very easy to follow and clear. He was very helpful in answering questions from each parent. Overall we had a great experience with Purvi and Ajit.

Ratings_icons My college experience is - in sight.

Rohan B.

My friend who now attends Harvard recommended Insight to me at the end of my Junior year. I first had a meeting with the Insight staff and filled out a profile for them to get to know me. At the next meeting we discussed potential schools that I would possibly be interested in applying to and would fit into well. Some colleges I realized I would like while others I decided were not for me. Insight helped me with my resume for teachers and interviews, preparing for interviews, SAT II prep for a last minute Biology test to improve my score, application essays, and general questions. Insight was much better than my school adviser and was able to answer all of my questions. The staff is committed to making sure their students get into the best schools they applied to. My adviser often responded to emails after midnight and on weekends. I applied to sixteen colleges and could not have done so without the help of Insight. I received a $40,000 scholarship to one of my top choice schools and my father is extremely satisfied with having found Insight. I also received scholarships at other schools and I feel that Insights help greatly helped me in my achievements.

Keep in mind Insight will not help you more than you help yourself. You have to stay on top of things and write good essays for them to give you good feedback. The more effort you put into the process, the more they are able to assist you. They will not just whip up a good application for you but will help you make your own.

Because of the amount of students Insight helps, they know exactly what each specific school is looking for in an applicant from having gone through a year long process with each student. They have been MUCH more helpful than my school's college counselor, who has to help all 800 juniors and seniors. It took me an hour and a half to drive to Insight from the East Bay, and it was still worth it.

It's April, and I'm going to college. NOW I JUST HAVE TO DECIDE WHICH ONE TO GO TO!!

I have been going to Insight Education since July of 2007. Not only has this tutoring place improved my SAT score by almost 300 points, the help I received when applying to colleges was unmatched. Attending a prestigious private school in the bay area, I was assigned an esteemed college counselor. My college counselor was very helpful; yet I ended up relying on Insight's help because it proved to be most helpful and most effective.

I went in with the mindset that Insight would be just as good as Princeton Review, the previous SAT classes I had attended. I was proved very very wrong within the first 15 minutes of the meeting. Insight helped to make sure I understood what I was doing, why I was doing it, and essentially made the experience quite enjoyable! Going to SAT class wasn't a drag - which was extremely weird because I would plot my escape during my classes at the Princeton Review. I built a strong bond with my tutor, and I was very pleased with the level of help the staff is willing to give. Everyone there was very friendly and did exactly what they needed to do. I have heard NOTHING but good things about this program, and I know for a fact that it is extremely popular among many.

The level of assistance I received is something I will be forever grateful for, and being a second semester senior attending college in a few months, I still keep in touch with my tutor. I would recommend Insight Education to everyone, and have recommended it to many.

Insight is very helpful when it comes down to the entire college applications process. The counselors do NOT make promises about what schools you could get into, knowing how arbitrary the admissions decisions can be sometimes. What they do do is make sure your application is at the best it can be before you send it out. Of course, the student has to put in time too. While they won't (and shouldn't) write your college application, they are very helpful in making it ready.

As a first generation family we struggle with process in this country. Insight was very much helpful so our child can qualify for UCs and even few privates out of the state. Since we don't have the green card the privates are more or less same price as UCs and it was details like this that Insight help with.
