If Linda treated Jenny better, she probably would still have clients.
Jenny was the best employee she had. I never went back there since Jenny left.
Find Jenny (now Tracy) at Lady Bug Nail Salon in Pittsburg.
She is worth every mile that you drive. She is the BEST!
Make sure you ask for Tracy.

In response to Sherri T.'s review.
I totallya agree with you. The first time I did the eyelash extensions was with Linda. Disaster! My eyes were so itchy and it would not go away until I ripped the eyelashes off including my own.
No instructions on how to take care of them or what to expect - nothing. The glue got in my eyes while driving and had to pull over on the side of the freeway to wipe my cleans clean because I could not see.

Well, it's been years now and I have learned and found the best under $100. How about a month long eyelashes for $30 bucks. Pretty awesome.
She actually worked for Linda and that's how I met her.
I have been going to her for over 6 years now.
Her name is Tracy now formerly known as Jenny.
She is at Lady Bug Nail Salon in Pittsburg.
Yes, Pittsburg. She is well worth the drive.
The is the MASTER eyelash lady. She uses a Japanese glue that does not sting your eyes. It is AMAZING!!!
I love her!!
She is the prettiest one in there. Make sure you ask if her name was also Jenny.

So it was last week when I went to this place. Sure, it looks all pretty, BUT the service is not. I was greeted and was told to sit and wait for my appt. Yes, I had the same experience as the lady below me. I had an appt. with Linda (the owner). She was with another client (consulting?), anyway, I waited over 15 minutes while she finished up. How much does she care about great/excellent customer svc? I think not much. Anyway, I got tired of waiting. After all, an appt. is to save time of waiting. So anyway, I got my hair cut, but I guess she was in a rush and did not listen to what I wanted. She cut however she wanted and I was displeased. I just told her to stop and paid and left. I heard her staff speak in Vietnamese too; they may have said something about me. I got an unfriendly feeling from them. Will not come back or reccomend to anyone.

I forgot to mention that one should look on yahoo local reviews, too. It will be helpful in determining where to go and what places are not worth the time.

Pros: pretty looking place; clean

Cons: bad customer service

I was on time for my first appointment with Linda Pham. She was working on another client when I arrived. Why bother with appointment. She finally got to me 20 minutes later. She cut my hair unevenly and promised to fix it after my manicure/pedicure. She kept me sitting with my wet hair and went to chat with another client. After 30 minutes, I left without manicure/pedicure, hair fixed.

No a place for me. By the way, Linda Pham is the owner of the Salon.

I've been there twice. I ONLY went back becaues the cut was very good. All of my friends and family always say "WOW!, looks great!
when I come back. But when it comes to customer interaction - eh...not so much.

First experience: John was overbooked, and he basically was doing everything for 3 customers at once, and I found myself with my head stuck in the sink for 10 minutes while I waited for him to return. I finally stopped waiting, and asked what was going on. Someone brought me over a towel so I could at least do something with my soaking wet hair. I was there total for almost four hours getting a cut and color. I'm used to two at other higher end salons.

2nd experience: I only came back because I liked the cut and hoped that my first experience was a fluke as they said the "overbooking" was not normal. It definitley wasn't as bad as the first time. I was there for two hours, he wasn't double/trible booked. And though everyone was nice and I don't need someone to make conversation with me, the salon was loud with a passionate employee discussion about something in a language I didn't understand. It went on the all the whole time, and it was hard to connect on any level. And again, I have no problems with other languages, as my family is multicultural too and we speak other languages, but I was completely ignored. (This was the same last time too). In all of my other experiences, I am used to a stylist making conversation if I'm open to it - sort of become friends over the years.

But bottom line is I don't need more friends, I need a great haircut. However, if my FIRST experience happens again, I'm out of there.

This is my first experience at La Princesse. I've had numerous pedicures, and this one tops them all. The salon was very relaxing, and the staff was polite and unobstrusive. Everything was clean and excellently done.

I'm a fairly new customer to this establishment (May 2007), but I have already received several of their services: brow shaping (tweezing), lip wax, bikini wax, makeup application for special occasion, lash extensions, and Brazilian wax. I've been happy and satisfied with all of the services mentioned. Both Linda and Jenny are friendly, professional and thorough -- I don't feel like I'm being rushed in my treatments nor are products forced upon me. I'm looking forward to trying more of their services which range from hair to nails to face and body. Take a look at their website and you'll see for yourself the wide range of services to choose from. I'm glad I came across La Princesse and I will (and have) recommend them to friends and family!

I have been going to La Princesse for almost 2 years now. I enjoyed the convenience of a fantastic salon when I lived in Alameda and still make the trek even after moving to the Oakland Hills. Linda worked wonders for my hair and introduced me to waxing. Everyone is so professional and truly seem to love what they do. Prices are high but reasonable for an upscale salon and surely worth it. Try them out and you'll find your perfect salon.

I have been a client of John for several years. He is the only hairstylist I can trust to cut my hair. Even though it is a long way for me to travel to Alameda for my hair appointment, it is well worthy. (I went to other salons after John left his previous one. It was a disater and my hair was a mess.)
Additionally, John never use any pressure to sell you anything and is always eager to help with your request.
Highly recommend him and the salon.

La Princesse in Alameda is the place to go for a good hair-cut. I always request Linda Pham. She does an excellent job and is very personable. Linda has been cutting my hair since 1998 and I always request her. I have not used the other services at La Princesse, but I get a consistently good hair-cut each time. The staff is friendly, the interior is bright and parking is easy to find. Accept no substitutes - ask for Linda Pham!

Pros: Consistently good cut, good value, easy street parking in neighborhood, easy-going staff

Cons: Linda Pham is good, so she's often booked up. Call ahead.

If you've ever thought about getting a Brazilian Wax but have been too afraid, I recommend you have it at La Princesse Spa with Jenny Thuong Tran. I was apprehensive about getting one at first. But now I have one on a regular basis. It is a little painful but very worth it. Jenny makes you feel very comfortable, is thorough and professional. I had no bumps or in grown hairs afterwards. When the hair grows back it is more fine and soft, not coarse. I would recommend Jenny for any service, she is great! My boyfriend really liked her work too!!

The staff was very friendly, professional and thorough with my beauty treatments. Jen was excellent with all the services she performed for me. I would definitely recommend this place to my family and friends. You might pay just a bit more, but it's totally worth it for the service you receive. The shop is well-kept, clean and classy. Treat yourself like I did. You'll love it!!

I love this place. I've had manicures, pedicures, hair cut and style, waxing, facials--and I can't remember what else--at this salon. The services are fabulous. The staff are friendly and talented. In particular, I've gotten the best waxing I've ever had here (and I've been getting my legs waxed for 15 years, so I've experienced more than a few salons). I brought my mother and sister in; they were very impressed. Did I mention that I love this place?

Pros: Waxing! And they are open long hours, so you can always get an appointment, morning or evening.

I tried this little salon type spa to get some false eyelashes (the two month kind) for the first time. It took approx. 1.5 hours, which was nice as I was told it would take 2 hours. It was pricey ($180). The salon was clean. Reception help was friendly.

Downside: Once lashes were applied, person who applied them (Linda) just disappeared: I had absolutely no instruction on how to take care of them, what to do if they fell apart, nothing. A little confusing... a little frustrating when not having ever had this product before. I was also told different prices on the maintenance of these new lashes. This causes me reason for worry...(I was told between $14 to $20 every 10 days to two weeks).
