I recently invited about 15 people to attend my 30th birthday party at Nios. Mistake! Within 15 minutes of being at the bar, and one beer later, the owner grabbed me by the shoulder, and told me to leave in front of all of his customers, threatening to fight me and using profanity in such a rude manner, that I am sure he made quite the scene in front of all of his customers. I have never been in a fight in my entire life, so this was quite the experience. I had simply told a woman, that she could have her seat back after my friend had accidentally sat there. Don't do that to this owner's sister in law. After a slew of profanity by the owner, I gladly closed my tab, and walked down the street, where my friends and family dropped a few hundred dollars at Molly Malone's. The unfortunate thing is that 1. About 15 people will never eat at this establishment again, and word will spread to a lot more 2. This place will probably close down in the next week with such a childish owner 3. If you expect a fine dining experience, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!! A guy who slings out profanity left and right in front of his clientele is destined for failure. It is apparent he is well on his way. I know this is my side of the story, but trust me.... If you can find anywhere else to go... GO! There are a ton of other great restaurants where the owners will treat you with respect. Boycott NIOS!

This is a great place. Nice selection on the menu, the service is outstanding and it has a nice ambiance. They have a nice patio outside and a piano player on weekends.
Try their mussels..the best in town

Nio's is a fairly new restaurant in Louisville. It's well worth a visit. The decor is wonderful, couches, very casual but upscale. They have a great menu. If you like mussels, they have the best in town. Also a wonderful cheese plate if you just want appetizers.Ask for Daryl when you go in.He's probably the best waiter in Louisville.A nice addition to Baxter Ave.Keep an eye on this one!
