Inconsistent to the point of a terrible color job that cost over $200 to repair at another salon. Owner takes no responsibility for the work. Saw my hair was being ruined and watched it happen. I was freaking as the stylist saw my roots had gone tomato red and then she tried another ammonia based color in a haphazard way that created 2-3inch black roots.....no kidding. Then a temporary color to try to cover that. Cold surroundings with bad lighting...wonder how they can do the work.

Cons: No guarantee you will get someone who knows what they are doing!

I first saw Mariah a few months after my daughter was born. I was sleep deprived, feeling completely unsexy, and in desperate need of some TLC. I gave her the vaguest directions ("I want to feel sassy and I don't want to put a lot of work into it"), but that was all she needed to work some magic. I definitely felt sassy again and I received compliments for months after that hair cut! Every time I see Mariah, I not only get a great cut, but I have a fun time. She's a very cool woman and I'd follow her anywhere (just please don't go anywhere).

I went to Salon Blast after reading reviews on City Search and it totally lived up to the hype. Mariah is fantastic with cuts and color. I have chin length hair which isn't a lot to work with but Mariah always does something a little different that gets me tons of compliments. Just today I was in the elevator at work and a group of women said "Okay, we've voted and we love your hair". Besides making your hair look awesome, Mariah is also super cool!

I have been going to Tim for thrre years. He is an excellent stylist. He is always working on new trendy colors, and hair styles.
I like that he consistenly goes to London for education. He is a professioal, and I always look current. I highly recoomend him.

Tim gave me the best cut and color I've ever received! He spent so much time with me and knew exactly what to do with both the cut and the color. He did such a superb job. I LOVE my new hair. Today my co-workers said I looked years younger. I will recommend Tim and Salon Blast to everyone I know. You should try it too!

After searching for over a year to find a new hair salon, I finally found Salon Blast. What I discovered here was Tim, and his capable, friendly, and talented staff, whose top priority was customer satisfaction. They didn't carry my color line that I liked, so they custom ordered it for me and have been ever since I started going there, and they keep meticulous notes on the formula they use each time. Prices are reasonable too. The people are very nice there, the seating is comfortable, there's lots of light, it's a very convenient location, and they strive to offer appointment times convenient for me. Tim really is a very talented hairdresser. They offer you plenty of good CURRENT magazines laying around to pass the time while waiting on your color to process or what not. I've never had a bad experience there, and I even had the courage to get bangs cut on my very long hair for the first time in 20 years because I trusted them so much. That's saying a LOT! Great place - great people - great quality - great atmosphere - great location. What more could anyone ask for? :-)

I've never written a review like this before, and I had to create an account to write this one but I recently had my hair colored by Mariah, and I have never had so many people stop me on the street saying that they just had to tell me how wonderful my hair looks. When I went in my hair had been colored a few too many times and had lost its shine, after Mariah was done it looked better than it ever did before I damaged it! I will never go to another colorist and I would recommend her to anyone!

I really felt like this was the first time in a long time I talked to a hair stylist who listened to what I was saying. I brought in several pictures of what I thought my hair could possibly look like. The first thing Tim told me was that he was a hair stylist not Gandoff the wizard, and that he could help with improving on my expectations. We looked at the pictures, and he told me that a picture was worth a thousand words, and he cut my hair precisely like the picture. In fact it looked better then the picture.
I think the more information you bring a person the easier it is for a professional to understand what you want to accomplish. Maybe it's that I didn't really expect the impossible, and the results were better then that, and I am happy, and my hair is holding it's shape. He has a way of making you feel extra special.
Everyone seemed very friendly.

Tucked in a quaint corner of Montlake is a salon passionate about hair. Tim Wilson and his team keep themselves educated and motivated about all the latest trends in hair design and hair care. Tim keeps everyone educated about the science, the art and the emotion of HAIR. I have had wonderful cuts from both Mariah and Tim. The salon is very focused on customer satisfaction and i cannot imagine a client ever being rushed or persuaded into a decision he/she might not feel comfortable with. Just make sure you communicate, then let them be creative. Since i am fairly new to this salon, i still get asked plenty of questions about my lifestyle, hair history, wishes and peculiarities. Then i get the cut to match. If you come to Salon Blast, expect to get your head examined! Definitely a good thing every now and then!!! My time in that magic chair was truly all about me and my hair. Tim -- Thanks for another great haircut today. I know you really care. Let's see how long I continue to get comments on this one!

I had my hair colored the most beautiful brown at Salon Blast with Juan, and it has not faded, or gotten brassy... which until now I thought was absolutely impossible. My hair was cut brilliantly; not overly trendy or silly- very chic. The salon is very cool.

Tim Wilson is fabulous. My hair color is beyond my expectations. I appreciate his professionalism, kindness, talent, he is courtious and has a vibrant personality yet serene. If you are looking for high quality, beautiful, glamorous hair and a wonderful experience ask for him. The salon in general is very professional, the environment is light, airy, and everyone is very attentive. I have a very demanding schedule and I am used to high quality professional service and I found a perfect fit with their services. They are not trying to push you to buy products. They do have a very unique selection of high quality products but they gently familiarize you with their quality and benefits. I invite you to experience this place and to leave feeling and looking fabulous. I had to wait a week to get my appointment, but is was worht it. I wasn't rushed. He spent about three hours. He was very good about explaining how the colors would work against my skin. I am very pleased to have found this place

I needed my color repaired so I visited Vanessa at Salon Blast, having heard so much about it. She did an excellent job at understanding what I wanted, and spent a lot of time explaining what I needed to know, and she was very patient to make sure the result was exactly right. I got my haircut after that, and am very impressed and happy with my new look for fall. It really is picture perfect. I highly recommend them.

I am an Au Pair from Germany, and have been looking for someone with European training to work on my hair.I love Tim. He?s the only hairdresser that ever had the finesse and poise to not make me feel like a ?client?. He has a clever way of making you feel like you?re the only person in the room, and he keeps you in his quiet, calm grip for the entire hour and a half. He?s the perfect partner- even if it is only for a beautiful haircut.:)

I took the advice of this website and tried out Salon Blast. Tim butchered my hair! I told him I wanted no drastic changes and to just frame my face a little better and he HACKED FOUR INCHES OFF THE BACK! And he did nothing to the front. I look like the Dutch boy on the paint can. This is the worst salon experience I have ever had. I would have been better off going to SuperCuts or something. DO NOT COME HERE!

After my colorist in New Mexico retired, I thought I would never find someone who made haircolor and highlights so beautiful while still preserving the health of my hair. Then I learned of Mariah from my sister in law. After making my first visit I was hooked, and for the past year I have flown to Seattle to get my hair done by Mariah . I was even offered a modeling job because my 'hair color [was] ( and is ) so beautiful'. The products she uses along with her great ability allow my hair to stay soft and undamaged, not to mention the sincere hospitality experienced when I walk in the door. I have since moved to Seattle and am so happy to be closer to Mariah and the salon. Flights from Albuquerque to Seattle can get expensive multiple times a year, but it it was well worth the color, compliments and compensation from the new modeling job!

Pros: It's easy to find. The staff are all friendly.

I just turned 50, and I am about 50% gray. My hair was to the middle of my back when I came to Salon Blast. I looked older then my years, and really wasn't aware of it until my make over with Tim the owner at this business. My husband, my siblings, and all of our friends have told me to say with this guy. They said he is a miracle worker. I went in last March, and he colored my hair, and it has lasted, and looked natural until now September. I would say that's pretty good. He put in a shape that lasted just as long. My experience was very, very good. I had a good consultation before making the change. So I felt comfortable. Great job!!!!

I've had a hard time finding someone to cut my hair and address my concerns. I came across Salon Blast through citysearch and was convinced to make an appointment after reading so many excellent reviews. My experience was very similar to those described in citysearch: It was fantastic. My hair was a mess. I walked into the salon with a bad hair cut and color. My hair was also extremely dry. I was concerned about adding color to my over processed hair and having to resort to cutting the length to improve its condition. I was truly amazed to see how Vanessa transformed my hair without risking its length. I was even more shocked to see how the color correction had improved the look and feel of my hair. Vanessa is very talented. She is very confident in what she does and her confidence helped me be at ease. I felt very comfortable but more importantly I felt very hopeful that my hair was going to look better. She also enlightened me with her knowledge in hair care and provided some really good tips. I have put her advice into practice and my hair's condition and look has been so much better. I will definitely be seeking her services again.

Well......not sure why all these other people got five star cut and colors but my hair came out middle of the road. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't the most fabulous cut and color in my life either. I would describe it as, meh, middle of the road. One thing I did like was that my hair was gloriously shiny, which I received many compliments on. Tim seemed like a nice fella too. Parking is not the best, in fact it stinks, narrow residential streets that you have to parallel park on (ick!), and he doesn't take credit cards either - what the heck?!

I've held off on reviewing this salon for 2 months because I wanted to see how the cut and color lasted. I made an appointment with Tim in July for color correction, and even though I'd visited another salon (that is highly ranked on this site) a month earlier for a cut and color. I can safely say I've never worked with someone so talented -- the color is nearly perfect 2 months later, and I can still style my hair without much effort. I've never been able to say either of these things about another hairdresser, and I've seen MANY over the past 10 years. Tim took the time to talk about what I wanted to do, and what would work best long term, and explained the advantages of each choice. Not only did he do an amazing job on the cut and color, he took the time to do it right. Though the appointment was initially just for color correction, he squeezed me in for a cut at the end. Also, he had squeezed me into his schedule on the day he was leaving town for a conference and ended up spending about 3.5 hours working on my hair. I'll make it back !

Salon Blast is a haven for anyone who appreciates being listened to and understood. I have been seeing Juan for my cut and color for over three years and have followed him to Salon Blast. He is an amazing stylist and colorist and to top it off his consultations and customer service can't be beat! He's honest and if it absolutely can't be done, he'll tell you so and then work with you to find something that will work that you will probably love even more. He's is always cheerful and great to talk with during the service. Juan will make you feel like a star, the center of attention for all the right reasons!!

Let me tell you where I send all my girlfriends! Juan at Salon Blast is hands down my favorite stylist and the only person I trust to put color in hair! I have been in the Beauty Indsutry for over 6 years now and Juan has been doing my hair for most of them and I am always satisfied, leaving Salon Blast feeling better about myself and my hair. More importantly, Juan is who I recommend to all my girlfriends. Simply put, he is a miracle worker!! I also appreciate that he is very cheery and in a good mood. The Salon is very trendy. It is relatively easy to find from Bellevue. I got directions off the website google map, but don't be fooled by their directions. The Salon will give you a more efficient route.
This place insantly gives you a cosy feeling. I like that. it was easy for me to listen to some of the advice on hair coloring, and cut. I looked at pictures for about 10 minutes, and we went over exactly what I wanted. The results were just a great success.
I usually don't write reviews, but the owner was so thoughtful. He worked diligently on me for 3 hours.Very curtious. If he cann't do it, he will tell you why it won't work. That was my experience.

This is my third time returning to Salon Blast for color, and shaping. Each time I have had the equal attention, and quality level work done. In fact each time has been a little better then the last. I have seen Tim all three times. He always has an interesting story about his travel, and training. Most of which has been with Vidal Sassoon, or someone who was trained by him. My hair color, and shape has never looked better. I don't usually take the time to write comments on citysearch businesses, but after three visits, I thought it was worth describing.

I made an appointment with this salon a month out from my home in the Grand Bahama Island of Freeport. I am a business professional in Real Estate. The sun and environment are very hard on hair where I live. My hair was very damaged. I saw the owner of Salon Blast. He was extremely patient, and very skilled. The results where extradinary. I have never seen my hair this healthy, and colorful. I have seen Cristof in Las Vegas, and in New York I have had Sally Hershberger as a hairdresser. So I know good work when I see it. I do not get to Seattle often, but I will be back, and have my hair done here again. Everyone was very friendly, and welcoming. It was worth my time to take a cab from down town, and the bus back downtown.I agree with all the other reviews on citysearch. Salon Blast is the best salon in Seattle.It was worth every penny

First of all the only reason for my visit to Salon Blast is the fact that I am a long standing client of Sonya Komen. When I entered the facility I was not dissapointed as Sonya has always chosen a forward moving salon to use her talents in addressing and creating exactly what is right for each individual client. Sonya takes the time to listen to you even if she has been doing your hair for years, as is my case. Never is she locked into one mode that suits you. I have gone long, short, really short, back to medium and then started the whole thing over again. As for colour... insanely red, back to natural, platnuim blonde, natural and then foiling in several colours, I believe Sonya to be the best colour tech in SEATTLE! Sonya has a gift, she can see you and your lifestyle and create exactly what you need. I travel from Birch Bay WA to ensure that my hair is done properly. Don't think I haven't tried to find a more convenient way to deal with my locks however I have always been severly dissapointed. Sonya has other clients that travel as I do...Count your blessings if you live close. Give her a call, set up an appointment and watch the amazing transformations that Sonya can create for you just by listening and using her gift!

Mariah is absolutely amazing! I walked in to Salon Blast about 2 months ago for my first appointment with her. My hair was pulled up, leaving no attention to it. I had been on a hunt my entire life of hair to find "the one." She went through different styles and options. Mariah worked with the color I was trying to grow out, and cut my hair in a stylish, unique, and fun design. I've had so many compliments and am proud to wear my hair now. She showed me how to style it and all. She has a great personality that makes it fun to get your hair cut. I also just went in yesterday for a trim, and when left happy again. I am moving to Portland this week and plan to keep my relationship at Salon Blast here in Seattle when I come to visit family. I highly recomend Mariah for anyone!!!

So...my hair was fried. I had extensions and a couple of bad bleach jobs in Las vegas. I had recently moved to Seattle and had no idea where to start. First of all, I was scared of what a hairdresser would say. You know the kind of hair stylists that gasp with eyes wide open and call over all of thier coworkers to come touch your hair and tell you how much your hair su*ks? Thats what I was scared of. So I went looking on the web for someone... even a freelancer, who wouldnt make me feel like a git for destroying my hair. I found Salon Blast on citysearch. I called up on a Sunday and Juan answered. I asked him when his next available appt was, and to schedule me for it. Thank goodness he had a cancellation, I was in a week later. I walked in thinking that I just needed to face the music and prepare for the insults. NOPE. I walked in and Juan had just finished up with a girl who went from orange and black hair to a beautiful red. I instantly knew this man was a genius. I sat down a little nervous and he made me feel right at home. I told him I wanted to be blonde and that I was allergic to hair bleach. No problem. He went right at it. We were jammin to music and laughing so hard at everything from Family Guy to Wal Mart. I felt like I was with my best friend. My hair ...to say the least...is beautiful. I always wondered why some people who deal with the public on a regular basis can be so nasty and downright rude. Salon Blast was a breath of fresh air. No catty, rude, gossipy hair stylists...just perfectionists...artists at work.

I have been going to Sonya for 18 years and I can't ever remember one time that I wasn't thoroughly pleased. She understands me, my hair, and what styles work for me. Over the years the styles have changed (no kidding!!) and Sonya has always been right on top of it. My hair is very fine and not very thick and her styles and color give me a look I didn't think I could have. I can't tell you how many people have stopped me and asked where I get my hair done. She is a genius with color. She highlights my hair with 3 different shades giving my hair interest, body and a look totally natural...just better!! And she is just a cool person too. My son came into town for a ski trip this winter and a friend of his who is in school to become a stylist experimented with color on his hair and.. let's just say... he wouldn't take his hat off it was so bad. He was embarrassed and the guys would have fun teasing him. I called Sonya and she totally fixed the problem within hours of picking him up at the airport! He couldn't believe it and neither could I!! Sonya rocks!!

I have been getting my hair colored, and cut for over ten years by Tim. He has never given me anything short of the very best. I would recommend him with the highest of regards. He is always polite, personable, and very professional. He usualy has a slightly new change for me each year. I am conservative, and he always seems to respect that, and yet still manages to give me something satisfying, and fashionable without going over the top.

The hair designers are very professional and always do a great job. They have a consultation before starting and explain what they recommend based on the face shape and hair texture and your lifestyle. The colorist are excellent with the multi dementional colors and all over color depending on your hair. I highly recommend Salon Blast!

Tim Wilson is the best and funniest stylest! I love all his great spirit and his real love and passion for hair! I have known tim for years and his salon is fabulous. Go tim cant wait to see all the great new styles you learned in london! I hope you had a "blast"

He took my hair from really dead, and dry, and added a really soft color which added a lot of shine to it. Juan got me right in The same day I called. We had a good consultation. He has knack for doing hair. I am in my early 40's, and my hair is begining to gray, and loose it's natural shine. Now it looks better, and feels a lot healthier. I would rate him very, very highly. It took a while for my hair to absorb the color, but is was worth the wait. My co workers have all commented on how nice I look. Finally something looks good.

She is a very talented colorist. My hair has more shine. I had her reverse my color. She said it add a lot of shine. She was right. It came out as shiny as glass. Vanessa is the best hair colorist that I have founf in Seattle. We really liked the atmosphere. It is a very professional Salon. You can tell they take a lot of pride in their work. This was a very good find.

My sister and I have been getting our hair colored by many salons, and most of the time we end up looking like we have the same cut. We told Juan to give us something very fresh, trendy, and different from one another. My hair has always been a challenge to color. I like blonde, blonde, and it always turns out looking like wheat. Juan did it. I am blonde. He really listened to me intently. I am very perceptive to people. He is a very pleasant attentive designer. He told me about his backround in fashion as a designer for Bebe, and his years as an educator in coloring which gave me enough confidence to let him attempt something new..
I am very impressed.
The Salon is really trendy. it looks like the secret is out about this place. It went from quite when we arrived to scrambling with busy smiling workers ingaged in their artful skill. The rest of the workers offered us refreshments, and gave me a welcomed vibe.
I found the salon on google. I enterd the best hair salon in seattle, and best hair dresser in seattle, and they kept coming up.

My sister, and I had Juan color our hair. We told him that people are always trying to make us look alike, and we wanted something different.
He is a good listener. He repeated back to me in a language I understood exactly what we I was telling him. Then he talked to us about our head shape, and skin tones. I have never had anyone take so much time show ing me pictures.I really liked him. I wanted something fun,and different. he discribed the way the colr would work , and how the shape would accent my eyes. Wow what i wonderful change. I AM VERY INSPIRED BY HIS ABILITY
He is very professional. He didn't a lot about movies books, or mundane things. He did a fantastic job of cutting .I am very pleased.

I got my gray covered, and it hasn't faded in five weeks. After moving here from California, I have tried several Salons in Seattle. This is the one I am keeping. My last hairdresser told me that my color faded fast because it was gray, and I just believed him. I found Tim at salon blast. He told me that some of the newer colors had more color pigmentation, and they lasted. I am really happy with this business. I really recommend it

My sister has been goign to Salon Blast for a number of years. She has been pleading with me to get something done with my hair for quiet awhile. Tim examined the way my hair was growing, and how it would rest after he reshaped it.. He showed me a lot of photos of what would work with my face, and exactly what colors would flatter my dull looking hair. We looked at a few pictures from his website of shapes, and colors he thought would fit my life style. It really worked.
I came out better then I imagined. My hair has more shine, and feels softer then it ever has in the past.

I have been getting my coloring done with Tim for alittle over 16 years. This is what why I love him. He has never been passive with my hair color , or shape. He has been enthusiastic about working in really great,great styles from day one., and every visit since has been concentrated, and contemporary. HE Has drilled into me that my hair is my number on accessary .
He has an amazing history with hair, and is very scholarly, and respectfull to the people in is trade.
I know he travels alot to London where he works with, and as a student at Vidal Sassoon. He speaks so highly of Vidal Sassoon.
I am so greatfull for all the time, and tireless effort he has given to my hair.

I have recently had my second hair appointment with Tim at Salon Blast and I have to say it was just as satisfying and enjoyable as my first. I am an asian american with long, thick hair, and I normally find it difficult to find the most flattering hairstyle since not many people have such long, waist-length hair. When I arrived at Salon Blast for the first time I immediately felt welcome, comfortable, and Tim showed interest in getting to know me, as a person, and wanted to know all my concerns, thoughts, ideas, and questions I had as to what I wanted my hair to look like. I went into the first appointment wanting to get a beautiful long, layered, jessica-simpson look and Tim met, if not exceeded, my expectations. During my second appointment, I went in not knowing what kind of look I wanted, and I still left two hours later with a great cut that gave character back to my heavy hair. It amazed me how Tim still remembered me and what haircut he had given me at my first appointment, even after not seeing me again for a few months.

i highly recommend going to salon blast. If not for the talented, well-educated and professional individuals that work there, for the friendly, fun and comfortable environment they provide. Everyone at Salon Blast are people people, and you can tell that they definitely love what they do.

Everyone in the shop is very friendly and Vanessa is fantastic! She is exceptional with color and I love the cut she gave me. She really listened to what I wanted (and didn't want) and had great suggestions for color that goes with my complexion. Since I found Vanessa, I wont let anyone else touch my hair. I drive 45 minutes to get to Salon Blast, but well worth the drive! Fun little Salon not far off of 520, very easy to find.

I always get so many compliments when Vanessa does my hair. She is so patient and listens to what you want to do. She always has ideas and suggestions if you cant decide what exactly you want to do. I moved here from Arizona 6 months ago with a disastourist Hair color. One of my colleagues from the University of Washington highly recommended that I give Salon Blast a chance to fix my hair. It was the best recommendaton I could have possibly received. I am Hispanic. My hair is dark, and my prievious hair dresser tried to make me a blond. My hair was damaged,dried, and broken. Tim reinvented me. He restored the shine, and colored my entire head with glowing highlights, and an all over color. He gave me what he called an Emo shape. Something he learned in London. Honestly I look at myself ever time I walk by a mirror, and cann't believe it's the same person.
Salon Blast is a very personable salon. Their work is 5 star.

This is my 6th year with Salon Blast. I get Red Carpet service. Tim has been my colorist. He has done a great job of tailoring my hair, and keeping me pretty happy with great looking color. I get a lot of compliments from strangers. Tim tells me my number one accessary is my hair.
The Salon has a trendy feel, and all of the stylist are genuine, and very friendly.

Pros: I love the Loma Paritan shampoo, and conditioner

I am forever on the quest to find the best hairstylist for my crazy hair, and have been to a lot of different salons and I've found the best hairstylist in Juan. My hair is very thick, very curly, very coarse and very dry. I saw Juan yesterday, and he gave me a cut that works for my hair - I can wear it curly OR straight. Usually, when I see a stylist, I leave with too many layers or the cut is just not what I wanted. Juan really listened to what I wanted and gave me the best hair cut! When I got home, I received a ton of compliments from my sisters and girlfriends. I won't be going back to my gal at Gary Manuel! The parking was free and it didn't take me a half an hour to find parking either!! It was a fantastic experience all the way around!

Juan was amazing!
Ha gave me the cut and color I have always wanted. He is patient and listened to my every need. By far the best look I have ever had. Parking was free. There was no waiting. I Highly recommend Juan. Cant wait to go back!

I also visited Salon Blast based on all the great reviews it has received and my experience was just as wonderful as everyone said it would be! I was a bit nervous walking into a new salon and trusting a new stylist, because since February, I have been recovering from a very bad haircut that I received from a highly recommended salon in Bellevue. But, my nerves immediately disappeared once Tim started studying my hair. He was like a detective investigating a crime scene as he examined the wreckage performed by my last stylist. Upon his completion, there wasn?t a hair on my head that went unnoticed by Tim. His analysis: with the information I gave him on how I liked to style my hair, he recommended that I grow it out before making any big changes. He said he would perform anything that I wanted, but stated that based on the look I was aiming for (and the recovery of my curl) he thought it would be best to hold off on a cut until my length increased. I was so impressed by how well he listened to my wishes and concerns as well as his honesty about what he thought was the best solution. I ended up leaving the salon with a trim, (which really improved my look) and a little color (partial foil), which I just love! Without a doubt, I will be back to see Tim for more color as well as a haircut and style in the future. Tim, You Rock! - Alex
