The Children's Pre-School Center (CPSC) was recommended to me by a friend of a friend, and I visited it 3 years ago and I remember I didn't like it because of the somber atmosphere in the infants room. I gave it another try for pre-K, being impressed with the rich curriculum they have even if it's not a Montessori-based school.

First, they have renovated the infants rooms, they weren't as gloomy as I remember.

The Senior Pre-K looked nice I remember, the kids were at circle time and I liked the class.

But the Junior pre-K has the toilets in the same room, just on the other side of a small wall from the play and eating areas!

I don't remember anything remarkable about the toys in the class, but I'm comparing to Montessori materials and that's not the case.

So this might be a nice school with programs from infants (6wks) up to kindergarten, with a play-based emergent program and lots of extra curriculum activities (Spanish, gym, dance, music, again they make the most out of the nice Cubberly Center location) , but I really didn't like the Junior class and it's too pricey for the play-based program I think (and all the extra activities are extra fees ...)
