This week, my friends and I were in a Burger type mood, so we tried out Jucy??s on fifth street. First impressions were not too good, since the building looked unclean and in bad repair. The floor was strewn with food bits and trash, in the kitchen as well as the dining room, but we made some concessions, because we came just after the lunch rush. The roof leaked, right over the area where we stood in line to order. Water fell into two huge buckets, mostly, but some of it landed on my head as well.

The food was good and there was lots of it. Burgers dripped with grease, like they are supposed to. Why go to a burger joint if you don??t want a greasy, drippy burger? That??s what it??s all about. My BLT was loaded down with plenty of bacon and the chicken-fried steak on my friend??s steak plate almost overlapped the edge of the plate.

Prices were reasonable and we left, satisfied. After the eating began, the floor and the leaky roof were forgotten.
