Country Day Little School left me with an odd feeling.
I??ve visited this school because, well ? I need to find a nice preschool for my kid and although I was looking for a Montessori preschool and I didn??t know a thing about the Waldorf education I wanted to find out more about this too. Also, I liked the child-teacher ratio and teacher education advertised in their website.

That visit made me even more curious, but I??ll have to research this another time ??cause here??s the reason I won??t consider this particular school for now.

First, I liked the location, it??s in a community center, green & serene, buildings around a courtyard I remember. I feel a little bit of hope :-) Here it is, it looks ? different, like a farmhouse lost in time, and I??m not saying that??s bad, just a bit curious for Silicon Valley these days :-) I??m more curious every second.

It was the end of the day, so there were only a couple of kids and the teachers were getting ready to close the school and leave, so I??ve asked them for more info and how to schedule a visit. And you have to pay 100$ for the parent visit of an hour or so, which I don??t even mind that much if that will find me the nice school I??m looking for. BUT, I wanted to bring my kid after that so I can see if she??s comfortable in that new environment too before signing her up. And you cannot bring the kid in before deciding, their philosophy is that the parent knows better what??s good for the kid and decides without asking the kid, and while this might be practically true, there are some ??nuances? I don??t quite agree with in here ?

So while I??ll probably visit the school for my own curiosity when I??ll have some extra time, I will not choose this school for my kid because I think that kids should learn what they like or want for themselves too and parents should listen to their kids too ?
