I called because I needed to see a dr with no appointment, and I got in. The area was neat and professional and so was Dr Allison, I have bee to him several times before and have watched his practices grow and he still remembered me. He is busier now but I dont agree with the other reviews, to me he was courteous and detailed my problem and scheduled me for a followup visit which I wanted in case i didnt feel better later. The other reviews sound like they need a therapist to liste to them not a dr,get a life for pete's sake , for me I dont want to be there long just diagnose my problem and on my way, I have to pick up the children, soccer practices, hair appointment, etc. .I having been going to him for many years and would recommend him for family care.

Dr. Allison is very rude and uncaring, as well as his staff. You make a appointment which is really a waste of time b/c they do not go by appointments its the order you sign in. The ladies(staff) talk about patients in front of the entire lobby rude comments, and medical information. They ask what your reason is for the visit and if you do not want to say b/c the entire lobby is right there they become very rude. The office area is somewhat clean, but the kids area is horrible. The toys are filthy I would not touch them more less let my kids. Sick children play with these things, mucus on them yet they are not ever cleaned. You wait over and hour before they take you to the exam room, then another 30+ min.. The dr. finally comes in for a whole 1min. He is looking at his laptop the entire time, told me to move from the exam table to a chair in the corner so he could set his laptop down. I tried to explain what was going on I said maybe ten words before he interupted, said I had 'this', and told me to follow him. He makes the Rx on his laptop and send it to a printer where the girls are. I get up to the window she grabs Rx from printer stamps his signature and hands it to me w/o him even so much at glancing at it to make sure it was right. Then she tells me he wants lab work done and the reason is due to fatigue? I went in for a foot problem. Its just about money does not care wbout us.

Do not go to this doctor. I waited for 3 hours for my appointment. 2 hours in waiting room 1 hour in exam room. The staff is very rude. They get confused very easily probably due to overbooking and lack of training. I can not imagine why anyone continues to stay with him. He is very rude. Treats the patient like he is doing them a favor. The other reviews throughout the web reflect just how horriable this doctor is. Please dont waste your time, money and integrity on the physician. Hes attached more to his laptop then his patients. If you like being treated insanely bad and spoke to like a dog then this is your doctor.

Me and my family have been going to Dr. Allison for about 2 years and we have NEVER been seen on time!!! The wait is 60-90 minutes EVERY TIME. They never even apologize for the wait! The past few times I have been in, there is an angry mom or patient at the desk going off about the service. The support staff are cold and non-caring. The only way to speed things up is to go up and say something to the staff and then they move you up. Then you wait in the exam room for ever! The MA's are incompetent, they don't know how to take a manual BP and they always take your BP standing up so it is ALWAYS way to high. I tell them that it is not right and they just ignor what I say. There is no way my BP can be 230/190!!!!

My kids have been going to Dr. Allison for about 5 years off and on. Before he moved his practice he was the ideal Dr. However ever since he has moved things have really changed. First of all you can no longer see him you have to see a Nurse Practitioner. This is the second time she has written and he has signed off for the wrong prescription. For the last 2 months almost every visit they are trying to get me to take my kids to the hospital for lab work, mri, etc... My daughter had lab work done Thurs. and the pharmacy told me that the meds she prescribed don't even come in that dosage. Out of 3 prescriptions I was only able to get one. She also forgot to write a script for one of the meds. Of course they want me to bring her in tom. to see why she is still having the same symptoms. Duuhhh She has not started taking all the meds DR and NP. I have not seen Dr Leslie Allison nor will they let u talk to him. I also have to take her in every 30 days to get a script that I know they can prescribe every 60-90 days. We are the parents of six kids and we will be switching them tom. We don't have time to keep running to the Dr and hospital every other week unnecessarily.

Can you imagine a doctor office without Oximeter? I went this office with the difficulty of breathing! I was diagnosed with bronchitis without checking SpO2! Can you believe it!. This Oximeters cost as low as $100 looks like they can not afford it!!! Also I agree with other comments, They make appointment and they dont keep tract of appointment times.

I went for my annual physical and then for a follow-up visit. The first time, they had lost the appointment and made me wait for more than an hour just to go into the smaller waiting room! The staff were not efficient and did not even try to make up for their error in losing the appointment. After another half hour in the smaller waiting room, I had to "get attention" to finally see the doctor. Dr. Allison did okay but the whole experience was frustrating. He did not even write my name correctly on the prescription for lab tests and EKG (It shows a lack of attention to the patient), and wrote incorrectly "fatigue" as the reason! The lab technician said that Dr. Allison uses that reason a lot, even for a four-year old child once. I had to call from the lab several times before Dr. Allison's office would fax the correct prescription. In case you are wondering, it makes a difference with the insurance coverage.

I agree with the other reviewer about unnecessary follow-up visit. It is just another way to make money.

Avoid this outfit, as there are plenty of good physicians around.

Doctor's must be careful in the age of the internet when people will take the time to write reviews. All prior reviews are accurate, yes there is a wait, yes he is kind and thorough, however, prior reviews were dead on about the follow up visits. He will not write prescriptions for longer than 30 days and his reasoning was because they are psychotropic, which made sense. However, birth control???

I myself have waited a long time to see this doctor however I have been able to walk in with out an app., instead of waiting days.
Even though I have waited for hours at times he has also spent alot of time with me. So, if you wish to have a doctor who will sit and talk and listen to your problems then you have to respect the fact that he will be doing this with the person he see's before you.
I have been to the doctors who are the IN-and-OUT type, I perfer the doctors who will take the time to make sure everything is OK

I really like Dr Allison. I have been there and waited a long time like the other review says, but Ive been in and out before too. He always remembers my name and asks about my kids. He is the only doctor I know of that takes walk ins so I dont have to wait days for an appointment if I'm sick and need to see him immediately. I have found nothing but A+ service from him. I dont use him for my annual female exam, I use a gyno, so I dont know about that. I highly recommend him to anyone who whats a doctor who treats you like a person and not a checkbook.

I??ve been to this clinic for 4 appointments. One for a simple cold with a lingering cough. 2 follow-ups to that which I don??t think were necessary. And one appointment for an annual female exam.

Dr. Allison seems to be a nice man and a competent doctor. However, I have problems with how he runs his clinic.

1)He plans to have his patients wait a long time. My typical wait is 60-70 minutes, about half in the waiting room and half in the exam room. He arrives daily at 10 AM, according to his nurses. But my appointments are usually scheduled for 9:30, 30 minutes prior to his arrival. Ridiculous! And if you try to book for 10 AM, you??re told to expect a wait because he??s already behind for the day.
2)He orders unnecessary tests and follow-up visits. He ordered extensive bloodwork in addition to chest x-rays (and tried to order an EKG!) for me, an otherwise healthy young woman with a cough. My cold was completely gone 2 weeks later, with no complications and only cough syrup required. How??s that for over-testing?
3)He requires too many follow-up appointments. I??ve heard from other patients that he??s required as many as 4 visits for what other docs would require 1-2.
4)He will not give test results without an office visit. I went in for a annual female check-up, and he only gives pap-smear results in a follow-up appointment. Every other doc I??ve been to will send a postcard if the results are negative.. but not Dr. Allison.
5)He writes prescriptions for a maximum of 30 days. Sounds adequate for most medicines, but what about birth control pills? I normally get a 12-month prescription when I go in for an annual exam. This office only writes 1 month at a time, and the staff tried telling me I??d have to come in monthly for a new prescription. Outrageous!
6)He??s over-staffed. I counted 6 women in the front office, and I believe there were a few nurses in the back. It??s no wonder he over schedules appointments and test ?? he has a lot of mouths to feed!

Patient beware. There are plenty of good doctors to go to in the Katy area; I??d recommend trying any of the other ones.
