Good breakfast, if you can stand the weekend crowds.

The Mission at 1250 J Street is a great little place for coffee and breakfast. Now that the ballpark area is becoming upscale, this lovely restaurant, in a restored historic building, has become a mecca for young attractive locals on weekend mornings.
The Mission bills its food as Chino Latino. [Are we taking this fusion thing too far?] But they do pull it off with considerable style and grace. The staff is relaxed. The food is great. The building is charming. The girl-watching is outstanding.
Two negatives: Long waits and interior din.
Still...this place is hard to resist.
