They are helpful when you're buying, but worthless when you have a problem with your gown. Amanda's ordered me the wrong size dress. When I went in to try it on, Amanda said "Well you're going to lose weight, right?" I said "I guess I'm going to have to; it doesn' fit." My fiance was furious and told me that I was not going to try to lose weight to squeeze into the dress. When I called the shop, I was told that Amanda was on vacation and would call me back. She never did. An awful woman who works for her told me that they didn't feel the dress was too small. And she actually said, "YOU ordered a size 6." I didn't order anything. Amanda measured me and ordered the size, based on a size chart. And meanwhile, I was wearing all the same clothes, so I didn't put on weight.

Amanda's refused to refund me for the dress. I was out the $1100 for the dress, the $200 for the matching veil, the $400 for matching jewelry, and $100 on the underskirt - $1800 total. I went to to La Belle Elaine's in Fisher Plaza, where I was treated awesome and found a beautiful Badgley Mischka ballgown at a sample sale. La Belle Elaine's is a much nicer, more classy store - by far. Shame on Amanda's for not working with me to get a properly fitting dress or refunding any portion of it. I felt like since they had my money, they did not care about what happened to me.

Pros: None

Cons: Would not refund any portion of gown

I had a wonderful experience shopping at Amanda's Bridal. It can be hard to find a happy medium between outlet type stores that remind you of Walmart and fancy couture salons that make you feel poor and ashamed to even walk in the door. Amanda's is right in between with a good selection of affordable dresses by QUALITY budget designers like Alfred Angelo and Maggie Sottero. These are not David's Bridal dresses people!

I did a dumb thing and walked in with no appointment on a Saturday. The ladies were very accomodating and helped me ayway. The consultant really listened to what I wanted and what I liked and didn't like about each dress to come up with lots of amazing suggestions. Though I ended up finding my dress elsewhere, I really appreciated the great service and selection here.

After looking at five other big shops in Seattle, I went to Amanda's on advice of a friend. They were very helpful and knowledageable, and carried designers that other shops didn't. Very affordable gowns, too, which was a very happy surprise. Their ordering and alternations skills were top notch. I had a very good experience there and found a stunning gown for half the price of other stores. Well worth seeking out!

Don't be fooled by their somewhat lame display window; this store has a huge selection of beautiful and *very* affordable dresses (some under $100!). Their "back room" of discontinued dresses has some really beautiful and unique selections at great prices. (If you're shopping in this section, be sure to get one of the staff to help you find dresses in your size, since it's very hard to find the right size if you're not familiar with the inventory.) I'd recommend making an appointment for this reason, though they were very accommodating when I showed up without one. I ended up buying my wedding dress here... what better recommendation is there?
