.

This is a group modelled after the Freecycle concept (http://www.freecycle.org), where members can post wanteds or offers for used items in an effort to both keep stuff out of the landfills -and- prevent unnecessary consumption of new materials by sourcing hand me down items that might otherwise go to the landfill.

Members use a yahoo egroup to post their requests or offers and everything must be free, no money or other trade exchanges. Items are considered "gifts."

This group is an alternative to the Russellville Sharecycle group which suffers some severe singlehanded management problems. Many of that groups members have been rejected, dismissed, disrespected, and disgruntled. Many find their way to the Sharecycle group. Some have even started a poll petition online to gather signatures from disgruntled Freecycle members in hopes that district management might replace the problematic leadership. You can find that at: http://www.thepetitionsite.com/takeaction/992211227?ltl=1173153110

This group, on the other hand... is a much more pleasant experience. The managers keep a lighter hand and let the freesharing happen without a dramatic, rude, and tightfisted micromanagement style. It's not as big as the local Freecycling group, as they don't have the benefit of the Freecycle national network website to point members to them. But, hopefully, they'll grow by word of mouth and word will reach everyone who leaves the problematic Russellville Freecycle group, either by force or by choice.
