I just moved to Philly and called a few salons in the midst of a hair color disaster after picking up some Feria (liars) from Walgreens. My hair was a horrible black (the hardest color to get out) and I desperately just wanted to be a brunette again. The folks at DNA immediately handed the phone to Tim who talked me through it and told me to come in that afternoon for a consultation. I went in a few days later for the full color correction treatment and Tim gave me exactly what I was looking for. I'm back to being a brunette and he even gave me a conditioning treatment for free. The staff is excellent - friendly and professional. The price was way less than expected. But when it comes down to it - i feel amazing!! Tim and everyone at DNA did a fabulous job. Thank you to all of them. There is a reason they were chosen as the best in Philly by Elle Magazine!!

Was recommended to dna salon by a coworker and it was a great experience. The salon is great and Maryanne gave me the best color and highlights. 5 stars to the salon and Maryanne, they made me feel very welcome. Front desk manager was very professional and cordial, like the accent.

DnA Salon has professional - well-educated hair stylists in the heart of Northern Liberties -

Located right in Liberties Walk - the stylists provide great educational tips to clients teaching them how to make hair look its best. They offer wonderful hair and scalp treatments and the salon has one of the top colorists in Philadelphia: Tim Nork.

The salon owners, Angi and Derek, hence the name DnA, are dedicated and welcoming to all clients that walk through the door - Angi and Derek are also very active members of the Northern Liberties neighborhood which adds to the culture and sophistication of the salon.

As someone who has had my hair cut in some of the top-rated salons in New York and Chicago - I can honestly say I have never been disappointed. I highly recommend the salon -

I called DNA Salon on Tuesday to schedule a first time appointment for an up-do this Saturday with Cassie. The person I spoke to said he would need to call me back. It is now Thursday and still no call back. I checked my voicemail and caller id and nothing says DNA Salon. I thought with all the good reviews on City Search, I'd give them a try since the salon I normally go to was booked. Good thing, I was able to schedule an appointment with another salon in the city. First impressions count and they failed in that department. I can't rate the salon on the way they do hair, so as far as customer service, I would have to say bad! very bad!

I went today for the first time as a walk-on. I called them and left a message. Someone called me back in a few hours. I was going to fix a horrible cut I got someplace else. Everyone was so friendly and they did an awesome job on my hair. I also got a wonderful head massage during the shampoo/conditoner time. The salon is very clean and chic. The music wasn't so loud and I was able to carry on a conversation with the stylist. I absolutely loved them and would use them regularly again. Just keep in mind they are on the expensive side but it's worth every penny.

Heard about the fake post and had to write. The salon is wonderful and the staff are very polite and talented. I have been a client for 2 years and live around the corner from the salon in Northern Liberties for 10years, and know the salon very well.

I spoke with the owners and they know who posted the prior fake post. Has nothing to do with the salon, it's a really jealous spouse and not even a client. I guess all this salon drama comes with the territory.

Keep up the good work, DNA Salon. You are an asset to Northern Liberties.

I had my hair cut and colored at DNA salon, I had to ring a few times to get an appointment, as the phone went to voice mail, but I persisted as I had been recommended by a friend of mine in NY who had had Charles do her hair and loves it. He was wonderful, patient and attentive, and I left the salon thrilled with my hair. The salon is unbelievably noisy. The music is some alternative rock; very punky and so so loud it can be heard over the dryers. I wanted to relax. My hair looks great, but I couldn?t enjoy the experience because of the noise! Oh and also, the receptionist had a bad attitude, no eye contact! I am not sure why? The trashcan sat overflowing!

Pros: The noise, difficult to get the phone answered by the sour receptionist!

First I would like to say it is hard to rate a salon that refuses to provide service. I called and asked to speak to Rick regarding hair extensions. I was told he would call me back. I called a total of 4 times and still no return call. I was willing to commute 2 hrs and drop a pretty penny for the service. Being in the spa industry for ten years I can not understand how this slipped threw the cracks. 4 times!!! I quess it just wasn't meant to be!!

I was visiting in Phily and going to a wedding.
Wnated to get my hair done, blowdry and a cut. I do have very fine hair, frizzy ... very hard to handle.
I came out with beautifull straight hair that latsted for few days and a nice hair cut.
The stylist was so attentive to my request and directions. I am quite picky with my hair.
The managment was pampering me with drinks and making me confortable.
It was a joyfull experience for someone from out of town. I was treated like I was regular customer.

My experience at DNA was OUTSTANDING! The previous day I had an appointment at nearby Ovations salon and left disappointed, so I made an appointment at DNA to have my hair fixed. It was my first time at DNA and I had Charles, who was the sweetest, most attentive stylist. I had never had my hair short, let alone had it dyed and he was ever so nice and encouraging in talking me through the hairstyle. He made sure I left with a smile on my face and I couldn't be happier. The staff didn't care how much time it took, as long as I was happy. Rick washed my hair and was ever so nice and gentle. I love my hair and I consider DNA my salon and Charles my stylist now!!!

I wanted to thank DnA Salon for the wonderful job they did with my hair extensions. I have been wanting Great Lengths for a while and finally did it. They extensions look wonderful and they even put highlights through my hair. Now I have long and thick hair with highlights that won't fade. I am truly "camera ready".

I am very impressed with the salon and my stylists. My hair looks great and the shampoos and conditioners they use are exceptional. I usually pay extra for special conditioners. Nice job.

My experience at DNA Salon was 5 stars awesome. This is my second color visit and I am always very pleased with my results. The salon is super cool with a great vibe. The scalp message was amazing and it is part of the shampoo. Be sure to ask for Rick. My stylist was late but worth the wait.

I have been going to DnA for about a year and a half now and have never once left feeling anything less then estatic about my hair or my treatment by the the staff and owners. Any negative feedback you hear in regards to this Salon can most likely be attributed to one of two things 1.) opening jitters (they opened about 2 years ago, and like any business saw some initial staff turnover and organizational issues) or 2.) an immature former staff member who can't get over the fact that he was asked to leave. Tim, who along with the salon has received numerous, well deserved awards and accolades, styles my very thick, very curly hair brilliantly; making it easy for me to wear it both straight and curly. I trust him so much that I even let him cut off 11 inches of my hair a few months back. I thought I would look terrible with short hair, but it ended up looking great. The cut and style fit my face perfectly. I don't think I have ever received so many compliments. Anyway, Great Job DnA! Thank you to Tim, Angie, Derek, Aja, Tara and everyone else who makes me look forward to visiting DnA.

Last week I got the Brazilian keratin treatment at DNA Salon and so far I am very happy. My hair is over processed and frizzy so I was not a candidate for their Japanese straightener. After discussing the condition of my hair they recommended their latest treatment and it has been a delight. My hair is smooth and shiny. My blowdrying time is down to 10minutes with salon quality blowdrying. This treatment is huge in Florida and NYC; I am so happy I don't have to drive to NYC to get it done.

I was SOO unhappy about the service and style at this salon!!DNA is nothing like you hear or read about!my hair cut and color did not meet my wants at all!I saw aja and i think she wasn't even listening to what i said.I called back and no one even aswered the phone.What is up with this salon if you can even call it that...i will check out closet fever they sound from what i hear the best!DNA same on you!! If you open a salon it should be a real one!!!!

Well i have been trying to find my stylist for amost a mmonth now.I called Dna and the phone rang and rang!Finally when answered i asked to see christopher.The man on the phone said he wasn/t working there anymore i asked where he was.His reply was that there was someone else that could do a great job!I Told him that i have been going to Christopher for 7 years!! Well i found him by luck or fate at Vanity on 1128 Walnut street (215-925-2211)My hair color and cut rock!!!I felt so amazing when i left!I actually met someone on the way back to bucks county!Christopher thankyou as always!

I am very happy with the color and service. Aja was my stylist over the weekend and I am very impressed by her experience and talent. I give DNA Salon two thumbs up and will recommend them to all of my friends. The prices were fair, I have paid a lot more and gotten the same, although I like Aja's color best.

I had been going to DNA for about a year now, i live in liberties walk so its very convenient. Well after my stylist left DNA, i made an apt with a different stylist. At my first appointment with her she was 20 min late then canceled my apt so she could go to the Best of Philly party, but offered me a free haircut the next day. Great i thought, things happen, no worries and i get a free haircut. Well, the next day i come in and wait and wait and wait. She doesn't even come to the front to apologize or say how long she will be. After an HOUR I tell the receptionist that I'm leaving, he fains an apology (he didn't even offer me a drink when he offered a woman who was also waiting). Getting my appointment canceled twice in two days is unacceptable for any business. Apparently getting in Best of Philly has swollen a lot of heads over at DNA.

Well i checked out dna recently and was sooo unhappy with my services.I had highlites done and a cut.My hair was so dry afterwards and my stylist told me i should get a treatment.Well my hair wasn't in that condition to begin with!!My haircut was really uneven and so thin at the bottom it looks like i need another haircut!I will never recommend this salon.I don't know how they get good ratings. I was talking in the office about dna and tree other girls have had trouble with them.They were saying that every time they go in there they pay more and get the same services done.Best no way!!

After reading Philly Style "Best of 2007" I decided to get out of Rittenhouse and travel to Northern Liberties to DNA Salon for an appointment with Tim Nork, afterall, he did win best color. Giving this new salon and their exceptional stylist a try was the best hair decision I have ever made.

I have never been happier with the entire salon experience and the stylist. The staff at DNA Salon is amazing. Parking was convenient and free (located behind the salon). TIm Nork gave me his undivided attention during our consultation and truly listened to what I wanted.

Thanks Tim and DNA Salon for a job well done, you just earned a new and happy client.

I was a client today and the news was there taping the best salon in town. I was so impressed by the salon, the staff is exceptional, and the salon is beautiful. I have had years of frusterating hair salon experiences, (I lived in NYC for 3 years, and was never satisfied- even with the expensive salons) where hairdressers didn't really listen to me and understand what I was looking for, especially in terms of color. I wanted to fix my hair from a previously bad coloring, and saw the great reviews for DNA on Citysearch. I decided to give it a try- what did I have to lose! Number one, I never knew Liberties Walk existed, and it is a great little area with PARKING! I was greeted by a warm staff in the salon, and Tim really took the time to talk with me about my color. He FINALLY got it right. After years and years of being frusterated and not 100% happy with my color, he nailed it to the T. He also gave me an incredible cut. I went out last night and got tons of compliments!! DNA is both classy by down to earth. I couldn't be happier with my hair, and that is saying a lot after all of my trials and errors. I am pretty sure I have finally found "my" salon!! Highly highly recommended.

First let me start off by saying that I think it's awesome that there is ample parking (free parking lot) so I don't have to search for parking (like in Center City) - that was their first plus. Once in the salon I was greeted by a friendly receptionist who offered me coffee, tea, water, or WINE! I was a first time client and I was scheduled to see Chris M. I LOVE HIM! He's so easy to talk to and gives great hair advice. I have very long hair and am VERY HARD TO PLEASE. I'm very cautious with anyone who touches my hair! Chris was fabulous and meticulous (which is a must for me)! I left DnA salon looking and feeling so beautiful. The layers he put in my hair are gorgeous. I still can't stop looking in the mirror! Chris even wrote a "prescription" for my hair as to what products to use, etc. Another plus...first time clients get 10% off!

After reading all of the great reviews, and being new to the area, I had to try this salon. I am very pleased with the service and my stylist. I have been to this salon 2 times. First for highlights and then for the Keratin treatment. My hair looks and feels amazing. I have never had this Keratin treatment before and I am so happy my stylist, Chris, recommended it to me. 5 stars to DNA Salon.

I usually go to NYC to get my hair done and visit my college friends, but after my experience at DNA Salon I will gladly return and become a very loyal client. My wife wanted me to cover my some of my gray ( i am 100%), but not all of it, and my stylist, Tim, was able to do so and give me an awesome cut. All the stylists at DNA Salon are very skilled and the place is the best in the city. Very welcoming. My wife actually goes to another guy there, Chris and she is very happy. My guy was available for the day I needed and I am very happy with the service he provided. I told them i would write an awesome review since they are such a cool and new hot spot. Actually my wife told me to write my experience on city search and I better listen to her. Thanks dude!

I just moved to Philadelphia from Boston and I must say DNA Salon is an awesome boutique salon. The place is beautiful, service is superior and my stylist gave me the best hair cut and color. I was use to my top salons in Boston and yes, a bit spoiled. However, DNA Salon did exceed my expectations. Highly recommend.

My hair has been stringy and damaged for years. When I went in for a routine cut, the ish treatment was recommended to fix my problem. I am thrilled with the results! It absolutely helped and now my hair is shiny, healthy and beautiful!

I discovered DNA salon via their myspace page, and took advantage of the 10% discount offered to myspace members. I was very happy with my stylist Tim. He took the time to find out what I was looking for in cut and color, and really listened to me before making his own suggestions. I left VERY happy with him and will be returning to see him in the future!!!

I am VERY dissatified with DNA salon. I spent about 6 1/2 hours for just a cut and color, spent almost 300 dollars, and purchased products that I was very dissatified with. The salons location and stylist experience is NOT worth the price. It was very disorganized and under staffed. I was referred from a friend who went to a stylist that she was happy with and I originally requested her, I was not notified before being sent to the junior stylist. Now I dont know what to do because I was placed under a dryer for 2 hours and I'm not sure my frail hair can handle anything more. :( I do not recommend dna salon.

I recently got my hair cut/colored at dna salon and I must say I was taken back by the beauty of the salon and the high quality products. But myy stylist only has 3 years experience and did an okay job on my hair. I am not as pleased as the others that have posted. My hair is just average as if i went to a high end hair cuttery. Sorry dna:(

In my 29 years, this was the first time a hairstylist actually LISTENED to what I wanted. I walked in with some bad hair (botched dye job and overgrown style) and walked out gorgeous thanks to the friendly and knowledgable staff. A week later, my locks are still super soft from the quality products they used on my overly damaged, dry hair. I'm sending everyone I know.

I must say there arent a lot of stylists that truly understand my hair care needs...Jillian A. at DNA salon is the best, most personable stylist I've ever been to. Ever since day 1, of seeing her as a stylist she's been very attentive to my hair's personal health. She's completely versatile (coloring, cutting, blowdrying, rods, extensions, whatever!) my hair is natural and we've done many different styles with it. She is able to do ANY hair type and make it look absolutely FABULOUS!!!! Jillian is highly recommended!! Check her out At DNA salon (A great location, esp. customer service). I recently went to DnA Salon and had Great Lengths Hair extensions and I have never been so confident in my LIFE!!! Christie is amazing and she matched my hair color and curl perfectly!! First of all, I love the name DNA Salon--very catchy! I have been to DNA Salon now twice for cut/color and could not be happier. My stylist Christie is not only talented and knowledgeable, but very sweet and down to earth as well (despite being intimatingly beautiful!!)--does not take long to warm up to her and the entire staff. Thanks DNA for opening! Great fun atmosphere (music, decor) too.

I recently got my hair done at DNA salon, and my stylist Jillian gave me the best highlites I have ever had.(And I'm a little picky) She did an amazing job with the placement, and the choice of color. No brassiness ,or red. I LOVE it!!
