This is the best Indian food in San Francisco. Yes, it's in the Tenderloin. If you have trouble parking your Range Rover here / feel uncomfortable around poor people, allow me to suggest a location down the Penninsula. That said, you would be foolish to pass this one up. A friend of mine from Delhi brings her family here every time they visit. She drives into the city from Sunnyvale because the original is that much better. The food is fresh, cheap, and really, really tasty. No, it's not a date spot or a lunch-with-your-Midwestern-grandma spot. It's great Indian food at a great price.

The food here is really good. All the barbecue items are very tender and moist, and the prices are very reasonable. However do not expect much in terms of ambiance. The decor is simple to say the least and somehow the smell of the food permeates everywhere. But this is the best value in these times, the food is really tasty, if you are not comfortable dining in then take out is the best option.

The location is pretty bad - upper tenderloin and no parking. The place is tidy and the staffs are friedly. Food taste great - especially their chicken legs and lambs. Price is reasonable and the atmosphere is not noisy. We went there when there were few people and it took them to make my order in 45 minutes, its outrageous! Thats why am giving them 3 stars.

Good Food in a Dump like setting

Location - In a bad neighborhood with parking being a big hassle especially during the weekends.
Food - They have the best Tandoori Chicken and Seekh Kababs. We started diggin in, as soon as it was brought to our table.Their naans were tender and not very hard as I have found in other similar places. The chicken tikka curry was really spicy. It just made my eyes and nose running. My friends who were with me are used to eating all masala khana, so they did not feel the same.Their biryani was just right - not to dry and the aroma of spices filled every grain of the rice. The food is cooked to order and that is one of my favorite things when it comes to eating out.
Cleanliness - They get 3 stars only for their food because the place just looks like a dump. The cheap cutlery, dirty plates , dirty floorig just makes this place look like the cheap eating places from 3rd world. I must warn you, before you use their bathroom. It was stinky with hairs all over the place. There is no point of complaining it to their staff. I just happen to tell to a waiter and he showed me a nocare attitude.
There is practically no atmosphere in here, but you do get the best tikkas and seekh kababs in town.
