1 Stars: Lousy customer service (by thewho)

I placed an order for a clock as a wedding gift. After 6 weeks the wedding came and went and it never arrived. After 3 months the clock never came. Repeated phone calls were always the same story - I'll get back to you with an answer as to when it will be shipped by Monday. And another Monday came and went until I was able to cancel the order. The price of the clock dropped as I was waiting for it and I was not given the lower price. Meanwhile my credit card was charged the whole amount from the original date. I placed the same order with another company for the cheaper price and received it 6 weeks later. Still have not received my refund. When I sounded frustrated on the phone - the owner APPALLED why I would be upset. When I asked if a refund check was sent 6 weeks after the order was canceled the owner's reply was, "I can look it up but it would take 5 minutes and I'm not going to do it." I have been waiting almost 5 months for something I paid for but he was not willing to spend 5 minutes to correct the problem. LAZY owner with WORTHLESS customer service! Life is hard enough, save yourself the time and energy - buy your clock somewhere else.

5 Stars: 1-800-4CLOCKS is the best place in Manhattan to buy grandfather clocks (by Citysearch User)

AFter spending a lot of time looking at all kinds of grandfather clocks, a friend of mine recommended I contact www.1-800-4clocks.com. Boy was she right. They not only took the time to explain all my options available to me, but they also gave me a fantastic deal. They even sent someone to my home to set up my new Howard Miller Grandfather Clock for free. They have a life-long cuistomer in me, and I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone. I know they have customers literally all over the globe.

5 Stars: They fixed my Tiffany mantel clock (by Citysearch User)

My clock has sat on my desk at my unoveriy, besides me, for over 20 years. I took the clock to sveral repair chops to get price quotes. Not only was 80% less expensive than most of my other options, but I also had a great sense of comfort. Walking into their Store is like walking into another era - grandfather clocks, wall clocks and others -- new and antique!. I will most definitely be back. I just remebered I learned about them from an article in the New York Times.
