I would not recommend this shop to anyone for any service. They were dishonest with me. When I did not play their game and accept their bold face lie, they increased their level of disrespect by making me wait another day for a receipt (they refused to give me one when I came to pick up the car), and tossing my keys in my car for pick up in the parking lot, instead of having me come to the office. They make it clear that they did not care about being dishonest, or about the damage they initially admitted to doing to my car. This shop has changed. I don't know if ownership or management has changed, but before I deployed, it was a good operation. Now, a year later, it has loss it's pride, professionalism and care. I would not recommend this shop for auto repair at anytime now.

On Friday February 12, 2006 We had our car towed to Stirling Auto Repair. We were told that the total cost of all needed repairs would be $2900.00. The next day my son went to the Army relief office and requested a loan of $2900.00. The car was repaired, and on Tuesday February 20, we picked the car up. It was making a squealing sound. We had the mechanic look at the car before we could even leave the parking lot, after they said it was ready. It was the fan belts. The mechanic sprayed fan belt dressing on it, and the noise stopped. The next day, February 21, I noticed smoke coming from under the car. I looked under the car and saw a large volume of oil pouring out. Stirling??s had the car towed back to the shop. It took 3 days before we found out what the problem was. We finally found out on Sat morning, February 24 that the rear main seal had ruptured. Doc, the mechanic had his boss Mr Rob Williams call me. We were told that the repair would cost an additional $300.00. On Wednesday, February 28, the car went back into the shop for repairs. The car was complete on Friday March 2nd. The next day, the power steering fan belt snapped. It was determined that the bolt securing the pully attached to the power steering motor was not tightened causing the belt to come off. My son also smelled something burning and found a wire bundle touching the hot exhaust. It was repositioned away from the exhaust. The next day the muffler became extremely loud. It was determined that the exhaust pipe between the converter and the transmission where the rear main seal was repaired was not secure. The bracket connecting the two areas had one bolt in it and the bracket was gone. We had a friend replace the bracket and bolts. This is totally inexcusable, and unprofessional. This entire situation was bad business. This company will be reported to the Dept of the Army, and they will be blacklisted so that this does not happen to anymore soldiers. We do not believe that most of the work that was done on the car was necessary. What was repaired was so poorly done it needed to be repaired by someone else. A month later the car broke again. Since we were out of money, the car has been sitting under our carport until just yesterday (6/2/08) We had it towed to Mitsubishi. They looked at it and said that Stirling's did not do a thing to repair this car, and it will cost another $3000.00 to repair. Now who in their right mind would pour $6000.00 into a 94 Eclispe? Now We want a portion of what we paid refunded to us, and we want them to produce reciepts for the parts that they said they ordered if they want to dispute this complaint. I would NOT recommend this place to repair a tonka toy.
