"I was originally injured in an automobile accident in the early 1980's. The accident damaged the disks in my lower back causing pain in the back, right buttocks and leg and numbness in the right foot. At the time I was working as a surveyor as well as remodeling two homes, so this aggravated my condition.
By 2003 I was in considerable pain and decided to finally get the disk surgery. I had a the disk bulge trimmed and the disk opening enlarged at the nerve to try to relieve the leg pain. The surgery helped for about six months and then I started to have pain again. During this period I lost my home in the Cedar fire and I was so discouraged with my condition that when I rebuilt I planned extra wide hallways and wheelchair access into my new home, under the assumption that eventually I would be unable to walk.
Over the next two years my condition became progressively worse. I spent long hours in the Jacuzzi, and came to dread bedtime. I would stay up till midnight, then take pain pills and sleep a couple of hours before the pain would wake me. On average I slept about 4 hours a night and was in constant pain.
In late 2005 I was told by my Doctor that I should try cortisone injections in hopes of putting off a second surgery for a few years. I went through 3 weeks of injections and felt good for about a month, then the pain returned. Since my injury I have tried everything I could find to get relief. I've had acupuncture, magnetic therapy, I've been hypnotized and done yoga. I've taken herbs and natural remedies and I have purchased every chair, bed and sleep system available. (I highly recommend the adjustable Thermapedic) I spent over $8000.00 on a spa and have gone through four chiropractors, which gave me minor relief for a day or two. On a good day I was taking 1200 mg of ibuprofen, the rest of the time I was on Vicodin, sleeping pills and other pain killers.
Then I was introduced to Dr Bell. As you can imagine I was highly skeptical, but my only other option was another surgery so I figured I had nothing to lose. I cannot express the difference this treatment has had on my life. After 3 treatments on the DRX I slept for a full 8 hours without waking. I have enjoyed a good night's sleep ever since. I have virtually no pain, except for minor muscle pain from doing exercises I haven't been able to do for 15 years. I am walking a mile per day with my son and I feel wonderful.
I know that Dr. Bell will attribute all my progress to the DRX, however I think a great deal of the credit should go to Dr. Bell and his staff. The care I received at their facility is second to none. They are dedicated to their patients and spend whatever time is necessary to make the treatment a success. I can't stress how important that factor is, I once had an appointment with a leading orthopedic surgeon, who entered the room speaking into a recorder, during the exam he never once addressed me directly, he completed the exam, recorded his results and left the room.
With Dr. Bell I was treated with compassion and care by people who believed in their treatment and did everything in their power make sure I left each appointment not only feeling better than when I arrived, but with a comprehensive plan for future care. They took the time to explain not only the goals for my situation, but told me what to expect and how best to accomplish it. I have given Dr. Bell permission to give out my telephone number or email to anyone who would like to talk to me about having this incredible treatment!
