Reviews for Brooklyn Arts Exchange Young Artists Summer Program

Ratings_icons Great, unusual camp for young performers

My son has attended BAX's summer camp for the past two years; I'll send both he and his younger brother next summer. Kids spend each week working with artists in a different genre (film, puppetry, theater, song, dance, etc) and put on a show at the end of the week. Most weeks there is also a field trip related to the theme. While they're not working on projects, the kids get a chance to play daily at the playground at nearby J J Byrne Park. The counselors and staff are sometimes young and can be a little lax in their oversight; except for that, they're enthusiastic, great with kids and offer a great passion for creative expression. Just a blast, and a nice change from the typical summer day camp.

Ratings_icons Rhythm and movement class is great.

I don't know about the Young Artist Summer Programs, but the nearly 3 Rhythm and movement class is great, my daughter loves her teacher, Dawn, and loves to go. I would support any of the programs, I think they are a great addition to the community.
