As a women, I was a little nervous to try kickboxing and boxing, but once I finally got the courage to go in for a free trail... i loved it! The instructors were really nice and worked with me the whole time. My best friend and I both

You really need to think twice before signing up with this fine establishment. Yes, it's true what many of the reviewers state--the instructors (most) are really nice, the people that train there are friendly, and it's a nice environment

This place is very dirty and now well organized. As a woman from the neighboring area, who wishes to learn MMA from a professional, Wai Kru has quite a reputation in my area. But as I stepped into the building, I realized right away how

I searched for almost 6 months before deciding to try wai kru. After trying 5 other martail arts gyms i was surprised at what i found at wai kru.... Unlike other schools training was unlimited and available even if you attend a class

just moved from DC and I'm a BJJ purple belt and amateur MMA fighter.
I went to Wai Kru to train and roll with new people. I was really impressed with their Jiu Jitsu team. Their coach is Carlos Neto who is a black belt from the Brazil. Neto is a no-gi specialist but he has developed a nasty Gi game as well. I took both their Gi and No Gi classes (back to back) He has fantastic wrestling and his style is perfectly suited for MMA. I learned a lot.
The class was great, tough warm up but really good stuff. The other students are of mixed experience with some blue-purple belts and some white belts--some strict BJJ guys and some MMA fighters. As I was leaving another Blackbelt and pro MMA fighter was coming in to work out as well, to have so many talented guys is fantastic.

Pros: BTT Blackbelt, tons of great pictures on walls, friendly, $$

Cons: none

I am a beginner with no training experience, I have been a fan of the UFC for a while and appreciate the sport of mma.
I did a Muay Thai trial lesson with Kru John Allan and a fighter who works there. Kru (teacher in Muay Thai) is a really interesting guy with tons of wisdom and great technique gained from years of training and studying muay thai, the session was difficult but the work out was the best I have ever had. I left with some grasp of a few basic skills and I was exhausted.

The rates are really competitive with health clubs in Boston. For similar priced gyms you can get tons of flat screen TVs and treadmills but no instruction, help, or motivation. In one class at Wai Kru I was pushed physically by great instructors and shown new skills.

Worth the visit and I was impressed enough to sign up.

Pros: Facility, Safe, Clean, Instructors A++, Fun,

Cons: no showers but I was told they are coming very soon

Great gym. Kru John is a great instructor. I also like the fact that the coaches are active fighters. I like knowing that I am learning from people who know what works. You can show up any time the gym is open and work your stand up (not just during class times). There are tons of classes!

Pros: top level instructors, great hours, lots of classes,

Cons: If you don't want to work hard, this is not your place.

.

Amazing instructors! They keep me going when i want to give up and actually care. They are open so many hours with so many classes I can always find time to train.

I have trained at a lot of places around Boston and Wai Kru was for sure the best. They are open all day and I can just walk in anytime and there are instructors ready to work with you, not just at class times.
I met a lot of new people there as well and its kinda like a big family.

I've been training at Wai Kru for two years now, and it has changed my life for the better. The instructors are smart, technical, enthusiastic, experienced fighters, and they're eager to share what they know. I recommend Wai Kru to anyone who is a good sport, knows how to work hard, and is ready for a challenge.

Pros: brilliant, encouraging instruction

Cons: be ready to do your best and train to the limit

.

People there were just meatheads and dumb jocks. Their a bunch of street fighters and bar brawlers that have seen too many bad martial arts flicks. Instructors are knowledgeable but only want to turn you into a cage fighter to represent their school. No real respect. Way to many anger management issues. Not a lot of class.

I train at wai kru and have been to almost every gym in boston. Wai Kru is the only place that has everything all in one spot. The training is more personal and they have 9 instructors. A great place!
