Located on the Bedford/Burlington line, The Melting Pot brings a truly unique upscale/casual dining experience to Boston's Northwest suburbs. At The Melting Pot, fondue becomes a memorable, interactive four-course dining experience where patrons can "dip into something different". Following a creamy cheese fondue and lively salad, guests choose from four flavorful fondue cooking styles and a variety of entrees including filet mignon, lobster, breast of chicken, duck, shrimp, salmon and more. Dessert features mouthwatering chocolate fondue served with dipping items including fresh strawberries, cheesecake, marshmallows, pound cake and brownies. The Melting Pot Burlington/Bedford also features a full bar (complete with specialty drinks) and an extensive wine list of approximately 180 different wines to suit all of our patrons' tastes.
In the words of the manager, "This restaurant isn't for everyone". If it wasn't for bad service, this restaurant wouldn't have service at all. Just ask for a napkin or a glass of water and you can be sure to get a dirty look. You need a PhD to understand the rules of this restaurant. BYOP. Bring your own plate or be prepared to pay 10 dollars to share. This is not a restaurant for you if you get squeamish about raw meat. Better service at McDonalds. I read other reviews saying there were issues with service and didn't necessarily believe them, but now I do.

So it was my birthday and we booked a table for 2 for 4.30. They told us that we will need to empty the table by 6.30 so "please come by 4.15", which we did. We reached at 4.15 and they told us that our reservation was at 4.30 and that is when they will seat us. So why did they tell us to come early???
We were seated and saw the menu that said "fixed Mother's Day menu". We had no idea, the lady on the phone (whom we spoke to several times) never mentioned once that it was a fixed menu. We told our server this and asked if they can make an exception because we were unaware of this, and she said she will ask the manager. This person comes by (who apparently was the manager) and said she cannot make an exception because she wouldn't know how to ring us, if we only wanted to eat 2 cheese fondues (what we always order here). We requested several times and also said that the reason we came here is to celebrate my birthday and we weren't told about the fixed menu. Same experience as the person who wrote another review -- She didn't even bother to wish me!
She said she will have to take up this issue with the girl (who booked our table but failed to make us aware of the fixed menu) but there is nothing she can do for us. One apology, no wishes, no coupons for next time - NOTHING! Inspite of us saying that we were thoroughly dissapointed and they are potentialy losing a regular customer.
And this isn't the first time we have had this horrid experience at the Burlington location. Once we ordered Chocolate Fondue in which the waiter said that she will charge for extra dippings -- they never used to charge for extra dippings before so who made this rule????? Then we told her about this and said she might be able to throw in few extra pieces of one of the dippings (like she is feeding a stray cat) -- HOW CHEAP!!
OVERALL THE SERVICE HERE IS HORRIBLE AND RUDE AND FOR THE $$$$ THEY CHARGE THIS IS NOT GOOD SERVICE AT ALL.

We have eaten twice now at the newly opened melting Pot on the border of bedford/burlington. We like the European approach to leisurely dining and the concept that the table is yours for the evening. On both occasions the servers have gone above and beyond particularly when requested by my wife if the raw garlic could be poached before being added to the mix. Both times we have gone for the full works and you certainly leave full. The wines are very reasonably priced and a well stocked bar meets you when you first enter. The chocolate fondue with mixed fruits and cheesecake has to be the best way to end a meal ever.We thoroughly recommend it and will be back again soon.

I'm the girl who likes to go to restaurants that aren't chains, or there's only one in / around the big city. However, when my girls and I decided to check out The Melting Pot, I was as surprised as any that a chain restaurant really stood out among its competitors. If you haven't been (I've only been to Bedford location), the decor is top of the line exquisite. I kept my expectations low on the staff, since it was a new location, you never know what you're going to get. Our waiter was not only friendly and knowledgeable, but we never wanted for a drink, because he left us topped off. We never had to ask him for anything during our dinner, because he made sure we had it before leaving the table to let us enjoy what was one of the most fabulous meals I've ever eaten. From the fondue, to the breads, and the lobster to the wine selection, I'm happy to report that not only would I go again, I will recommend it to all of my friends and family, and I'm considering hosting a small work function in its private room. Kudos to the management and staff for getting it right! Thanks Melting Pot.

I'm tough to please about food and restaurants in general, but I can't say enough about The Melting Pot in Bedford. I don't know the area very well, but the restaurant is incredibly easy to get to--right off the highway and minutes from The Burlington Mall. The restaurant itself is beautiful and the booths/seats are comfortable and many are very private--great for a romantic special occasion. They also have lots of large booths, which would be nice for a big family or company party. The food and the service are well above-average, and there are choices for everyone--even vegetarians. When I think of fondue, I think of cheese and chocolate, but this restaurant offers a lot more than that. You can get seafood, chicken, beef, vegetables, even pot stickers or ravioli, and cook them all in your choice of broths or oils. The salads are excellent, and the desserts are to die for! Also impressive is the extensive wine list, which has really good choices for all budgets. The servers are knowledgeable and helpful, and since they do a lot of tableside preparation, you feel really pampered. This is a great way to spend a relaxing evening. Although I live quite a distance from this restaurant, I'll definitely be back!
