Norman??s Electronics has agreed to refund my $69 troubleshooting fee because they could not determine the cause of the incorrect power supply voltage. They were not familiar with the equipment I brought in and did not have any schematics for the circuit board. I think this is a responsible action by this business, and would recommend this shop, but only if you are requesting repair for equipment they represent, because they would have electronic schematics for reference.

It was a switch that turned my t.v. off and he walked me through it. I can assure you, when I need repairs done, I will definitely take my electronics to Norman's. They restored my faith in people. I took my Denon receiver in for warranty repair.They were up front and said it would take 4 weeks for the repair. Not a problem for me. I was able to check on the status of the repair using their website which was updated daily and I even got a call once they determined what the problem was. It did take exactly 4 weeks but I now have my receiver back and it's working great. Thanks!

very good communication and understanding and flexible.
Unfortunately the manufacturer had no replacement parts for my specific TVs, but that wasn't their fault and they were able to determine that without having to come out to my house or me having to bring my TVs to them- just a few pictures emailed to them.
A pleasure to deal with.

Norman's did an excellent job on Denon Receiver. They kept me informed of the parts delay and then called when it was ready. It took a couple of weeks to repair, however, they told me that up front. The price was reasonable and will use them again. I have been taking things to them for years. It is nice to know that quality still exist today. Also, thanks to Natalie who helped me when I picked up the unit. She was very polite and helpfull.

i had to have my 50 inch plasma tv serviced by norman's electronics last month. The entire experience was awesome! The technician was very polite, punctual, and kept me informed of everything he had to do. I would recommend them for all tv needs. I also bought a really nice refurbished tv from their clairmont location. If you need service, call Joe Lucido at Normans.

Very Very disappointed! I have been in Atlanta all my life and heard nothing but good things about Norman's. Well I
take my vintage Pioneer Silver series receiver to be cleaned and brought up to specs and Hmmmm It just blew one of my Bose 151 outdoor speakers because the pots were not even cleaned! Left speaker circuit all trashy and is intermittent whether it works or not! Very sad day! I always had trust built in from other customers well I wouldn't take jet 8 track stereo there let alone a vintage piece that is worth several thousand dollars to them! We shall see how they respond when I take it back on Monday. I am having a large party this weekend and the Pioneer was one of the focal points of the party. They didn't even clean the cabinet. So for 180.00 dollars i got supposed cleaning of all the pots, replace just 1 pilot bulb and "re solder" some suspect solder joints. What a effin joke. I knew when it came out and was dirty as it went in they didn't give a crap! Please post any recommendations for a real electronics repair company in Atlanta. I am all ears.

We contacted our insurance company this am to tell them that it has been 10 days since the part was FINALLY ordered and we haven't heard from Normans. They contacted Normans. Normans said the repairman has the part (it was sent to his house) and would have him call us for an appointment tomorrow. We'll see...Still waiting...

This place will rip you off!! Avoid it like the Plague. My wife took her 8 yr old microwave there to have a fuse replaced. They charged her 69 dollars just to look at the microwave and told her that it needed a 20 AMP fuse that cost 4.88 cents. She told them to go ahead and fix it. When we went to pick up the microwave, the added an addition 79 dollars in labor charges for a total of $155.00 dollars to replace a fuse that took less than 5 seconds to replace. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Take your appliances somewhere else unless you want to get ripped off by Normans Electronics. Their prices are ridiculous!! I will never use Normans electronics for anything again. They charge too much. This place will rip you off. I have notified Clark Howard and I will also be sending a letter to the Atlanta Journal Constitution.

The tech guy, name Berry from Norman's Electronics came out this morning. He came at the time that he told me over the phone. He replaced two LCD back-light inverter boards. So far, so good! No problems since he lift over an hour ago.

He give me his card and told me if I had anymore problems to give him a call. Very professional and a super nice guy! I highly recommend Norman's Electronics!

I recommend Normans Electronics. Read the short version experience below to find out why. And yes- there is a longer detailed version with dates and times. Nothing in this world when dealing with warranties unfortunatly goes fast.

I purchased a SHARP 46 LCD from Circuit City in 2007 for $1299 and the 5yr warranty for another $459. I know extended warranties aren??t a great deal but I wanted protection for 5yrs and calculated the $100 a year to be worth it. Little did any of us know Circuit City would more or less fall of the planet as we knew them.

Well the screen developed a line dead center up through the middle of it. Circuit City now more or less being out of business I presumed I was hosed in both the TV and the warranty coverage. After pinging around the internet I did see the warranty was still in play with Assurant Solutions. That is where my experience with Normans Electronics started.

Norman dispatched a tech promptly who was on-time and professional and immediately diagnosed the problem and recommended a replacement of the LCD panel. He indicated the warranty company would have to approve the recommendation and would likely total the unit in lieu of repair. Which is what they ultimately did- but that is another story.

I followed up with Norman after a few days and there was no word on the approval with Assurant for them to proceed with repair. The Customer Service Representatives were very supportive and provided contact information to Assurant that I could talk directly with which as any consumer should do who wants to help draw attention to their claim. My experience with Assurant was not great. Extremely long hold times, run around about processes that take 45 days, the typical delay as long as possible routines. Assurant then topped it off with a low ball offer. I had to contact a Sr Communications Manager at Assurant and suggest the local news hawks- Bill Liss and Clark Howard might like to help me out if he couldn??t. That is when more realistic remedies were afforded me.

Through out the experience Normans representatives were helpful and provided me guidance and support and were always honest about the whole situation. I appreciated there willingness to work with me as Circuit City was no longer a source of support for escalating and resolving the claim. They were essential advocates to me to get me something for which I was owed and for that alone I would highly recommend them as a potential service provider to others in need of assistance.

Normans can only do what the warranty underwriters approve and I recognized that from the onset. What they did best for me is help get me through the process and provide details in that process that ultimately got me a satisfactory resolution. Normans costumer service representatives are great. Only downside is they don??t have enough of them, but I recognize that as indicative of the current times all companies face in this economy.

I offer these Thanks to Normans Electronics for a job well done and would openly call them again for service and advice in the future. I also encourage everyone to be their own best advocate when the dollars involved to you, are of significance enough to fight for.

On a side note- Some of the negative remarks that I have read below may have more to do with the warranty companies and their slow approval processes then Norman's performance to try to help the customer.

I can't quite understand some of the negative reviews here. I was directed to Norman's by Marantz, whom I had called regarding a problem with my under-warranty CD player (Norman's being the closest warranty repair facility to my home in South Carolina). I called Norman's and spoke without delay to a very polite customer service person who gave me full instructions on shipping the player, what paperwork to enclose, etc.

On the following day, Friday the 31st of July, I shipped the unit from my local UPS store and was advised that it would arrive at Norman's on Tuesday the 4th of August. Delivery was confirmed on that day. On Monday, August 10th, the repaired unit arrived via UPS at my home. Norman's had turned it around in less than three days! I would call that excellent service by any standard.

Needless to say, I'm an extremely satisfied customer and I would not hesitate to use Norman's for my next electronics repair, warranty or otherwise.

Tech was very friendly. I find it strange that Normans has been in business over 50 years, and there were less than a dozen bad reviews. I believe this Co. must be doing something right. I am satisfied fully. Do not hesitate to use these folks. I will in the future.

The phone reps are rude and will put you on hold before you can finish a sentence. My average wait time is 18 minutes. They don't return calls and have had my television for almost six weeks. They "think" they can now fix it for $500, but can't promise anything.
I've asked them to return the television and have taken a vacation day to be home... they forgot to call and or load the television on the delivery truck. The phone rep got vey angry when I asked them to return the television... I've wasted six weeks dealing with these people. It's almost like they try to do the exact opposite customer service and have never been treated so badly by a business and am still waiting for my television to be returned.
I really think they don't care.

Took Sony surround receiver by their Clairmont location. I agreed to repair if it did not exceed 125.00. Was told to expect up to 10 days before it could be checked out. This was on the 13th. My tv broke one year after purchasing.. Normans was quick to come check my tv out but 4 visits later my tv has not been fixed. 1st the guy came out to see what was wrong, 2nd fixed problem but repair man broke color wheel 3rd was sent wrong part, 4th still wrong part. so now i am waiting on the 5th visit. i will be calling normans first thing monday morning. i will not be buying another tv from hh gregg if they are going to use normans as their warranty company.

After a storm related power surge damaged my ADCOM amp I took it to Norman's for repairs. They repaired the amp quickly(although is was expensive) and I hooked back into my system. I soon found I was getting a repeating beeping sound. I was upset about the beeping, but couldn't be sure of the cause, so I took the amp, pre-amp and DVR to norman's to have them check it out. They extensively checked out the system and found the pre-amp was the culprit. IMO Norman's did a great job of standing behind their repairs and helping me get my system back in working order.

I was concerned when Sharp referred us to Norman's to have a warranty repair done based on the reviews that I read, but I was pleasantly surprised at the service we received! They scheduled the appt. to come out to repair our TV within a week of the initial call. They also had pre-ordered the part they thought we would need based on our call to Sharp and the technician brought the part with him to the initial repair visit (I expected them to come out this visit, figure out what was wrong and then have to schedule a follow up to do the actual repair, but NO). He installed the new part and had our TV repaired and working within an hour.

Made an appointment 1 week ago. They gave a window and didn't show. They wanted to come the next day. We canceled and are going with someone else. Save yourself a wasted day and do the same.

find a different company they will waste your time and money! customer service is awful, and you will have to Wait all day they have a 3hr window to call you in the am to let you know that they will be there between another 3 hr window, instead of scheduling an appointment. service person made my tv worse. i don't recommend them

They certainly do work for the Warranty Company. Paid $300 for an extended TV warranty, and was within 2 years of termination, when I had a repair problem. I am 65 years old, no children in the home and was told by the Norman tech that came to the house that it was caused by my abuse! NOT COVERED BY WARRANTY

The tech called me the night before and told me the time he was coming which worked into my schedule as well. He arrived at the time we scheduled. Called the dealer who sold us a TV set to report a failure. They contacted Norman's Electronics. Norman's contacted us and arranged a service technician's appointment. The service technician, Gene, called us to tell us when he'd be at our house. We found the Norman'a technician, Gene, to be prompt, personable, polite, knowledgeable, efficient and above all professional. We explained our problem, Gene diagnosed the cause of the problem, repaired the TV set and was on his way - all of this in about thirty minutes. Great Job! We will certainly use their service in the future and will recoommend Norman's to others.

My Fisher turntable no longer turned, so I took it Norman's on Clairmont. They told me 14 to 21 days. I put down the $75 deposit. 15 days later, I got the call saying it was ready. I went & picked it up, paying the remainder of the reasonable fee.

Back home, turntable's in place, plugged in and turning at the proper speed(s) (This one can play 78s!) I can listen to my Zevon vinyl again!

I wonder why some people have such poor experiences and some of us have such good ones with Norman's.
