If I could give Animal control in Sierra Vista, Arizona more then 5 Stars I would! Everything the previous reviewer said is true & more.

For 32 years my husband & I have always adopted dogs that were either free from some family that got a surprise litter, as a rescue or from the city Animal Control Facility of whatever town we lived in @ the time. We have always found exceptional animals.

Our last Old Dog died in 2011 & 1 year later we began going to the Nancy Brea Facility, to find the right dog for the BOTH of us. July of 2013 we adopted a 7 1/2 year old Australian Shepard who has turned out to be an amazingly Sweet & intelligent dog, surpassing our previous dogs in those areas.

A few Years ago the city received 1 million + dollars as a gift from the Will of a retired Army Officer who had been Stationed @ Ft. Huachuca during the 1970's & was Designated to be used for The Animal Control Facility. As the city Needed an new facilty a new one was built & named in her honor. It is a great place staffed by people that Really Care about the animals that come in. They give them as much exercise as possible and work on Leash skills and encourage volunteers to help with walking and socialization. It is NOT a "No Kill" Shelter but they keep the animals as long as is humanly possible & to the best of my knowledge have held onto animals longer then 1 year.
The location is @ the opposite end of town from the old Facility.
The Address is: 6799 E. Highway 90 (directions: Head Outside of SV, going East as tho' you were traveling to Bisbee. Go several miles. Watch for streets on the Left (north) side of the Hwy. Once you pass the street 'N. 10 Pond Place (which leads to the water treatment facility) look for the next street which is North KINO Rd. You will see a Water tank with a kewl animal mural. Turn towad the water tank & take the 1st right which takes you right to the Nancy Brea Facility.

I hope that you are as happy with them & as luck in your search as we have been.

This animal control is awesome... they not only care about the animals they find... they are so helpful in information that might be needed first hand... they also offer help with food when supply is available...
