Myself as well as several Friends of mine have taken many classes at Bead Delite. We have always enjoyed the time we spend there. We usually make an afternoon of it. Their classes range from $5 to about $20. There ARE other classes that are more expensive, but they are all priced accordingly depending on the project. They are very attentive and even in the 5x5 class (5 minutes for $5) they spend as much time as needed. They make you feel so welcome, have never met a stranger. They let you shop in peace and are right there to answer questions. We trust their techniques above all others. They not only teach, but explain WHY you should use the techniques they show you, with examples of what happens when you don't. Many times, I have shown up, asked a question and received a demo on the spot at no charge. Not to mention the quality and variety of beads they offer. They have beads that I have never seen before and I have been beading, and shopping for beads for a very long time. I have shopped at every bead store in and around the area and have found the experience and service at Bead Delite unmatched. You will miss out on an awesome trip if you don't go to Bead Delite yourself!

I first found Bead Delite on the day before they were to officially open for business and have been a regular ever since. I fell for the store and the wonderful people that treat anyone that enters as family. They have beautiful beads and offer great classes. I have taken many of the classes-wire working. 5X5 and lampworking(beginner and advanced). All the classes I have taken have been great. The instructors are knowledgeable, helpful and make the classes fun.
I recently took the Advanced Lampworking class that was the topic of KimL's review. I would like to respond to the review because I feel that a few facts should be addressed. KimL states that she had previously taken approximately 20 hours of classes, yet she did not know how to make a basic bead. It does not matter what type of gas setup you use (mapp gas, used in the class, does just fine for making beads) the basics of bead making are the same. Flame annealing works well for the size beads that were made at the class. The instructor did try to help KimL with the problems she was having. This class was advertised as an advanced class. The expectation was that students attending would have a working knowledge of basic lampworking. KimL did not appear to be ready for an advanced class.
Making your own beads and working the glass is fun and addictive.
The lampworking classes offered at Bead Delite are excellent and I would recommend them to all.
Customer Service at Bead Delite is never in question. They want you to have the best beading experience possible and do everything they can to make sure this happens.

I attended a class recently which was taught by Curtis Cecil. I arrived to find a situation I was unfamiliar with, including: a fuel system that was sub par and I toldthem I was compleely unfamiliar with and worse no annealing stuation for the beads? I have had numerous classes( 4or more totaling @ 20 hours) and all the work stations were much more professional and always provided annealing for the beads we were to make! At approx 40 minutes into the class the manager (Carolyn) came to look at my beads and said loudly that they were all breaking ... At that time the teacher did not come to help me with the situation!? I complained finally and with 15 minutes left in the class he came to assist me and told me to put my bead more into the flame, at no time previously did this get mentioned? I went thru nearly 4 hours of class with no help with the process or actual instruction, I find this extemely unprofessional and very much unlike the 20 hours of previous classes I had taken at numerous other facilities! I would never have called this anything other than a DEMO since no actual instruction wasgiven soI brought the situation up to the manager (Carolyn) and was told they were not going to work for an amicable resolution and they refused to refund even a portion of the $250 fee they charged me !? I asked numerous beadmakers on the website LAMPWORK ETC about the situation and they ALL said that they would of complained also and would have expected a refund and an apology - I have received neither ! Bad Bad customer service

This is a wonderful shop. They showcase a lot of local artists, with their beads as well as finished jewelry. The only one in the area that really promotes the local artisan community. They have a lot of beads including Swarovski, gemstones, glass and many many more quality beads and accessories. They are setup to assist you with lots of work tables and all of the staff provides wonderful guidance on color combinations, class selections and jewelry assembly. Their classes are absolutely awesome. Very friendly and knowledgeable instructors. I would highly recommend them!

Bead Delite is a fantastic bead store. The selection is outstanding and the prices are very reasonable. The service is incredibly personal and friendly as well. I really enjoy that this store has so much variety and tons of beads you can buy individually rather than having to purchase a strand (though they have those as well). It is very well organized too. You should check it out, I'm sure you'll become a Bead Delite fan too.

This store definitely has it all. I've shopped the other stores in Raleigh and been disappointed with the atmosphere, selection, service or all three on some occasions. After taking a class at another bead store, I stopped by Bead Delite to get some advice on a technique I wanted to try. Not only did they give me great advice, they talked to me about proper techniques, offered some immediate help, told me to bring the project by and attempt it with their guidance.I signed up for basically the same class I took at the other store and have to say that the class at Bead Delite was half the price and I learned twice as much. The quality of my designs is far better now and I have complete confidence now when I'm selling them.I've now taken several classes at this store and each time the instructors have been first rate. From basic jewelry assembly and design to wire working and even lampworking, there's no end to the number of classes they're willing to host. They've even got a series called the 5x5 and you can learn a simple technique or try something new on your lunch hour or even on your way home. If there's something you want to learn or have considered trying, give them a call and they'll create the class for you! I've definitely found the store I love and people who will help me grow my talents and expertise far beyond what I'd originally thought. There isn't another store in town that's made me feel at home the minute I walk in the door.

Love this store. Great selection of beads at fair prices. Go to design your own jewelry, or go to buy pieces made by local NC folks. Lots of colors and unique beads to create with. They have several classes if you want to learn how to make your own jewelry too!
