MY HUSBAND OWNS A 2003 FORD F250 PICK UP FOR WORK, IT WOULD NOT START, IT WAS MAKING THIS SCARY SCREECHY NOISE. FORD DEALER RECOMMENDED A STARTER AND A CLUTCH JOB REPAIR. WE PAID $2300.00 FOR THE JOB, TOOK THEM ALMOST TWO FULL WEEKS TO DO THE JOB. MY HUSBAND WAS NOT HAPPY WITH THE JOB, THE TRUCK WAS VIBRATING ALL THE TIME, AND IT WAS NOT DOING THAT, WE TOOK IT BACK TO FORD, THEY LOOKED AT IT AND TOLD US IT WAS NORMAL AND NOTHING THEY CAN DO ABOUT IT, THEY TRIED TO CONVINCE US THAT ALL F150s DO THAT, BUT HEY BUDDY WE HAD THE TRUCK FOR MORE THAN 3 YEARS, AND IT NEVER DID THAT TILL YOU DAMAGED IT. THEY BASICALLY KICKED US OUT CLAIMING WE WERE STUPID. MY HUSBAND STARTED LOOKING FOR A MECHANIC TO FIX THE PROBLEM, HE WAS WILLING TO PAY ANOTHER $2500 TO GET IT FIXED RIGHT. SO WE GOT TO MEET MR. DAN AT BURIEN COMMUNITY AUTOMOTIVE SERVICE WHERE HE OFFERED US DIAGNOSIS TO FIND THE PROBLEM CAUSING THE TRUCK TO SHAKE VIBRATE LIKE THAT. WE EXPLAINED WHAT HAPPENED AT THE FORD DEALER, SO HE ASKED US TO BRING ALL THE PAPER SO HE CAN GO THROUGH IT, HE TOLD US THEY MIGHT HAVE USED SOME DEFECTED PARTS, WHERE IT HAPPENS ALL OVER THE COUNTRY. DAN TOLD US FEW HRS LATER, THAT FORD DID NOT DO THE JOB PROPERLY, HE TOLD US THAT THE PRESSURE PLATE WAS CHANGED BUT THROW BEARING WAS NOT. HE ALSO TOLD US THAT THING DO NOT SEEM TO BE LINED UP PROPERLY WHICH CAUSES VIBRATION. HE WROTE US A LETTER EXPLAINING TO FORD WHERE THE PROBLEM IS, HE TOLD US TO GO TO FORD TO GET THE JOB FIXED PROPERLY UNDER THE WARRANTY. FORD REFUSED TO DO ANYTHING. WE CALLED DAN ABOUT IT, DAN TOLD US TO BRING OUR OLD PARTS HIS SHOP, HE WANTED TO INSPECT THEM, WELL FIRST OF ALL FORD REFUSED TO GIVE US OUR OLD PARTS BACK, AND ONLY GAVE US THE FLY WHEEL. WHEN DAN LOOKED AT THE FLY WHEEL HE WAS SURPRISED AND WONDERED WHY WAS IT REPLACED, IT LOOKED BRAND NEW. DAN TOLD US THAT THE STARTER MUST OF BEEN THE ONLY PROBLEM, AND THAT WAS THE CAUSE BEHIND THAT SCREECHY NOISE. DAN WROTE US ANOTHER LETTER TELLING FORD TO TAKE THEIR TIME AND INSPECT IT PROPERLY. THE LETTER SAID TO INSPECT THE PART LISTED BELOW TO MAKE IT EASIER ON THE MECHANICS AT FORD. FORD STILL REFUSED TO ADMIT THAT THERE WAS ANY KIND OF PROBLEM WITH OUR TRUCK.
SO FORD MANAGER TOLD US TO HAVE OUR MECHANIC TAKE IT APART AND IF HE FINDS THE PROBLEM THEN THEY WILL PAY FOR IT. DAN ENDED UP TAKING IT APART AND WROTE US A BIG LIST OF PROBLEMS CAUSED BY FORD CAUSING EVEN MORE DAMAGE TO OUR TRUCK. HERE IS THE LIST AS DAN WROTE IT.
1. CLUTCH DISK WAS NOT REPLACED.
2. CLUTCH DISK IS BURNED OUT.
3. THROW BEARING WAS NOT REPLACED.
4. PILOT BEARING WAS NOT REPLACED.
5. SCARED AND HOT SPOTS ON NEW FLY WHEEL.
6. MISSING DOWELS ON FLY WHEEL.
7. NOW DAMAGED INPUT SHAFT BEARING FOR MISSING DOWELS.
I AM REALLY GETTING TIRED OF THIS WITH FORD, DAN AT BURIEN COMMUNITY AUTOMOTIVE SERVICE CALLED FORD, ASKED FOR THE FORD MANAGER, SHOP FOREMAN, AND THE MECHANIC WHO DID THE WORK ON THE TRUCK TO COME DOWN TO MEET US AT COMMUNITY AUTOMOTIVE SERVICE. THE FORD GUYS CLAIMED THAT THESE WERE NOT ENOUGH REASONS TO CAUSE THE SHAKING. DAN TOLD THEM THAT'S FINE AND THAT HE IS GOING TO CALL FORD TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE AND PAY FOR THE FLIGHT TICKET TO SHOW THEM THIS PROBLEM AND THEY WILL JUDGE. AND THAT WAS IT, THEY FINALLY DECIDED TO ADMIT IT, AND PAY FOR ALL REPAIRS.
