My Chevy Malibu had a problem with engine misfires that another shop couldn't fix. Long story. I took the car to Community Automotive, and Dan spent a lot of time with it, doing research, trying simple things and told me he refused to waste my money. He tried a couple things, small fixes, and ultimately after a lot of time, and a lot of patience on his behalf, the problem was found, and the engine misfire problem was solved, and most importantly, the repairs were affordable. I'm a big fan of this shop and of the honest work they do. Thank you Dan!

Community by far the best auto service facility. I brought my car to them after having a bad experience with another shop down the street, $2700.00 continuing to have the same problem. Community offered to help me figure out the problem and kept my car for few days to double check on the other shop's work, which ended up being a bad wire connection. My car runs great now thanks to Dan at Community, yet I am extremely angry with the other shop since I had trusted them for many years, going to get my money back from them due to their misdiagnoses, dishonesty, NOR PERFORMING THE SERVICES THEY SOLD ME WHICH I DID NOT NEED.

This man saved me well over $2400 in repairs by offering me a general motors stop leak tablet. Others did not even consider giving me any options to help me save money since I can't afford it. And he did that for me free of charge. Did not charge me for his time, his coolant or the tablet. and it worked, no more leaks what so ever.

I did post for COMMUNITY AUTO AND I WILL DO IT AGAIN AND AGAIN. I've been meaning to do this for the longest time. Community Auto is THE BEST. In my 20 plus years of owning cars, never seen more competent and honest mechanics than the folks there. I've never had mechanics be more thorough in explaining things and actually SHOWING me the problems. Take me into the shop, under the car and SHOWING me EVERYTHING, As a woman, mechanics can treat you like you are a worthless being, or just take there word for anything they tell ya, They are the best when it comes to German and European autos. I have a Volvo V70, that have been giving me problems all the time, but since I started dealing with Community Automotive, MY CAR NEVER GAVE ME ANY TROUBLE. My friend also has a Volvo V70 XC and we took it straight to Community Auto. We spent an hour WITH him looking under the hood, under the car, found some problems, explained the ones that could wait, and the ones that could not. Totally awesome experience. They are big on SAVING YOU MONEY. They are very affordable and can save you thousands of dollars over the life of your car, especially an import that can be costly to repair and They do it WELL, That being said they are still so AFFORDABLE even with something major, I don't know how they do it. The turn around time for repairs is also amazing, and quick. ALL MY FAMILY NOW GOES TO COMMUNITY AUTOMOTIVE, AND ALL MY FRIENDS. WE FEEL LIKE WE ARE DEALING WITH A FAMILY MEMBER THERE. SHARE STORIES, IDEAS AND THOUGHTS.

I am quite positive that Community automotive service & repairs does not need my appreciation on line by posting a review for them, but since they did a perfect job on my truck, this would be the least thing and should put a word out there to recommend others in my situation to have this automotive excellent shop do whats needed to get everyone's car safe and reliable on the road.

Dan is the Man! My poor toyota Avalon alternator belt was shredded, Community Automotive Service was highly recommended by Moe from All Day Towing, so I figured why not try them. I was met with professionalism, integrety and excellently skilled Mechanics! Dan patiently explained what was wrong with my car and what diagnostics he would run on my car. He was very knowledgeable and did not talk down to me even though I am a girl who doesn't know a lot about the inner workings of my car. I was willing to spend some money on my car as I wanted to feel safe and I felt I had neglected my car as I had let it sit for a while while I had been working away from home. Dan would not take my money. I said "well maybe it could use an oil change and filter change, and maybe the tires could be replaced as well, since I am getting this work done" Dan said it was unecessary and explained why. This was totally unexpected, I thought I would end up putting in a lot of money to get my car fixed.. and instead left with a car working fabulously, good adivce, more knowledge about my car and spent way less than what I had expected. I will definitly bring my car back for any future repairs and recommend to friends.

Wanted to update some info about my favorite people, and best automotive mechanic business out there in Burien. Been a customer there for almost 7 years now. Been great to me, my family and my friends. I am the one with the EGR problem, Im sure you will remember me when you read this. Had my old mechanic sell me a whole new car, almost, cause my car was not running properly. Til I met you guy, you were able to pin point it to my EGR. Short blond hair. Anyhow. Also wanted to share that the proper world wide web address is with Dot NET. Not with Dot COM.

Sure the best repair shop in Burien. Oh! by the way I need to stop by, pick up some of your business cards, I have some co-workers who need their cars to run right, and its only you who i think of.

My Blazer had a rattle in the right front wheel, he not only inspected it, he took a picture to show me; he fixed it, the car drove a lot more solid, but the rattle was still there, not so much, but there. I took it back and Dan found it, fixed it and didn't charge me anything extra. He's done that, not charged me - for little things, like installing rear hatch thingy's that make the window rise and fall, replacing a hose and clamp and finding a little drip from nowhere obvious, and fixing it.

Community Automotive is the most honest, reliable, fast and competent repair shop I've ever experienced. Dan is truly interested, engaged and ready to do all he can for my two cars. He explains everything, he tells me what needs to be done now and what can wait. I would recommend him to everyone.

Been dealing with many automotive shops around town. This shop would most likely be my first pick in referring my customers to. They sure are on the level, down to earth, don't mind sharing what they know in helping others. Had diagnosed multiple of electronic issues I had trouble with, and never let me down.

It all started six months ago with Aamco transmission. Our 06 BMW X5 4.8L AWD transmission started acting strange, downshifing on its own. Our extended warranty suggested that we go to Aamco transmission instead of the dealer. We didn't pay much attention to it, but found out later on
that the insurance company was only trying to save money, since, the dealer would charge an aram and a leg. Aamco transmission diagnosed the problem to
be the transmission. They decided to rebuild it where the insurance covered most of the repair. Took them 3 weeks to finally call us to increase our bill, they were running our credit card without our permission charging us $2200.00. Had dropped it off back at Aamco the next day, running alot
worse than when we first brought it in, with major scary clunks felt in the whole body of the car. We struggled with Aamco transmssion for six months, they wasted so much of our time and money. We threatened to get a lawer. FINALLY, they refered us to COMMUNITY AUTOMOTIVE SERVICE. Aamco was speaking highly of Dan at COMMUNITY AUTOMOTIVE and how he would be the one to figure the problem since
he always diagnosed their problems acurately. I dropped the X5 at COMMUNITY AUTO. It seemed too small of a shop to be able to handle such a complex problem, where Aamco transmission failed. Dan at COMMUNITY AUTOMOTIVE is most likely the most genuine automotive man I have ever encountered. Bright and honest. This problem took Dan a couple of days to pin point and double check on the transmission when it was taken apart at Aamco. Dan called me with the results of how the problem at the begining was only the clutser speedometer, which caused the transmssion to downshift on its own, now the EGS module is damaged after transmsision tear-down at Aamco. Dan had provided us with complete results from videos, scope graphs, and technical information that he explained to us as well as to Aamco transmission. Thankfully, Dan requeseted that Aamco replaces the cluster, and EGS moduel and our misery was finally over. Runs great. THANK YOU COMMUNITY AUTOMOTIVE. We now know where to take our cars to.

Mami is HAPPY now. She is my car, shes my baby. I have no trust for mechanics in touching her...cause I know they all want to take advantage of me and her, they have always taken advantage of me, and she was never ever happy. However this shop is not like other shops, so this does not apply to Community automotive. From the first phone call to the moment they handed my keys back to me, ALL POSITIVE. My Mami was never as happy as the time it visited community automotive. They sure know how make love to cars. So due to my experience I announce Community automotive the best auto shop there is and the only award winner. Thank you.

I've finally found a great mechanic! Dan at Community Automotive in Burien. He's on the level. He explains everything in detail and doesn't pretend your car needs work it doesn't need. He's also very fast and gets your car finished and ready to roll within a day. I feel relieved!

I have a Ford Explorer 2004 with a bad alternator. I ended up finding this site and read the reviews. It was more than enough for me to go down and see for myself, so I did the next day.

It was a bad day for me because I ended up ripping my leg open turning off the alarm in the morning. Bad enough to require 13 stitches, so I was limping around with a cane and car with a bad alternator.

I called Community Auto Service and talked to Dan on several phone calls. He gave me an up front estimate, found me a cheaper deal for an alternator with a Lifetime Warranty, and got my car fixed in less than several hours.

He even let me leave it there in his lot for a later pickup that night when I would be able to drive it home.

I used to fix my own cars for things like this, so I know an honest mechanic when I go to one and this guy is as good as they come. Not only is Dan knowledgeable but he goes out of his way to get your car fixed and then goes beyond expectation.

He gave me a pretty fair deal that was the best deal around and he gave me some positive advice on my sticky transmission, which was something nobody else had been able to do until that day.

From now on, this guy is my mechanic and I'm going to recommend my friends and family to his business.

We needed our starter replaced and after reading reviews we took it to Community Automotive Service. Dad did a wonderful job. He also explained a couple serious problems that need taken care of and he handled those also. He also gave us a quote on a couple smaller things that needed to be taken care of within the next few months. It's nice to know what needs taken care of and to have a quote so your not blindsided. Also, he only takes in the cars he will work on that day. If you have ever taken your car someplace and it takes days to get it back, this is a blessing. Great Job Dan

We had a transmission put into our 2000 Ford Expedition by Dan at Community Automotive. It runs like a champ now. I recommend him to everyone now. Dan explains everything he does to your car and also gives you helpful hints to maintain your car. He is a hidden jewel for this community.

I brought my 95 Grand Cherokee there due to a complex electrical issue regarding the onboard computer / ecm(s) and not being able to start or when it did, would shut down when gas was given.

Dan had repaired in less than a hour. If I would of followed all of the steps on Jeep forums regarding this issue - would of spent thousands with a dealer or DIY and probably would of taken weeks if ever - to solve the problem. And all it costed was the diagnosis cost.

Additionally I dropped off my F-350 to pick up the Jeep, he diagnosed and had the problem fixed within a few hours of picking up the Jeep. Quick, efficient, and friendly. One of the few mechanics that I have run into that finds the simplest solution to a problem and his explanations of why is always how he would like to be treated if he was the customer.

A hidden gem in Burien and glad I stumbled on these reviews as they are all spot on.

I??ve been going to Community Automotive Service in Burien for about a year now having Dan maintain my car. Recently whenever I had my air-conditioning on and I put my car in reverse or drive my car would squeal, so I stopped by to have Dan take a look. Dan tightened my drive belts and also adjusted my idle. In less than 10 minutes no more squealing! The best part?he didn??t charge me anything for the service he gave. I was very surprised and thankful. I continue to be delighted by the exceptional customer service I receive at Community Automotive Service. I would highly recommend Dan for any car maintenance needs you have.

If you??re looking for an honest and friendly mechanic who WON??T nickel and dime you, you should see Dan at Community Automotive Service in Burien. I needed to have my timing belt and water pump replaced and called around to a number of shops for quotes and Dan gave me the best price more than $200 cheaper than the other places! I was able to bring my car in right away and the work was done in a decent amount of time. Not only was the price and speediness wonderful but Dan took the time to explain to me what needed to be done & why and answered the questions I had. After that experience I have gone back for my oil change and will continue to see him for any future work my car needs. I trust him and his work 100%.

I already wrote another review for this place on google.com. But I was so happy with the service I wanted to throw 'em another five stars somewhere.

Briefly, the prices are very low end of the scale. They do the work fast, and they do all the extra little stuff you need for free out of pride for workmanship.

Seriously, I dare you to find me one bad review about these guys.

It's where you should take your car to be fixed.

Ask for Dave. He took good care of me.

I had to get off my lazy a*s, put a comment in for community automotive service. Been my first if not only call in case i ran into any problems. I am a car dealer in Burien, been having community automotive service take care of all my unique cars. Last one, was a Honda Accord, had been misfiring, could not sell it, and of course community had it running perfect again.

I had my van inspected by many whats called auto repair shops. They all gave different answers for whats called a check engine light. my engine was running rough, not much on the freeway, but when i came to stop light, it would turn off on me due to its roughness at a stop. My husband knew about community automotive service for its quality work and computerized skills and the ability to diagnose difficult issues in computer related problems. Had dropped off the van at community automotive service, and it was a completely different answer in compare to the other whats called automotive repair shops. FINALLY we got a proper answer, from a proper well skilled automotive shop. This problem is called IMRC vacuum valve. It coast us $398.00 and the van runs great. I recommend all to go to community automotive service, where you get your van or car running properly from the first time for God's sake. My husband and I been recommending our group at church to see community automotive service, and they are all happy with his work, and honesty.

This welcoming cozy shop got me back to believe in good auto repair shops. I never liked going to auto repair places. Either, over charged or more problems with my car. But with these guys I felt relaxed, very welcoming, honest, and direct to the point. Dan over at community took his time in explaining auto electronics, he also had three or more customers walk in as he was explaining electronics to me, and they were all together as a family, not just customers. He had people drop their cars off, telling him to inspect for what??s needed, repair what ever it needs. As for my problem with my Volkswagen, Its acceleration was so bad, check engine light was on. I already spent over $1200 on trying to fix it at other places. Dan assured me proper repairs, or he won??t charge me. As he was explaining auto electronics affecting my performance I knew he is the one. $179.00 later I was riding a strong car once again. Good Job Dan. Thank You.

I have never been to a shop that refused to do what I requested for my SUV. I was shocked by Community Automotive repair facility. told me I was throwing my money down the drain replacing the ME module (Computer). My cruise control on my 05 G500 was acting up.

I always intend to search all German mechanic's reviews on line. many days of research, found that this problem was associated with the ME module, that needed to be replaced. As I was talking to Dan, the alarm kept on activating on its own, I kept on turning it off. Dan asked me if I wanted to repair the alarm issue or the cruise control. I was offered to Diagnose both problems for the price of one.

The Cruise control problem was due to a software ERROR. Needed to be re coded or updated to a newer software. As for the Alarm going off on its own was due to a shorted micro-switch truck latch. Both problems repaired. I never thought I would find such highly trained individuals in a small repair facility.

I was given the chance to learn how to program modules on my SUV, Both guys at Community worked for MB most of their years. They are fully Equipped for all European Vehicles, tools, software's and weird looking special laptops, Domestic, As well as Imports.

Highly Recommended for everyone, regardless what you drive, they should be your alternative instead of the dealers.

I took my car to a friend that has a shop he "fixed" the car and two days later the car was still not right. I called got Dan on the phone and was so impressed with his customer service over the phone! when i got there he look at the car and told me what the other repair shop had done and not done right. he filled my oil up for free and gave me great info!

All my friends and family will ALWAYS go to DAN!

thank you Dan and Community Auto you ROCK!

Its all about honesty, and knowledge. I think Burien community auto repair is the best in the city, if not the best in the state. I went to them for my Inoperative parking lights, And it was a missing fuse. not a blown fuse. Got me going at no cost. Thats what I call honesty.

They went above and beyond what I had expected. Before going to Burien Community Automotive, I had been "taken to the cleaners" from another car shop in Fairwood. The Fairwood shop wanted to charge me $900 for a new timing belt, plus I paid $945 for a basic tune up! Burien Community Automotive helped walk me through the charges from Fairwood, which were fraudulent. On top of that he gave me the same Timing belt service for $600 LESS! He proved his competence in car knowledge, helped educate me, did excellent work on my car, and made feel at home in his shop. I trust him and am recommending him to everyone I know! I've finally found a mechanic I can trust and will be going to him as long as I live in Washington!

MY HUSBAND OWNS A 2003 FORD F250 PICK UP FOR WORK, IT WOULD NOT START, IT WAS MAKING THIS SCARY SCREECHY NOISE. FORD DEALER RECOMMENDED A STARTER AND A CLUTCH JOB REPAIR. WE PAID $2300.00 FOR THE JOB, TOOK THEM ALMOST TWO FULL WEEKS TO DO THE JOB. MY HUSBAND WAS NOT HAPPY WITH THE JOB, THE TRUCK WAS VIBRATING ALL THE TIME, AND IT WAS NOT DOING THAT, WE TOOK IT BACK TO FORD, THEY LOOKED AT IT AND TOLD US IT WAS NORMAL AND NOTHING THEY CAN DO ABOUT IT, THEY TRIED TO CONVINCE US THAT ALL F150s DO THAT, BUT HEY BUDDY WE HAD THE TRUCK FOR MORE THAN 3 YEARS, AND IT NEVER DID THAT TILL YOU DAMAGED IT. THEY BASICALLY KICKED US OUT CLAIMING WE WERE STUPID. MY HUSBAND STARTED LOOKING FOR A MECHANIC TO FIX THE PROBLEM, HE WAS WILLING TO PAY ANOTHER $2500 TO GET IT FIXED RIGHT. SO WE GOT TO MEET MR. DAN AT BURIEN COMMUNITY AUTOMOTIVE SERVICE WHERE HE OFFERED US DIAGNOSIS TO FIND THE PROBLEM CAUSING THE TRUCK TO SHAKE VIBRATE LIKE THAT. WE EXPLAINED WHAT HAPPENED AT THE FORD DEALER, SO HE ASKED US TO BRING ALL THE PAPER SO HE CAN GO THROUGH IT, HE TOLD US THEY MIGHT HAVE USED SOME DEFECTED PARTS, WHERE IT HAPPENS ALL OVER THE COUNTRY. DAN TOLD US FEW HRS LATER, THAT FORD DID NOT DO THE JOB PROPERLY, HE TOLD US THAT THE PRESSURE PLATE WAS CHANGED BUT THROW BEARING WAS NOT. HE ALSO TOLD US THAT THING DO NOT SEEM TO BE LINED UP PROPERLY WHICH CAUSES VIBRATION. HE WROTE US A LETTER EXPLAINING TO FORD WHERE THE PROBLEM IS, HE TOLD US TO GO TO FORD TO GET THE JOB FIXED PROPERLY UNDER THE WARRANTY. FORD REFUSED TO DO ANYTHING. WE CALLED DAN ABOUT IT, DAN TOLD US TO BRING OUR OLD PARTS HIS SHOP, HE WANTED TO INSPECT THEM, WELL FIRST OF ALL FORD REFUSED TO GIVE US OUR OLD PARTS BACK, AND ONLY GAVE US THE FLY WHEEL. WHEN DAN LOOKED AT THE FLY WHEEL HE WAS SURPRISED AND WONDERED WHY WAS IT REPLACED, IT LOOKED BRAND NEW. DAN TOLD US THAT THE STARTER MUST OF BEEN THE ONLY PROBLEM, AND THAT WAS THE CAUSE BEHIND THAT SCREECHY NOISE. DAN WROTE US ANOTHER LETTER TELLING FORD TO TAKE THEIR TIME AND INSPECT IT PROPERLY. THE LETTER SAID TO INSPECT THE PART LISTED BELOW TO MAKE IT EASIER ON THE MECHANICS AT FORD. FORD STILL REFUSED TO ADMIT THAT THERE WAS ANY KIND OF PROBLEM WITH OUR TRUCK.
SO FORD MANAGER TOLD US TO HAVE OUR MECHANIC TAKE IT APART AND IF HE FINDS THE PROBLEM THEN THEY WILL PAY FOR IT. DAN ENDED UP TAKING IT APART AND WROTE US A BIG LIST OF PROBLEMS CAUSED BY FORD CAUSING EVEN MORE DAMAGE TO OUR TRUCK. HERE IS THE LIST AS DAN WROTE IT.
1. CLUTCH DISK WAS NOT REPLACED.
2. CLUTCH DISK IS BURNED OUT.
3. THROW BEARING WAS NOT REPLACED.
4. PILOT BEARING WAS NOT REPLACED.
5. SCARED AND HOT SPOTS ON NEW FLY WHEEL.
6. MISSING DOWELS ON FLY WHEEL.
7. NOW DAMAGED INPUT SHAFT BEARING FOR MISSING DOWELS.
I AM REALLY GETTING TIRED OF THIS WITH FORD, DAN AT BURIEN COMMUNITY AUTOMOTIVE SERVICE CALLED FORD, ASKED FOR THE FORD MANAGER, SHOP FOREMAN, AND THE MECHANIC WHO DID THE WORK ON THE TRUCK TO COME DOWN TO MEET US AT COMMUNITY AUTOMOTIVE SERVICE. THE FORD GUYS CLAIMED THAT THESE WERE NOT ENOUGH REASONS TO CAUSE THE SHAKING. DAN TOLD THEM THAT'S FINE AND THAT HE IS GOING TO CALL FORD TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE AND PAY FOR THE FLIGHT TICKET TO SHOW THEM THIS PROBLEM AND THEY WILL JUDGE. AND THAT WAS IT, THEY FINALLY DECIDED TO ADMIT IT, AND PAY FOR ALL REPAIRS.

Had taken it to BMW dealer more than 5 times for one problem, never fixed my problem. Took it to Community automotive service and repairs and mission accomplished. Its been two weeks now and i haven't seen the problem any more.

A very recommended automotive repair shop to go to, and I will be taking my baby Porsche there as well. Thanks Dan.

My lucky Google search led me to find Community automotive in burien by skippers and Walgreen. my VW was not to be driven any where, I didn't know what was wrong with it. My husband did some research for mechanics who were a little cheaper than mechanic shops, we got a man who advertised on CL for specializing in German cars since we know not too many people can work on them and her found out than we needed a head gasket, but the price was not acceptable, so we searched around for a head gasket shop, community automotive service had the best price when he agreed to beat all estimates we got by 15%. We had the car towed to him for a head gasket repair, now the funny part begins, where i got a call from the man at Community automotive tell me it was not a head gasket, and just a broken vacuum hose. i dont need to say any more, but to direct people to community Automotive service in Burien Seattle area.
