Great service, great atmosphere. Menu is very creative. Best Caesar salad ever; they grill the romaine!

On Aug. 6, 2009, my husband and I brought our daughter and her boyfriend to the Via for her 22ND birthday. The Via was busy, a hour wait, we did not mind. We enjoyed the refreshments and complimentary appetizers. We requested a table on the patio, where the couches are. Fantastic choice we made, it was so comfortable. We could not stop ravining about the atmosphere, When it was time dinner the service was great, not to mention the delicious food. The evening was such a success.
Thank you.

Complements also to the Valet staff, they were great.
Next day at work I recommended the Via to my Co-worker. All I could say was "Awesome"

We had 5:30 reservations prior to seeing a show at the Hanover Theater. The atmosphere is charming and the service was great. We were seated at our table as soon as we arrived and were told the specials by a very well spoken waitress. All of the meals were explained in detail. The portions are very generous and not too pricey. We completely enjoyed our evening at Via. The valet parking is a definite plus.

We have enjoyed our visits to the Chop House, so we thought Via would be equally enjoyable, but this restaurant is not up to par. We made reservations well in advance, but still had to wait over an hour to be seated when we arrived. Their waiting area was insufficient and I found myself being bumped into another patron's table. The waiter was very forgetful, not helpful, and noteably missing during most of our stay. Service was very slow to the point where we were joking about running down the street to get takeout because we had waited so long.
The food was forgettable; even I could make better lasagne and the veal piccata was cold. The food also looked like it was just slapped on the plate. With dinner entrees between $17 and $25, I would expect a little thoughtfulness behind the presentation.
I don't know what people are raving over at this restaurant! Maybe they think the food tastes so good because they had to wait so long for their meals to arrive?

I've been to VIA a half dozen times since it opened and I've been extremely pleased every time. The spit roasted pork is so delicious that I have trouble exploring more items off the menu.

On our last visit my wife wasn't very hungry so we shared a pair of appetizers. The appetizer portions are generous enough to be entire meals themselves. I recommend trying the artichoke hearts and the italian fonduta.

My Husband and I had the 'brilliant idea' of booking some reservations for New Years Eve... thought we'd cancel them if we had no takers to come along with us or if our plans changed. Well, word of mouth is out there that this is a GREAT place to eat and our happy party of 6 met at Via on New Year's Eve. It was mobbed, you can imagine - but our table was waiting for us. I was doubly impressed that we had the option of being seated to wait for the remainder of our group who were a few minutes late - instead of looking at our empty table while waiting in the cramped entry (it's happened at other restaurants - a practice that I can't stand!!)

The food is outstanding, as all the other reviewers can attest. Nice portions, without being stingy or obscenely huge. I had the Lobster Gnocchi and was thrilled. I was also surprised that I would have been equally happy with each of the other entrees that our friends ordered. Everything was wonderful and we were all happy to share bites with each other! Try the mushroom risotto, too if you can. Rich and creamy and so very flavorful.

All told and including apps, drinks, entrees, desserts and coffees - our bill was just over $200 for six people!

Just booked a reservation for Valentine's Day. Can't wait to go back.

To the poster who complained about poor service - please do give it another try! We had an exceptional experience on one of the busiest dining nites of the year - without even a hiccup in service (we had two servers.) A party of six - two of whom are finicky - and not one item was forgotten, missed, or incorrect. We were not rushed, nor did the servers linger and hold us up. A perfect balance.

Cold Coffee, even? I would have sent it back instead of drinking it..

The six of us arrived 10 minutes late for our reservation on a wickedly busy Friday night, but they'd held our table and sat us immediately -- a very good sign. Two very pleasant wait staff greeted us almost as soon as we were seated. There was fresh bread on the table before we had even started looking at the menus.

It's a terrific menu -- enough variety to be interesting but not overwhelming. Anytime you can find more than a few entrees you want to try without having to turn a page, you know you're reading a good menu. Frankly, I wanted to try every entree, but I settled for the Osso Buco and a side of garlicky spinach. But first, calimari and fried artichoke hearts.

The calimari was lightly coated and perfectly cooked, served with a perky puttanesca sauce that was the ideal counter. The artichoke hearts were only okay, but then, I like my artichoke hearts cold and marinated.

The Osso Buco was terrific -- great flavor and falling-off-the-bone tender, with a nice tomato "gravy" and roasted potatos. The garlicky spinach was good, but it was finely chopped -- I prefer the texture of the whole leaf, and it would benefit from a little olive oil (which was on the table, so easily remedied). My wife had the seared scallops with pesto, and, like the calimari, they were perfectly done with a golden sear and tender center. Our friends had salmon, lamb chop and shrimp scampi, and were all very pleased. Gelati completed the meal beautifully.

Service was outstanding the entire night without ever being intrusive.

One caveat, Via is not a quiet place, at least not where we were sitting, back by the open kitchen. But, the noise isn't from the kitchen -- that's remarkably quiet. It's from the other diners. The decor is very attractive but apparently could use some acoustic engineering help.

We met friends to try VIA for the first time and we thoroughly enjoyed every moment. The waitstaff was efficient, polite and friendly. The service was exceptional and the food and drinks arrived promptly. Each course was ready when we were. The portions were very generous! Normally my husband finishes at least half of my entree but he was so full after his own that we took it home. We each tried something different and were not disappointed. The Espresso Brownie Sundae was pure heaven...mmmm.
I highly recommend giving it a try.

Because we enjoy the Chop House and Sole Proprietor so much we could not wait to try Via. We were very disappointed. The wait staff forgot our drinks and so we had to ask for them when our appetizers arrived. About 5 minutes later our drinks and dishes for the appetizers were served as our appetizers were getting cold. The clams casino were chewy and the crostini appetizer was tasteless and presented very poorly For dinner, the paella was just OK and the veal scallopine was chewy, tough and bland. We waited and waited for the dessert menus. We watched the table next to us get their dessert menus when they finished their meals after us. After being ignored for about 10- 15 minutes we asked for our coffees and a desert menu. Our coffees were served cold. The chocolate ricotta pie was too dense. We watched the couple at the table across from us wait and wait for service while we waited to be offered the the dessert menus. They still had their menus when we had our cold coffee and dessert. When were leaving after paying our bill, we noticed that the couple across from us were still waiting for service and they still had their menus. We were very disappointed and therefore will not dine at Via again.

VIA??s ??Italian comfort food? is not southern Italian and it??s not northern Italian ?? it??s based on the best authentic recipes from throughout Italy. Many ingredients are imported fresh from Italy and there are 50 Italian wines to choose from. Where else can you find dishes like gnocchi pie and Italian paella? There??s even an Italian table, where you can dine with strangers and make new friends.
