I know many people have been upset that the Michael's moved from it's East Blvd location out to East Chase. As with many other stores such as Old Navy they have to move I guess where they feel people are most comfortable shopping and feel safe. It is a longer drive for me but has less traffic being that I can ust catch the highway to get there instead of fighting East Blvd traffic. The Newer East Chase Shopping Center is nice, neat and has many shops to choose from.

The new Michaels there takes some getting use to as the layout is different. I walked around for about 15 minutes trying to find the scrapbook supplies to finally ask one of the staff and be told it was in the middle of the store. To which she kindly took me to the items I was looking for. I also noticed since their opening they now seem to be understaffed. One girl in particular looked run ragged and was constantly being called to assist here and there. I called corporate about it, cause you can complain to friends or here but nothing will get done unless corporate is made aware, no point in talking to the store manager. The store was alright not great on cleanliness. There were boxes on the floors and shopping carts with items in them. My daughter used the bathroom and it wasn't nasty but there was no soap and some TP on the floor. If they are as short staffed as they appear I can understand that. Looked like they had enough to do trying to put up stock and assist customers on a Thursday afternoon, I only saw 4 employees total, including the one on the register. Obviously it's a lack of finding good employees or Michaels corporation cutting their budget, either way I voiced my opinions and thought to include them here as well.

Also for those AC Moore and Hobby Lobby fans, I shop at all three and a hint, Michaels allows you to use your coupons from those competitors at their store!!! Also on Sunday mornings about every other week when you enter Michaels on the floor in the glass entrance is a black box in which they put extra flier that have coupons, once that box is empty they have no more, so don't bother asking the one cashier as I did, they won't have any left.

They have a nice selection of plants here. I also like the candles here and the different flowers that you can make a nice centerpiece out of. They also give you ideas on making different things for your house.

When the Super Center opened there, we would shop this Michaels pretty often. Then when Super Centers started popping up everywhere, this store became a go to when we can't find it closer to the house. Which does happen from time to time. Of course, it's kind of a hit and miss there too. Sometimes they have it and sometimes they are like the "other" stores and either don't stock it or are out. The sales staff is o.k. This store doesn't seem to be kept as neat and tidy as some others, but it will do. Prices are competitive. There just isn't anything special about this store that would make us pass up the AC Moore store or Hobby Lobby to choose them, so it makes them our 3rd place choice when hunting craft supplies and truthfully that is only because of it's location in proximity to our home.
