.

We had a 1999 Mustang. It needed to have the brake service done. Since we got the coupon from Tire Plus in the neighborhood, we think it'd be good to give the business to the local shop. We brought the car in on Saturday, after the inspection, they quoted $314.97 to replace the front pad and rotors. We thought it was reasonable, and left the car for them to do the work. Couple hours later, they said the car was ready. We went in and paid the bill. My husband drove the car home (about 2 miles), and noticed there was smoke coming out. He took the car right back. The technician found that there was grease on the right side (why was it, I don??t understand.) and the left side of brake was locked up. Thank goodness that my husband didn??t drive to the high way. It was accident bound to happen. They didn??t know what to do, and asked us to leave the car in the shop till next day. Sunday, we went in the shop and asked for the status. The person said that the calipers could be a problem, but they don??t know. They asked to replace that, and we will have to pay for that. They offered discount. But, we were not confident that the guy??s knowledge, and we believed that they should have test drive the car before sent the customer to drive the car after the brake work. We said we will need to talk to the manager Monday, believing that the manager will offer apology and explanation, and takes responsibility. Monday morning, my husband talked to the manager, he offered NO apology, insisted the car was OK, even though the brake was heating up, smoking and locked up. Furthermore, he offered no discount. Basically, he said we need to pay the full price to replace caliper, as it is now not working after their brake work. And they don??t know how to make sure the brake job was done correctly either. We believe it??s dangerous to drive the car. We are going to tow the car to the Ford dealer and see what needs to be fixed after Tire Plus messed up the car.

My experience from Tire Plus at 2270 Cliff Road Eagan, MN 55122: They are not qualified to be in the auto repair business. They should not be in the business. When they mess up, they don??t apologize, they just want more money to fix the mess they created. They don??t have the technical expertise for the car and furthermore, the manager doesn??t have business manner for the customer. They shouldn??t be in the business for working on anybody??s car.
