I've been going to different Gold's locations for 15 years and this is the only one I've had a problem with. The evening staff smokes in the offices near the cardio equipment. The gym just completed renovations and somehow they have managed to make it worse.

They moved the weight plate stands far away from the benches which turns the place into a dangerous obstacle course. On top of that actually got rid of most of the flat benches. They have a lot of machines that nobody uses and not enough of the core equipment to go around.

Maybe the management will wise up, but until then If you are looking for a serious, smoke-free workout, go somewhere else.

This Golds appears to have been crammed into an existing storefront in Arlington. The gym itself is a dystended U shape, contorting around the apparent confines of whatever establishment was there before. The equipment is well-worn, and shows its age, but still appears to be in good working order. The decor is a step above 1950s-era Soviet apartment block, so if you are looking for beautiful people and the stunning decor usually associated with high-end fitness clubs, this place is probably sure to to disappoint. However, if you're simply looking for a solid local gym in which to get your workout fix, this location is as good a choice as any.
