La Familia Gallery

I recently purchased some artwork from La Familia and the staff was so personable. Lanae Rivers-Woods is the owner and she is anything but pretentious. I felt quite comfortable in the purchasing process. I have also gone to the gallery during events and I have always felt welcome even when I was not buying anything. Go support this artist, she truly is one of a kind!

Have you ever gone to a strange place for the first time, and when you walked through the door it was like coming home? This is what you experience at La Familia. Maybe, it's the sense of community, the artistic diversity, or the beautiful owners. I'm sure the food doesn't hurt either. I can't completely put my finger on it, but there is something rare that just resonates with me. La Familia is the place you go to help keep peace with your soul.

I visit La Familia whenever I get to Seattle. There is always something new on diplay, ranging from fabric art to paintings to you name it! I've learned that when I see something I like, I had better get it while I can, because it will soon go home with someone else. The owners are warm-hearted and welcoming, both art lovers and gifted artists themselves. I definitely recommend repeated visits to La Familia Gallery.

La Familia Gallery is a wonderful community resource because of their focus on reaching out to artists of all kinds - painters, musicians, writers - who benefit from presenting their creations at the gallery and meeting each other in an open, friendly environment. There's lots of talk about "multidisciplinary art" these days but La Familia walks the walk!

I usually found art galleries to be cold, pretentious, and generally unwelcoming places......but not now....

I went in to La Familia and people actually came up and said hello and I felt I didn't have to speak French or be depressed to like the Art. Great warm staff and they attract like people.

There was a band, great snacks and wine when I went on a First Thursday.............

I really enjoyed my visit to this warm little gallery. I was fortunate enough to meet the owners and a couple of featured artists, and found them all to be kind, friendly people who worked to create a sense of community among local artists and people who enjoy art (hence the name of the gallery, I think). I'd recommend this gallery to locals and visitors alike; finding it was one of the highlights of my last trip to Seattle.
