I can't speak to the hospital as I visit a different vet for my pet care and can only speak to the resort portion of the facility but if the clinic is anything like the resort you would be hard pressed to find a better place in town. I began taking my dog to the resort about 5 months ago and I can't believe I waited that long to do it. The facility is beautiful and clean and the staff is wonderful. The manager there is accommodating to our needs (which can be demanding, we treat our baby like our own children). I recommend the pet resort to anyone who has trepidations or fears about leaving their pets in a kennel where they may only get out two times a day. The second time we went to drop our little man off as soon as we pulled into the parking lot his tail began to wag and he rushed out of the car to get inside. That's all the review I need.

1. Caring, attentive staff that works with you!
2. Awesome new facility and price-conscious treatment!
3. A place that knows and treats your pet like it was their own.

I would like to share my wonderful experience with you.
I took in a stray cat my sophomore year and at the advice of other college students I took him, Holden, to Animal Aide in Tallahassee. They seemed to be pretty popular, so I thought this was quality care.
One night my cat kept returning to the litter box, this was in February of 2006, and I had to take him to emergency vet care which at the time was only at Northwood Animal Hospital. I met Dr. Julie Moodoyan and she cared for my animal. She ran only the tests necessary to diagnose the problem so to not overcharge me and helped my cat fully recover at a very reasonable price. I have heard of people spending thousands of dollars for emergency vet visits because the vet wouldn't take the time to get records from the previous facility and will just re-administer everything and charge you from scratch, not this place, they took the time to do this and I couldn't believe how lucky I was. Throughout the entire visit they were attentive and there for me and helped me through the process of our visit.
I had realized that although animal aide is great for bargain services such as vaccines, spay/neuter, etc. when you have a pet that needs anything more than basic care the choice in vet is crucial. Dr. Moodoyan also told me about alternative treatment for my animal for his hyper-thyroid condition, instead of struggling with a daily pill that my previous vet told me was the only way she prescribed me an equally economic topical cream that Holden much prefers.
In late 2006 Holden also needed another pretty serious vet visit, he is probably about 18 years old now and having some kidney issues. Not only did Seminole vet allow me to take Holden over to their overnight facility myself to save on transfer fees, and not charge me the emergency fee since it was a transfer, they also allowed me to buy the supplies I needed before I took him there because they were a little less expensive at their satellite office (Seminole) before I went to the overnight facility (Northwood) and saved me even more. When he was there they let me come back after I got off work at 1am and spend hours with my cat while he was undergoing IV treatment so that he would not be afraid and I would be comforted.
Periodically when I have needed blood work they even suggest to me that if it is not urgent that they should send the blood work out instead of doing it in house for more savings. What place will send business elsewhere to financially help their customers? I can think of only one, Seminole Animal Hospital. Regarding prescriptions, instead of charging me each month for a refill they've issued me larger quantities to last longer to save on Rx fees, and if they don't have the medication, they will call in a Rx within minutes to a local pharmacy that has reasonable prices as well. I have left every time knowing that I have gotten the best treatment and at the best price. Since Holden is tricky and high-maintence, Dr. Moodoyan has even consulted other vets around the US on his specifics to ensure the best treatment.
From day one they have treated me as a valued customer. Dr. Moodoyan takes the time to explain test results on the phone to me so I don't have to come in and pay for a visit, and she does so in the evening when I am available because she is working late herself. When I'm rushing around throughout the semester, I call ahead and tell them what I need (whatever food or medication), and they have it ready for me at the front office. They let me stay with my cat during visits. Their new facilities are state of the art. Of course not everyone can be as wonderful as Dr. Moodoyan, but overall I would rate their staff a billion times better than any other vet office in town and my friends and I have worked with several. Not to mention, the level of spectacular and professional care I have received from most of them cancels out any doubt on the integrity of the staff as a whole.
I know this is long but I cannot impress upon you more that I owe many of my cat's 9 lives to the people at Seminole (now called Southwood) Animal Hospital. I can't think of any other medical facility (animal and/or people) that cares for their patients and their family as much as these people do. Holden and I are truly eternally indebted to them and they set the standard in Veterinary Care.

Being new to the tallahasse area, we were looking for a new vet, but with recent bad experiences, were very weary. Very large and beautiful hospital. The staff was very professional and capable and the veterinarian was very personal and seemed to really take a sincere personal interest in my dog. My dog is usually very uncomfortable around strangers and usually not very good at the vet, but he really seemed to gravitate towards the doctor and her staff. I am officially a life long client and cannot wait for my next visit and taking full advantage of their very cool pet resort!

I feel this animal hospital and pet resort is the greatest! Our animals (two dogs) have been patients for eight years. We began when Dr. Jerry Deloney was the vet and it was the Seminole Animal Hospital. Jerry sold the business and retired. The staff and vets there now are friendly, courteous and knowledgeable. The facility is brand new, very clean, and uses the latest technology. The "resort" area is really something for pet owners who REALLY want and can afford to give their pets a pampered stay.

When we moved to the Tallahassee area, we had to find a new vet. We chose this one because it was the closest to our house and my work. The place is very small, and apparently the techs aren't used to people waiting with their pets. They were very rude, hurt my dog while trying to take blood, and didn't seem to know how to do many basic tasks. The place reeked of urine, and there was so much hair on the floors and chairs that I was completely covered when we left. The vet was also very rude and uncommunicative. When we were finally able to leave, the techs took almost 20 minutes to check us out even though we were the only customers in the place. All in all, it was a horrible experience, and I WILL NEVER go back to this place.
