Tokyo No Hana has lunch specials that are a steal

by Paula B.

This is my favorite place for tenpenaki in Dallas. I dine with them as often as I can. The lunch rates are a steal for all the wonderfully cooked food they give you. It is not a brand new building but by no means is it dirty. The staff has always been friendly. I am shocked by the negative comments posted here.

The House of the Rats

by bb b.

This place is the house of the Rats. Be careful of your health.

Why don't you wanna come to see rats's race and bet on that.
And worst service and non-prof management staff. Manager Lady is like Female Prison guard. unfreindly

this place is great

by Nelsie A.

Tokyo No Hana is my favorite in Dallas. Excellent sushi and tempura. My husband and I love this place. We found the food to be fresh. Other guests that we have taken there have also been impressed. The prices for sushi are the best in Dallas.

I am not pretending to be a sushi expert by any means, however I have been fortunate to travel to Tokyo and various parts of Japan for work. While I was there I ate sushi and tempura all the time. I am happy I found Tokyo No Hana to answer my sushi craving. By the way, sushi on a conveyor belt is very common in Japan, in case you didn't know.

Excellent, Consistent, High Quality

by Nicholas M.

My wife and I have eaten at Tokyo No Hana weekly since we moved to Lake Highlands 2 years ago. It is consistently good at the sushi bar. Despite the other reviewer who had a bad experience at lunch on a Saturday on the "buffet" (which, if you have ANY experience AT ALL eating sushi, you should know to avoid buffet sushi and order it from the chef in person so you can see him/her preparing it) I would recommend this place as a favorite. It has a great local neighborhood atmostphere, extremely attentive and friendly staff, and very fresh, modestly priced sushi. (The hibachi is a lot of fun too!)

Bottom Line: You can go south on Greenville and pay twice as much for the exact same product and trade the friendly atmosphere for a snobbish bar feel, but I wouldn't!

Not a good sushi bar

by callie n.

Cool idea - sushi moving around a turnstyle like a little choo choo for you to pick off your favorite dish --- that seemed to translate onto 'exactly how long HAS this stuff been traveling around that thing?' That concern was confirmed in the taste. NOT fresh, would NOT recommend.

Excellent Sushi and Habachi Cooks

by Tim B. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 5,104

This is a great hibachi restaurant, and the cooks put on a great show. They always make a flaming volcano out of an onion, and the kids love it. The have a great sushi bar with a bid flat panel right behind it. The atmosphere is great and includes and indoor court yard with waterfall. The service, food and prices are very good. It is an excellent choice for families or just couples.

Great Hibachi Grill

by Joann S.

I love this place! I have been to several other hibachi grills in the Dallas and north Dallas area and this by far the best. It has a great atmosphere and a great group of staff. The waiters are very friendly and the chefs are the best! They are very comical and good at their job. We go there every Valentine's Day to celebrate and quite a few times during the year.
I give 5 stars across the board to this restaurant.

Great Hibachi & Sushi Bar

by gracie m. | insider Insider | Rank: 19,950

Located on Greenville between Walnut and Meadow, this Japanese restaurant has a very tranquil atmosphere and reasonable prices.

At lunch, there's a revolving sushi bar, with small dishes of sushi, rolls and squid or seaweed salad lazily circling on a conveyor belt. For $11.95 ($12.95 on Saturdays), diners can choose five plates, served with a bowl of miso soup.

The majority of the dining space is devoted to hibachi tables and the cooked-before-your-eyes spectacle of grilled meats, seafood and vegetables. Hibachi meals come with soup, vegetables and white rice (upgrade to fried rice for an additional $2); at dinner, they also include a shrimp appetizer, hot tea and a dish of ice cream.

Pros: Atmosphere, Friendly Staff
Cons: Can be expensive for dinner
