Great nails, but AWFUL SERVICE. My fiancee bought me a $100 gift card two weeks ago for a spa day here. They sat me down immediately and started to do my nails while upselling a massage/pedi etc. (I'm not denying that they didn't do well in that respect, the nails are lovely and the massage, albeit awkward for someone who isn't used to being pampered, was incredible). My fiancee went to the register to check the balance of the gift card, because he'd experienced issues with it the first week where the balance showed $0 instead of $100. The company that handles the gift card balances said that they rectified the situation and corrected the balance, but he wanted to double check before they finished my nails. Upon bringing it to the register, however, the cashier told him straight up "we won't take this" without even swiping the card, and snipped the corner off before handing it back, deeming the card unusable. I ended up having to pay $70 out of pocket while my fiancee fumed, and the owner and the man behind the register just stood there and laughed in his face. After he stormed out they told me that the reason they wouldn't accept the gift card is because it was purchased before they changed ownership in April, which is complete nonsense because he bought it in August. Regardless of the business being handed off to someone new, I think they should still honor any gift card with their business' name on it, and the company that handles the card balances agrees. We have contacted BBB, who told us that what has happened is fraud, and that we have a case. We will be contacting the Fort Bend District Attorney as well, because this is a criminal misdemeanor, and no business should be able to get away with treating anyone this badly. It truly is a shame that this had to happen, because before they stole $100 from us and treated us like absolute garbage I thought I had found my new niche for a nail salon. I am not the type to be incredibly vocal in any negative way, and I usually just say live and let learn to bad experiences, but this one has upset both of us badly enough that I feel it should be told. My father is a police officer and my godparents are both lawyers, so I am educated enough to know that I am well within my rights to take this case to court. It's not even the fact that they essentially robbed two students who were broke to begin with, it's the fact that they treated us so horribly for no reason at all. I would also like to point out that my fiancee tried to write a scathing review on their Yelp page the day of the incident, and it was immediately deleted from the thread. Very suspect, considering their only reviews are four stars and higher.
Hopefully they will see the error of their ways, and fix the situation. If not, I am prepared to use my power as a writer, blogger, an employee at a large university (we have free speech message boards strewn all over campus) and my status as an influential name amongst 20-somethings in the Houston area to take this spa down.

After three years of inconsistent customer service by the owner but good work by the manicurists, I have called it quits at Sweetwater Nails following an exchange of words and the owner cussing at me --UNACCEPTABLE! I spent $90 less than 10 days ago before bringing a group of VIPs to Lauren's salon for a $205 bill today. I called in advance and the ladies received good service. However when I asked the owner about my gel nails that had come off (3 out of 10) she didn't want to dialogue and only kept reaching for my credit card. When I asked her what was her rush, her reply that everyone was ready to go. I points out that there was another customer in the salon & manicurists were sitting waiting. Owner debated the length of time I had gel nails (grateful for online banking which proved me correct). She then told me that I must be rough on the nails (not). Conversation did not go her way and therefore ended with her shouting explicatives above her Christian music. Never the less, that was my LAST visit.

I used to do nails many years ago. I have been to many salons in this area and this one is by far my favorite. I love the owner, no matter when I come in she has a glass of wine ready for me! The prices are very reasonable and all the girls I've seen there do great work.

This place was awesome. I went with my wife and had a great time. They made us feel comfortable and relaxed. They do not cut on the service. They are very clean and professional. My wife and I plan on going back once a month.

I have been going to Sweetwater Nails for over 2 years. My Mom's Group goes there once a month as a group. The service has always been great and my pedicures last for at least 3 weeks. I highly recommend this nail salon

I have been going here for about two years now and Sweetwater is my preferred place for mani/pedi and nails. The pedi is unbeatable! And I like the ambience and speed at which they get people into chairs. I have never felt rushed or hurried and it is always relaxing. However, buyer beware, my credit card has been overcharged twice in the past six months (they enter a different amount for the final sale than what I have written on the receipt). Additionally, the prices fluctuate seemingly on a whim and I was once charged for a french pedi before I pointed out that I bring my own red nail polish. The owner scratched a new figure onto my receipt and then charged me the higher amount when the sale was final. I know what I am getting into now, so from now on I will be dealing in cash only. So ladies, enjoy this place because it is great... but pay in cash if you want to guarantee the correct price.

I have been going to Sweetwater Nails since they first opened and I could not be happier. Everyone in the salon is extremely professional and considerate. I love the ambiance of the spa and all of the staff is wonderful and always go out of their way to take care of you! I especially like Lauren and feel that she does an amazing job of running such a busy salon. I recommend Sweetwater nails to anyone that is looking for a friendly, professional and sanitized nail salon.

While they are pretty cramped in the front of the store, they give quick service at good, reasonable prices. You definitely get your moneys worth in the fact that most places dont use hot stones in a spa pedicure, where they do. The solar nails look nice, but they dont last as long or are as strong as other places i have been to. The staff is friendly, but a bit unprofesional.Overall, i would recommend going here. Its a nice way to relax and be pampered, while not spending a fortune.

When ever I have a day off - this is my first choice! The ladies are so friendly, the owner is super accommodating, and my boyfriend and I are both treated like royalty there! It is quite busy usually, but it's a great value for the the deluxe pedicures and their solar nail ladies are superbly trained! My nails last for three to four weeks when I get them done, and my pedicures still look like new! It just doesn't compare to anything around sugar land for the price!! Highly recommend!

It is true that they do not really honor an appointment time unless you are the first of the day. I have been going here for about a year. I have been very pleased with waxing--ask for Tracy. The quality for mani/pedi is not so good. My husband gets treated like a king and they women are rushed through like an assembly line. They do talk about the clients a lot in Vietnamese and it is a little unsettling. But the owner is very nice and tries to be very accommodating.

I had a bikini wax today and they were so nice and professional. The price was great and the service was amazing. I live in Houston but would come out there every time due to the great service.

I have to say this is better than Elite Nails....it's not even in the same category. Amazing staff, friendly....and the list goes on. For less than $50 I received a french manicure & pedicure, which also included paraffin treatment and a hot stone massage on both arms and legs. Very clean, and very elegant. They are the "sweetest manicure & pedicure in Sugar Land" as they call themselves.
