Couldn't concentrate on the food at a Christmas party dinner -- but let me tell ya -- the next time those gaseous fumes come bubbling up out of the plumbing like Texas Tea, I'd get out of there ASAP.

We found this restaurant by mistake... the name is fooling. We thought we were going to a good steakhouse and it turns out to be a mediterranean place. We have been going there for almost a year now. The food is one of a kind... lamb shank, dolmades, and the best steak I've had in a long time! The prices are fairly reasonable for the quantity of food you get. I've never left ther hungry! The napkins are unusual... shaped like a flower... wish they would change them to something a little easier to use. The servie is usually outstanding, unless you are unfortuante to get someone really young or new. The only problem we have ever had was with management though. We were approached by a red head when we about to leave the last time and she asked how everything was. We started to explain how great everything was and praise our waitress, but she pretty much cut us off and explained that she was the manager... she acted as if she sat us at our table, cooked and served our food and cleaned up afterwards. It was rather annoying. I guess the title went to her head. All in all, this is a great place... just avoid the red head!

Don't get me wrong, this place is outstanding. The food and service is always wonderful, but the bar needs a lot of work. We have been going to this place since they opened, and bartenders change quite frequently. On our very first visit, I ordered a martini, my favorite. At first, I thought the waitress had spilled it, but the bartender came over ( a rude red headed girl) who told me that the martini glasses were larger than normal. Come on girl, READ a bartending book and LOOK at the proper measurement. She was extraordinarily RUDE. The next time we visited, there was another bartender, a blonde who made the best martini EVER! I was excited to see the other girl was gone. Recently, they put another girl back there who makes an okay martini, but still there is no comparison to how it SHOULD BE! Really, they need to get a pro back there. That's why they have absolutely no bar business!

My husband and I had heard this restaurant was expensive so we jumped for joy when we received a postcard in the mail offering dinner for two for $39.95. We overheard a waitress at Grecian Gardens telling someone it was owned by the same family. Our coupone included an appetizer, soup/salad, entree, dessert and a glass of wine for each of us. There was no wait and our waiter was fabulous! He encouraged us to take our time and enjoy ourselves. We ordered brushetta and fried zucchini with cheese garlic spread. We did not enjoy the brushetta as much as the zucchini, which was fabulous. We ordered seafood bisque soup (out of this world), and the 10 ounce New York strip with portobello mushrooms and provolone cheese. THIS WAS ABSOLUTELY THE BEST STEAK I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY ENTIRE LIFE! It was grilled, flavorful, and very, very tender. It did not need the mushrooms or the cheese. We ordered two desserts alike (one to eat there and one to go). It was a chocolate cake with gnoche icing and a whipped topping between the layers. The cake was a little dry and I wished we had ordered two different desserts so we could have tried something else too. I added up our food from the menu and it appeared it would have been approx. $65-$70. Our visit was wonderful and I can't wait to go back - hope we get another coupon soon!

We have visited The Black Bull on numerous occasions. It is a truly unique experience located in Cayce, SC. Great food, superb service, and an enchanting atmosphere.Upon entrance to the restaurant, you will notice the decor. The white tablecloths, black napkins in a lovely flower shape and candles throughout. We were greeted by an extraordinary young man at the door with dark curly hair who immediately welcomed us and asked us for the number in our party and our last name. This was a little unusual, since they appeared to not be on a wait, but none the less, we gave it to him. He then went to set up our table, and shortly after, he escorted us to a nice booth, decorated as stated above. He told us to enjoy our evening and informed us that Danielle would be with us shortly. Not even a minute passed when a young lady appeared at our table, calling us by last name and letting us know that she was Danielle and that she would be taking care of us that evening. This was rather impressive. She informed us of the drink special of the evening and offered us several drink options from the bar. We were deliberating over wine, so she gave us a few minutes to discuss. When she returned to the table to get our wine order, she kindly brought 2 glasses of water - this is something I usually have to ask for at most restaurants, so this was nice. She proceeded to get our drink order from the bar, and presented and opened the bottle in front of us. While opening the bottle, she proceeded to discuss appetizers and gave us some recommendations. She recommended the shrimp ouzo and a multitude of others, but we decided to try the shrimp. Before she left to place the order, she informed us of the catch of the day as well as other specials offered that evening. A few minutes passed, and she returned with our appetizer and took our entree order. She had recommended several entrees, and we were so impressed by her appetizer, that we followed her recommendations. I ordered the lamb shank and my wife ordered the black bull linguine. We also ordered 2 dinner salads. Danielle returned to our table promptly after our appetizer was finished and took away our appetizer plates. She quickly returned with our salads and some delicious bread with a plate of garlic and herbs which she topped with olive oil and fresh ground pepper. Her timing was impeccable. She returned to get our salad plates just after we had finished and shortly returned with our entrees. Dinner was incredible. Everything was delicious. After our meal, she offered dessert, and told us about all of the desserts offered. We decided to try the tirimisu and the black bull torte which were extraordinary! She even offered us the perfect after dinner drink - 2 espresso martinis, which we were so excited about having. Let me just say again that the food was absolutely delicious and the service was impeccable. The food was piping hot and beautifully arranged - even the sprig of rosemary on the lamb shank was a beautiful touch. And the service - never once did our drinks get even close to halfway before she refilled them. She even topped off our wine for us when she visited our table. The pricing is a little pricey at The Black Bull, but like the old saying goes, "You get what you pay for." This is definitely a place I would highly recommend to all! We try to visit there at least once a month. I do have one recommendation for the owner though. Keep up the incredible work! Your chef, your host and your server are the reason we will be back!!!!
