Dr. HIllard is dangerous and should not be operating IMO. #1: I have insider information that on one of his patients he performed a breast aug. with one implant OVER the muscle and one implant UNDER the muscle, when the pt had complications he claimed the implant "slipped out of the pocket". Upon a redo w/ another surgeon, it was clear that one implant was never placed under the muscle and was deliberately done w/ one over, one under!!!
#2 He is big on "mini" facelifts, and when they fail, his patients are forced to go to another surgeon and just have a full facelift anyway!! Time, $$$, pain and fear.
#3 A lawyer I contacted after MY unsuccessful browlift with Hillard told me I was the FIFTH patient in one years' time contacting him about Mr. Hillard ( 3 breast complaints, 1 face--like me). I was informed that NC Medical Mutual NEVER settles and EVERYTHING goes to trial. NC is a VERY hard state to sue in, unlike others, and then there is the issue of local MD's testifying against each other. Very uncomfortable, and time consuming for THEM. Lawyers advice: Complain to the North Carolina Medical Board and contact other former patients to "expose" him publicly like they do on the TV news, when too may ppl are unhappy.
Also, anyone know why his entire staff left??? (barring that annoying CRNA)

My wife had an abdominoplasty at Dr. Hilliard's office. Needless to say as a surgeon in the area, we could have chosen anyone based on first hand knowledge of their performance in the operating room. With that "insider information" we chose Dr. Hilliard hands down. She got a beautiful result and excellent care from Dr. Hilliard as well as his staff.

With 25 years of operating experience, I agree that an E. Coli infection several weeks after an operation could not have come from anywhere else but the patient or as a result of the patient's actions i.e. poor handwashing, small children, etc. That infection did not come from an operating room. It's simply not possible.

I have been to The Personal Image Center for both skin care as well as surgery. I have read the reviews and am appalled by the person claiming she got an infection from Dr. Hillliard's office. If what she claims was true she would have a lawsuit against him and, per her attorney's advice, would not be able to write these ridiculous reviews. Evidently she does NOT have a case so she has resorted to what basically amounts to libel. Unfortunately, Dr. Hilliard is too nice of a guy to sue her but, in my professional opinion, he should. HE certainly has a case against HER.

I am a nurse in Cary and have gone to Dr. Hilliard for breast augmentation. He did a wonderful job!!!!! He did several other nurses in Cary that they are all pleased as well. I agree with Michael. Not only has Dr. Hilliard NEVER had an infection occur with a breast augementation, but there is absolutely NO WAY that patient got E. Coli from his office. First of all, that patient claims she went to another surgeon several weeks later. If she got E.Coli from his office, it would have shown up long before then and it would have been an absolute emergency to remove those implants the day it was discovered not weeks later. If she got E. Coli it had to come from her or someone close to her like a partner or a child in diapers.

I had my first breast augmentation on Feb. 14 2007 my implant deflated within a month. Dr. Hilliard said he would send a report to mentor to find out what happened to it ( he never did) yet mysteriously mentor paid for the next surgery?. He replaced my implants on March 27 2007 and three weeks later it looked like an air bubble was poking underneath my skin on my breast , it was red and looked like a third nipple, yet he said things were fine. Mentor told me to get a second opinion and when I did , that Doctor told me what was really going on it was an impending extrusion (where the implant comes out through your skin) and possible infection. My second Dr. wanted my medical report to see what in the world happened. When Dr. Hilliards office was alerted to this they asked me to come back in so he could have another look, he again said nothing was wrong, I was in no danger, there was no infection and I should not worry about it. The next day pus poured out of my breast soaking my shirt the bacterial culture taken from the fluid came back as e-coli, I had the implants taken out by my second Dr. When I confronted Dr. Hilliard with these facts he arrogantly refused to give me my money back and yelled at me and my family. Telling his office staff to call the police if we did not leave. If this dosent motivate you to stay away from this Doctor then I dont know what would.
