purchased a 27 ft above ground pool from them in 2007. We purchased their filter, pump and "salt water system" since then we have had to replace the filter to a sand filter and replace the their "salt water system" with a real working system. Not to mention the salt has caused the piece that holds our liner up is rusting so bad it may give away at any moment. I had to contact our local pool company to get an est. on replacing the rusted pieces, due to our deck and that our liner is an "over lap" kind we must replace the entire liner with a beaded one and a beaded kit a total cost of about $1100.00. I am very unhappy with REC Warehouse, they sold me a salt water pool & knowing that we would be installing a deck. It is our 1st pool so we did not know I trusted them in helping us purchase the right pool for us. They misled us in every way...filter was too small to do the job, salt water system had to have the "cell" replaced EVERY season, now the rust problem. We thought we were saving $2000.00 3 years ago but now know we have spent more than that repairing or replacing the parts that fail. I will NEVER purchase ANYTHING from REC Warehouse again. My horrible experience was at the Virginia Beach, Va location.

We purchased an above-ground pool from Recreational Warehouse on May 29, 2006 and after continued delays finally got the pool installed almost a month after it was promised. This spring, while getting the pool going we discovered a faulty gate valve which was clearly under manufacturer warranty. So we call Rec Warehouse which is 50 miles from our home and ask them to send us a replacement. Ohhhh no can't do that, have to bring the old one in and exchange it! So I get to spend $15 or $20 in gas and half a day driving to replace a part that's under warranty!!! AGGHHH I couldn't believe this guy!! I even offered to let him charge me for the new part until he received the faulty one from me. Ohhh no can't do that "we're not set up for shipping" he says - what a crock - tells me to call the 1-800 number for the manufacturer.

I have to say that with the exception of this failed valve, the pool equipment has been fine. Recreational Warehouse customer service though is absolutely deplorable - I strongly advise anyone shopping for an above ground pool or spa to look elsewhere if you want someone who will give you something besides excuses after the sale.
