Our precious cats have been fortunate to be in the care of the Riverside Vet Group/Ansonia Vet. Hospital on W. 79th, an affiliate of the Riverside Animal Hospital on W. 108th St. We were appalled to hear about the recent irresponsible and devastating article by the New York Post attributing a tragic malpractice at a similarly-named but totally unrelated clinic in Washington Heights, to the Riverside practice on W. 108th. The craven journalism of Rupert Murdock comes closer to home! Because the 108th and 79th facilities share some of the medical staff, I want animal lovers to know about the quality of care given M and Q (names from James Bond!) over their many years. Dr. Freedman and the staff at 79th street have been absolutely fantastic in their professional care and their level of personal concern. As senior citizens, M and Q??s health needs increased greatly in recent years, and I always felt the advice was sound, realistic, and compassionate, with thorough follow-up phone inquiries by the very caring desk staff after office visits and medical procedures. In addition to the office visits Dr. Freedman spent considerable time on the phone patiently going over test results and discussing next options. When we sadly lost M to a fragile heart condition, the office??s expression of sympathy was as for one of their own.

The post recently printed a libelous article about Riverside Animal Hospital at W 108th St, confusing it with a similarly named veterinary clinic in Wash Heights. Dr K and Dr Drayton at Riverside Animal Hospital have been sensitively and expertly caring for my senior kitty for over 5 years now. She has several chronic conditions and is thriving, in no small part due to their efforts. Highly recommended!

Again, this is in response to the article from NY Post and how they WRONGLY identified another vet as Riverside Animal Hospital!!!!
I have been going to Riverside Animal Hospital for the past 12 yrs since I got my first Shih Tzu puppy! Dr. K (Steven Kasanofsky) has always been gentle, understanding and honest with me about treatments for my dogs, especially when Lilu was diagnosed with kidney disease. I truly believe she wouldn't be happy, healthy and alive today if it weren't for his superior treatment of her. Needless to say, I also took my other two furbabies to see him as well. He is thorough, gentle, honest and that's all that matters when your furbaby is not well.
Don't believe everything you read- THE NEW YORK POST WAS WRONG!!!!!! Riverside Animal Hospital & Dr.K is wonderful!

I've had a positive relationship with Riverside with my pets and I am happy that the recent misunderstanding in identify has been resolved and the correct party identified.

Recently an article appeared in The New York Post where the writers of the article failed to check their facts, and in doing so, mistakenly assaulted the reputation of Riverside Animal HOSPITAL for something horrendous that unaffiliated Riverside Animal CLINIC was responsible for...a horrible example of slandering the reputation of an outstanding animal care facility!
We have been bringing our littermate dachshunds to Riverside Animal HOSPITAL since they were 4 years old...they turn 16 in October. We give great credit for our dogs good health and longevity to the thoughtful and competent care of Dr. Kasanofsky and his staff. Over the years we have recommended Riverside Animal HOSPITAL to many of our dog friends...Those who have followed our recommendation have told us that from here on, they would not take their dogs (or cats) to any other vet. Riverside Animal HOSPITAL has developed a well deserved reputation for excellence over it's 20 year existance.
It is the moral responsibility of The New York Post to write a follow up article about the great work that they do, to counter the damage they have inflicted upon their reputation...an article that should be as large in SIZE as the article that mistakenly slandered them...it's the RIGHT thing to do!

I brought my sweet rescue pitbull to practically every vet on the upper west side for a year and a half before I found the only people who could help her - Dr. K and his team and Riverside Animal Hospital. They helped diagnose very severe food and environmental allergies that almost took her life, and they helped to get her on the road to recovery. I've since moved to Brooklyn, but for a time I brought my dog back to the UWS in a cab just so she could be treated by these excellent doctors. We now see an allergy specialist in Brooklyn (Dr. Panich at Veterinary Emergency Referral Group, who is amazing), but I will always be grateful to and recommend the wonderful doctors and staff at Riverside Animal Hospital.

Dr. K, at Riverside Animal Hospital, has been my vet for more than twenty years, and he's the best!

He--and the other vets and many fine technicians and caregivers--has saved my frail neurologically impaired, diabetic cat Florence on too many occasions to count.

Riverside Animal Hospital gets my highest recommendation! They will always go the extra mile (and sometimes, many miles) to help your pet, and show kindness and compassion towards pet _owners_, as well.

I moved to NYC almost 4 years ago and have been trusting them with my beloved Bubba's health ever since! Bubba can be quite difficult because he hates going to the vet but they are SO patient and caring with him. I trust them implicitly and reccommend them to everyone I know!!

I took my dog to Riverside after hearing a few complaints about expense, long waits, etc...because I have had several unsatisfactory experiences in at other upper west side vets. All of the things I heard were unfounded-my visit was amazing. The reception staff was friendly, smart and competent, the nurse who took us into the room was a real animal lover, and well versed in animal medicine. We were seen right on time, and the doctor was the best I ever saw. Not only was she great in the room, but she called me the next day to discuss results and spent time answering my questions (again!). I received a call asking how my dog was doing post treatment, and a very non-compulsory offer was made for help if we needed it. I wish I could find a human doctor like this!
