Ferlo's is a real gem on Capital Bvd. I've been there for lunch several times and the quality of their food and service amazes me. Their sandwiches (which they sell by the pound) are made out of very tasty imported meats and cheeses, fresh vegetables, and homemade breads. their soups and salads are world class as well. Highly recommended.

Ferlo's sandwich was divine. The meat was cooked to perfection, their sauce which smothered the cutlet was wonderful, and the cheese was fresh and elastic. Their homemade bread was just the right combination of crunchy outside and soft and tender middle. This place is fantastic.

I too stumbled onto this little gem a few weeks ago! Being from New York, I have had a difficult time in finding "authentic" Italian food. Oh sure - restaurants are easy, but these creations I can take home! And their desserts! OMG - CANNOLI!!!

These people have really put their heart and soul - and alot of their family history - into Alimentari. The atmosphere and the products take you right to Tuscany. And the food just sends you to heaven!

If you ever need a change from burgers and fries - and who doesn't - get over to Alimentari for whatever your heart and Frank can dream up!

I remember summers in Brooklyn, while visiting my great-grandparents, walking into the delicatessens and being amazed at everything they had. Well, Ferlo's brings taste of this to Raleigh...they have everything and anything you could want - and if they don't, they'll do their best to special order it for you! Made-to-order sandwiches, pastas, salads, sauces, imported and domestic meats and cheeses, fresh store-made sausage, breads, desserts...the list goes on and on...they also have retail items and prepared meals so you can continue the experience at home. And if all of that wasn't enough, they also cater! It's a one-stop food extravaganza! Ferlo's is set up like a traditional deli - limited seating, more of a grab-and-go place. The only thing missing are the meats and such hanging from the ceiling. And it definitely feels like NY when you start talking to Frank and Amy (the brother-sister team that runs the shop) - the NY accents are hard to miss! Everything I've ever ordered has not failed to impress me (both in quantity and quality). Definitely worth a visit if you're up their way - a little challenging to find though - they're in the Plantation Square Shopping Center at Old Wake Forest Rd and Capital Blvd (near Triangle Town Center)..you just have to look for the "DELI" sign next to Panopolie.
