Frederick Cat Vet

Wow! I was totally impressed with Frederick Cat Vet. I drive past the place on my way to work everyday, and always wondered how they compared to others. As I looked for a new vet, FCV grabbed my interest because they specialize in cats, so of course I assumed that they would be more expensive... but they were not! They were actually MUCH cheaper than our previous vet.

Dr. Karg and his staff were fantastic! He is VERY knowledgeable and thorough. I didn't feel rushed one bit. He took all the time he needed, he listened to everything I told him, and he asked all the right questions in order to help solve our cat's behavioral issue. As soon as I got home, I followed Dr. K's recommendations and by that night, our issue was solved. He took the time and determined what the problem was after only one visit, which other vets could not! He also shared some neat tips and fun ideas on how to improve on our cats overall health and well-being. I definitely feel that I got more than my money's worth.

I would highly recommend Frederick Cat Vet to anyone!

We took our cat, Neko, for an initial examination and were very impressed with the facility, staff, and most impressed with Dr. Karg.

Neko is wary of vets since she has a couple of chronic problems (floating kneecaps and HCM) and did not trust our former vet. Because of her special needs, we wanted to try a vet who specializes in cats.

Dr. Karg handled her gently, and although she was still wary, we think he will win her over the next time she is in. He reviewed her chart, asked questions, and took his time to get to know her and us. We feel very confident in his expertise and care. We highly recommend him.

Dr. Mike and staff are the best! Most amazing was the reaction of my cat "Penny"! She was handled so gently she was just amazed ! I was amazed! It was something to witness! She was calm and the experience was very positive!

I'm so glad that I found the right veterinarian for my beloved cat and is Dr. Mike Karg.After some frustrated visits with other vets in Montgomery County, MD I was desperate because they told me the only option that my cat had to get better was a surgery of $2,000.00 and she needed right away like next week. Since I can't afford it and my cat was denied to receive a pet insurance due her "pre-existence disease". I was so sad and praying for some miracle to happen....When I was searching online for my last vet visit that I was willing to pay to get a 3rd opinion about her disease because I could not believe that surgery is the only option available! It can't be inside my heart and mind. So I found a cat vet in Frederick and I decided to e-mail first and explain her illness to see if he had a different opinion and was willing to take her case since all vets said her disease is so rare. Dr. Mike Karg reply and said that he can treat her with medicine. I was so relief and happy because now she has a chance to live and to get better finally! So my first visit was perfect! The receptionist was so friendly and kind. Dr. Mike and his assistant made my cat fell so comfortable, calm and relaxed that I've never seen her like this before in other vet clinics.Dr. Mike Karg is so professional, he listen to you, ask many questions, his knowledge is impressive, he does not push other services that you don't need, he does not make you spend money like other places does always pushing vaccines, vitamins, brushes, etc. I felt that I was in the right place in the right time and I will never go to other veterinarian.He gave my cat hope to get healthy and I'm so happy to be part of Frederick Cat Vet as a customer. Even if you live far away but I guarantee that will worth the time, gasoline and your money. Takes me 45min to get there but I'm completely satisfied this place is so clean, neat, peaceful, all staff are wonderful, you will fell the difference, they love what they do and that makes the difference!For the finishing touch you will receive a welcome kit with a lot of information specially if you are a first time cat parent like I am. Also you will receive your examination report by e-mail with a picture of your cat! I loved it so organized!I want tell everyone how satisfied and so happy to finally find a excellent vet for my Melanie!Thank you so much for giving us hope and peace again!Melanie & Fernanda

Dr. Karg and his staff are awesome. They are knowledgable, friendly, and the price is right. Dr. Karg is honest and will never try to 'sell' you something you don't need. There is no pressure here. They are awesome with cats. They were able to make my very frightened cat content enough to purr while in the exam room. I will never take my cats anywhere else. They genuinely care and take the time to answer any questions you have...you never feel rushed or like 'just another customer.' You become part of the 'family' when you bring your animals here. I would recommend this office to anyone who cares about their cat and does not want to be ripped off!

Dr. Karg and his staff are so knowledgeable and truly care for the entire family. He always has very helpful advice for everything from medical to behavioral issues, and you can tell he actually enjoys meeting the cats and seeing their personalities! It makes the whole experience so much more pleasant to know our kitties are welcomed there. Dr. Karg is so thorough too, nothing gets overlooked. He explains everything so well, and really does take his time with each client. They sell only the best foods and goods too -- and those can be very difficult to find at retail pet stores. We HIGHLY RECOMMEND Frederick Cat Vet!!!!

There's a reason Dr. Karg established "Frederick CAT Vet". He is focused completely on your cats. He is capable, professional, and I trust him completely with my most cherished family members. When you visit him you never feel at all rushed....he will discuss your cat's health and well-being....really taking the holistic approach. He is genuine and compassionate. Every time you see him it's clear that he loves what he does...and how great is THAT for your cat? I completely recommend Dr. Karg and his Frederick Cat Vet without hesitation.

I can't say enough about Dr. Karg and the staff at the Frederick Cat Vet. They are progressive, knowledgeable, and very caring. Dr. Karg has handled everything I have brought in with compassion and professionalism - from my elderly, frail kitty to very hard to handle ferals. He is a skilled surgeon and fixed a serious leg lesion on one of my rescues that I believe was caused by another vet. And they have everything you need right there - the best human grade ingredient cat food, all natural litter, toys, and lots of really useful tips. They know cats! Who else would think of pedestals in the waiting room to put your carrier on so your cat feels more secure? I recommend them to everyone and wouldn't go anywhere else.
