Steinway Animal Hospital has the best staff, always friendly and they know how to handle both emergency situations and general checkups. They keep wonderful records and when I lost my cat they followed up with cards and letters which meant alot to me. Now with my new kitten they've already assessed her needs to keep her healthy and groomed too! Let's not forget dental care! My cat Delphi was very ill. I took her to Steinway Animal Hospital, formally Astoria Animal Hospital. The practice was sold to Dr. Tadros in April 2007. I was very worried about my cat and concerned because I did not know this vet.

Dr. Tadros was so professional, kind and gentle with Delphi. He was patient with me and my husband; he took time to explain everything to us,and was unrushed, even though others were waitng to see him. I was allowed time to spend with my cat each day after surgery and Dr. Tadros, his staff and I (yes, I was allowed to stay in the office with my cat after office hours) stayed late into the night the day my delphi had major surgery.

The Dr. was extremely honest about the possibility that the cat would not recover from this type of surgery due to her age (14ys) and the extent of her cancer, but she is alive and well and is know in the kitchen eating her food. The cost of the surgery and care was explained to me prior to the procedure and what I payed was what I was quoted; it was a fair price. I do not feel I was overcharged for anything.
