Dennstedt's Auto Repair

I first used Dennstedt's when I needed a wizard to keep an old Mercedes running. He explained the options, which repairs were critical and which of the others were the best bang for the buck. We nursed that baby along for 7 or 8 years, and I sold it for more than I paid for it. Since then, I've relied on Larry Dennstedt for service and repair on the next half-dozen family cars, from pre-purchase inspections to regular maintenance to repairs to troubleshooting to whatever else comes up. Although this shop's work is generally less expensive than a dealer, price is not the main asset--they've never tried to be the cheapest shop. Dennstedt's is a skilled and conscientious shop, where they'll diagnose your problem and explain their work. They don't pretend to do everything, and if they can't do something (freaky BMW tool or Nissan-only fluid) they'll refer you to a good alternative. As should be obvious, I have enormous respect for the integrity of this shop owner (and head mechanic), and trust my family's vehicles to him whenever that is necessary.

I have been around cars my entire life. My dad built and raced stock cars back in the day. I usually do all my own auto repairs. I was intoduced to Dennstedt's shop via Goodwin Racing. Brian who owns Goodwin racing highly reccomended this shop as I purchased many high performance parts from Brian.

Well I will tell you that hands down this is the best and most honest auto repair shop in Southern CA. I have become freinds with the owner larry and my buddy Rocky who is the BEST and most honest mechanic I have ever met!!!

At the recommendation of the Miata forum, I took my car to Dennstedt's with what I thought was a wheel bearing issue. After a thorough check of my car, they determined that there was no issue. Not only that, but they took the time to inspect the vehicle for any other issues, of which they found none. I typically do my own work on my car to avoid shady shops, but after dealing with Dennstedt's, I wouldn't hesitate to take my car back to them for jobs I don't want to tackle on my own. Highly recommended!

Rocky and Larry take the time to explain repairs and keep parts to show you why repair was needed. Fair prices and good quality work. Have had problems with aftermarket parts installed (water pump, timing belt). May want to specify OEM at this and and any other shop you visit.Open weekdays 8am to 5pm.

Appointments recommended and will put you ahead of walk in/ tow in.
