I just think this place is way overrated. We had dinner reservations and we still waited for about an 1hr for our table. The prices were expensive for the amount of food we received, and after spending $300.00 on the bill, they were giving us the run around when we tried to get into club. It was horrible i will never go there again.

Pros: Nothing

Cons: Everything

One of my girlfriends and I decided to go to TAO last Saturday night, since neither of us had been. We had so much fun! I had called ahead to get on the guest list (full knowing that nightclub lines can be horrendous!). We had no problems getting in. Upstairs the place was incredible! The decor alone was breathtaking and the music ROCKED! We danced all night long and stayed until almost close. It was a little packed in there.. but no worse than any other Vegas club I have been too. I would totally recommend TAO to anyone who wants to have an awesome time!

Pros: Music, atmosphere, dancing, drinks

Cons: Crowds

Me and a group of my friends got table service a few weeks ago at Tao and it was one of the best experiances ever. We got direct acess in the club, our own pirvate waitress, and a great table in the opium room. The over all night was one too remember. Can't wait too go back....

Ratings_icons Best Birthday Experience!

MissLuckyLady

I recently was in Vegas for my 24th birthday and we had not yet decided where to celebrate the occasion. We kept seeing the many billboards for Tao all around the strip area ("always a happy ending" was the slogan, love it!) so we headed to the place towards the evening to find out. Nightclub wasn't open yet so we put our names down for the restaurant then we'd head upstairs after. We waited for about 10 minutes or so but it was well worth it. The food has such amazing flavor (first time I had shabu shabu, they brought it out on a stone with a hot kettle of broth heated over it to cook the meat in, soooo good!) and the sushi, being a favorite of mine, was very fresh. The staff was friendly too, they even put a candle in our dessert with fortunes for everyone, super cute! To make this birthday even better, we found out that we qualified for line passes since we dined in the restaurant... one word, awesome!!! So we headed upstairs, paid our entry, and got in. This club had to be one of the most creative places I've been in, lots of eye candy (girls wearing almost nothing sitting in rose petal filled tubs was just one of the surprises), beautiful decor (totally all for the red chandeliers), even the bathrooms were gorgeous, you really felt like you were in a high class club. So we stepped up to the bar, ordered a few cocktails (Taotini is amazing), and went the dance floor. Yeah, it was a bit crowded but it was easily overlooked because of all the fun were having. My advice: make reservations, it helps!... You're gonna have to wait in some lines, it happens, it's Vegas... And if you want to celebrate a special occasion, let them know! They make you feel that much more special. This had to have been my best birthday ever and I can only look forward to next year. ROCK ON TAO!

Pros: Ambience, Service, Food & Beverage, Music

Cons: Lines

Ratings_icons Awesome Night Out

brightonn

I've heard a lot of great reviews of Tao from friends of mine so I finally decided to check it out. I had such a wonderful time- the people were awesome, the drinks and music were perfect and I can not wait until my next visit! The Nightclub was so nice and I loved that there are different rooms to enjoy different music. The drinks were pretty average as far as price goes- but the service was great! I definately recommend checking it out!

Ratings_icons Best Industry night in Vegas

ilove2party

I'm a Vegas native and I hardly go out, but when I do, I go to Tao on Thursdays. Locals get in free, they just make sure that there's one girl with every guy. They've got the best events and contests, they don't charge us even though they have celebrities hosting. The only thing is that it can get pretty packed, so we always go there early and we use the casino restroom instead of the one in the club. I'll be getting bottle service on my birthday so we'll have a place to sit.

Ratings_icons Pretensious squared.

Firstly, Tao labeling itself as a "bistro" is like the Hell's Angels calling themselves a "motorcycle club". Get a dictionary, guys.

I'm not a club person, so I won't comment on Tao's merits as such. Viewed purely as a restaurant, this place is a breathed-on PF Changs. Wait staff is inattentive, and our large party was crammed around a large circular folding table (guess who got to spend the evening kneeing a metal table leg?) Don't plan on an evening of conversation, as the pounding and incessent techno groove rules that out.

WOW! I cannot even begin to describe how breathtaking TAO is! I have lived in Vegas for a year and finally made it to TAO last Saturday. My girls and I had a blast! We had no trouble getting in (we had called in advance to be placed on the guestlist).

The decor is incredible and the DJs play a very ecclectic blend of music that keeps the party going all night! And how can one forget the gorgeous girls in pasties and tiny thongs bathing each other throughout the night?! Brilliant!

The only downfall to the night was the wait at the bar to get a drink... but that is typical with any prominant nightclub in Las Vegas.

I TOTALLY recommend TAO to anyone who wants to experience a Vegas club at it's best!

I was planning my b-day and heared good things about Tao. I arrange a table service for me and friends there. We went there and they right away seat us at our location. It wasn't the best sitting but we didn't care. The waitress was very attentive of us. They treated us like celebraty's. I had so much fun and when out of nowhere they came out with a cake and fire craker things. I was surprised. My friend went all out. I just have one thing to say. Tao is amazing and I can't wait for my birthday again. Just to let you know also. I have been there withought table service and ofcource our heels are going to hurt but I had fun. From all the clubs I've been to. TAO is the best. Crouded like the other clubs but great surroundings. Amazing =)

Pros: Music and the archatech amazing Love it!

Cons: Drunk people bumping into me!

My friend and I went to Tao last week for her birthday, and I felt so terrible because she ended up crying at the end of the night. We are very familiar with going to clubs, and know that a table reservation is a smart move, however it's not exactly reasonable to do so when it's just two girls. We stood in line for nearly an hour as other groups were pulled inside before us, none of whom had reservations. The doormen are terribly rude, just shoving people to the side. I'm not sure if we just didn't have a good enough "look" for the doormen, but this was disheartening from the start. We finally were in the door, paid and inside, only to be dropped in front of a mob of people attempting to get a drink. Twenty minutes later we finally have drinks (which, to our disappointment, practically have zero alcohol content), only to have my friend's knocked out of her hand as we tried to push our way to the dance floor. The place was so crowded it was impossible to move about without getting elbowed in the face, pushed, shoved, have our feet stepped all over, and drinks spilled on us. The music was too loud and empty sounding (not to mention just bad), and there was no flow. The security guards inside kept shining their flashlights at people, telling them to "keep moving" even though there was no place to go. The women's bathrooms are upstairs on a balcony where men on the floor downstairs are able to stare up girls' skirts while they are waiting in line, and the area is so cramped you have girls snapping at each other because they think you pushed into them on purpose. It was just an all around miserable experience, and my friend broke down crying on our way home because she had such a horrible time. I don't think I'll be recommending this place to anyone.

Pros: Good location.

Cons: Light drinks, terrible layout, hustling door staff, too crowded, bad music.

Ratings_icons BAD customer service!!

kaya2007

I will NEVER go back here again nor will I ever suggest this place to a friend or family member. A month ahead of time, I made some reservations for a party of 10 (my bachelorette party), I did what they asked and faxed my credit card info and agreed to pay a penalty if I cancelled without notice or had less then 10 show up the day of.

Day of the reso's..they made my party wait then GAVE AWAY our table claiming that the first of our party that checked in changed our reservations to 5. All 10 of us were all ONTIME and early at that! We asked to speak to the "manager" which was useless, even after explaining our situation. The front of the house cannot multi-task and they are extremely RUDE. Totally unprofessional and horrific customer service. Thank god we didn't spend our hard earned dollars there. I will never go back to Tao. We went across to Stack, they we gracious enough to accomdate us at the peak of dinner with little wait. Food/Drink GREAT at STACK. DONT BOTHER WITH TAO!

Pros: Pretty place

Cons: Bad customer service

Tao Nightclub is a wonderful experience. Although the bathroom lines were a bit long, and the dancefloor was a bit crowded, we truly enjoyed ourselves. The decor and the ambience is absolutely breathtaking. It's hands down one of the best clubs in vegas.

Tao Nightclub is one of the best clubs I've been to in Vegas. The decor is absolutely amazing and it's not too big. It does tend to get a bit crowded but no more than expected for a Las Vegas Nightclub. We will definately be back. Thanks for the memorable experience.

Ratings_icons Dark and Dingy not worth it.

I was there this past weekend with 3 other girls. We got complimentary passes from promoters on the street. That should have been our first clue not to go here. If a promoter is pushing you to go, you know that its not a good place. Thankfully, we didnt have to wait outside in a line. we got rushed to the front of the club, we arrived around 1:30. Not many people were there, not good music, the place was so dark it was like walking through a maze. We couldnt find the exit. We aimlessly walked around bc we couldnt find a place to stay. Go to TAO in NYC. Its so much better....

Ratings_icons As a first time experience...

missnatalie

I liked TAO. Most of the reviews on here scored the club low. I was told by a friend that when you go on a website to purchase "front of the line passes" - roughly around $40... **Print the online confirmation - this is literally your pass**its hassle-free. So we did and it definitely worked. I scored TAO a 3 only because at first, when we arrived, I let the security know about the online passes and they had no clue... I didn't print out the paper but we were told that all we had to do was give them our name. After 15 minutes, we FINALLY talked to the 5th security guard and he helped us out. TAO is definitely crowded and really hard to dance in. My recommendation is to definitely get bottle service, or score with a group of guys or for men- a group of girls to let you in their seating area, otherwise its a little irritating to wiggle in- especially if you have a drink in your hand. Awesome ambience and theme is super cool. Definitely a place to see professional athletes, celebrities, etc. You also will see a lot ofupcoming atheletes, too. If you just want a club to dance in and mingle, purchase the front of line passes and make the best of it, special occasions or a group somewhere between 4-10- bite the bullet and get a table.

Pros: atmosphere, people

Cons: no wiggle room, you almost HAVE to get a table

Ratings_icons Best Club in Vegas!

vegas07

TAO is not only an unbeleivable restaurant, but it is also one of the best nightlcubs in Las Vegas. The club is very large and the decor is an Asian/Buddha theme. On any given weekend, you might even see some Celebs...because this is one of the paces that they visit while in Vegas. They recently opened up TAO Beach, which I have not had the pleasure of going to. I have heard that the pool and cabanas are AMAZINGLY gorgeous. If you are coming to Vegas and are wanting to party it up, you have to come to TAO.

Pros: Crowd, Great club experience

Cons: Drinks can be pricey

Ratings_icons Too crowded.

babyboozles

While it was a fancy, HUGE, and highly decorated place, a lot of the reviews I am reading seem pretty accurate. I picked up a pass from one of the promotors on the street and called the club to get on the guestlist for no line (call betweem 3-5 if you decide to go) which was impressive for Labor Day. The staff was friendly and professional, but we got herded like cattle up the stairs. While I got there early (10:30) it got EXTREMELY packed later (by 12). Dont even think about ordering a drink, using the restroom or dancing in the mainroom. You cannot sit anywhere: all seating is reserved and if you try sitting on a ledge or a planter you will be hasseled immidiately (ouchie for my feet in heels.) When I decided to leave, two different security guards told me the wrong way to get out. It was an interesting experience, but I have a feeling even for the people paying for bottle service would not be nearly as glamorous as you might think.

Pros: Decorating, location, trendy, friendly staff

Cons: Crowded, Drink prices (12 bucks,) lack of seating

Ratings_icons Honestly, I cant even rate this club! How does ZERO stars sound?

ashleywmc

Please heed this advice given and avoid TAO nightclub at all costs. Never in my life have I been crammed into a club like this! Absolutely no where to sit- and for us girls in heels, this doesnt work! Thanks TAO. Trying to have a conversation with friends is near impossible. The staff thought as though they were extremely important- and came off incredibly rude, when I'm pretty sure we paid to get into this PIECE of a club! Dont even attempt to use the restroom... as they only let 2 people in at a time, so hold it! Oh and to top it all off, when trying to leave, 3 different doorman told us 3 different wrong ways to leave the club! Hopefully there will never be a fire there, because even the staff cant find the exit.

Wow, I see I wasn't the only one who hated it! We went in July and while shopping in the Venetian earlier in the day, we asked the hostess in the restaurant about the club. She told us it was $10 per person for the evening, ladies free. We grabbed a business card and called before going, and we were told the same thing. We get there, the line was ridiculously long, but moving fast cuz we got there early enough (always recommended in Vegas). They were being picky about what the guys were wearing, but we were all dressed appropriately. We get to the door and we are told $20 per person! We explained our actions earlier, but the woman at the door and and security didn't blink and insisted it was $20. We paid, get in and head to the bar. Every drink was $12, including beer and all shots! I have been to Light in the Bellagio several times and didn't even pay that much for beers and shots! Add to it the place was overcrowded. You couldn't even stop to have conversation or sit down anywhere. Screw the "beautiful" people! You couldn't see your own damn feet, let alone what was before you because it was so dark. Dancing? Forget it! It was wall to wall people, and everywhere you walked you had to squeeze, push, and press past people. Yeah, $12 drinks were getting spilled all over the place due to bumping and pushing. We got super dressed up for nothing! The club is huge and lovely to look at, WHEN EMPTY. And the restaurant, I would never eat there! With the huge volume of people trampling through the restaurant to get to the club upstairs, the ambience of the restaurant is completely ruined. And security was awful! They had huge flashlights that they were waving, shuttling the crowd like cattle, yelling at people to "keep it moving". C'mon, is that "classy"? The whole experience was disappointing! I will never go there again and will not recommend it to people who are going on a future trip to Vegas.

Ratings_icons A piece of Vegas best left skipped: Tao at the Venetian.

dvsx77

The food was 50/50... it seemed like the worst kitchen possible handled the appetizers and sushi while a slightly decent chef handled the main dishes. The place was grossly overpriced so you're really just paying for the atmosphere. My fiancee and I were extremely let down and the place did not live up to the hype. Our hostess said that our dinner ($185 mind you) guaranteed entrance to the nightclub after but of course incompetent doormen & nightclub managers had no idea what we were guaranteed an hour before. Save your money and go somewhere else. Our group of friends who made it in the club were split up since women were the only ones allowed upstairs. My fiancee and myself, on the otherhand, refused paying to go in since dinner was terrible and their word meant close to nothing. Honestly, if you want good asian food then go to an Asian restaurant, not an asian-themed restaurant. If you want a better Vegas experience take your spouse to Bobby Flay's Mesa Grill for dinner @ Caesars and the Mix @ Mandalay (the Hotel) for after dinner lounging and drinks, where at both places you'll be deeply satisfied.

Pros: Atmosphere

Cons: Appetizers, Sushi, Nightclub/Lounge, Price

Too bad there isn't a "1/4 star" option as a rating choice. To be honest, i never made it inside the place. After reading the reviews posted hear, i'm kind of glad we didn't get in. The red velvet rope captain told us we couldn't go in unless we had a couple ladies or we were on the guest list. The 1/4 star would be for the fact the he was polite when he asked us to step out of line. He unlatched the rope and everything...what a gentleman. Heads up guys, if you're trying to get in, a) be on the "guest list." Don't ask how and don't expect it to pull any wait according to girl standing in line behind us. b) have at least 2 hot chics per guy (actually, if you have two hot chics per guy, i recommend partying in your room. c) don't waste your time. What's with the buddha? Ghengis Chan would be more appropriate. I'm used to LA house clubs were you can be yourself, no guest list, no attitude, good music, good times. If you want to have fun in vegas, i recommend the lounges. usually free and the drinks are just as expensive as the clubs to give you that pretentius feel. Cheers

I went here for New Years and this place was Money! Very classy. I like the asian culture they have going on. There's so many bars to. I think I counted like 10. So if your looking for that classy but quick service this is the place.

Pros: 3 Floors and over 10 bars.

Cons: Not enough bathrooms

Ratings_icons Dinner was fine, but the club is TERRIBLE!

ccm77

I'm a New Yorker who does the "in" restaurant and club scene in Manhattan on a regular basis, so I'm used to coping with the drama that tends to be involved with see and be seen places. However, there's usually a pay-off with so-called exclusive venues -- if you're subjected to that kind of drama, there should be a hot crowd inside and enough space to enjoy the club. Not the case with Tao!

My girlfriends and I ate dinner in the restaurant on a recent Saturday night. I have no complaints about the restaurant -- the food was fine and the service was good. After dinner, however, things went downhill. We were shepherded back outside to stand in line for the club, despite the fact that we had just spent $500 on dinner. Although we were placed in a shorter line by virtue of having eaten in the restaurant, we still had to wait over half an hour to get back inside. When we finally got into the club, it was so crowded that it was impossible to get a drink or dance. Not only that, but after all of the drama at the door, I would have at least expected a pretty crowd inside -- not the case! I was really surprised that Tao would hold itself out to be such a hot, exclusive place, and yet pack itself to overcapacity with an overwhelming unattractive, uncool crowd. Get over yourself, Tao!

We went there for dinner, but we didn't make it to the club. The decor was definitely cool, but that was the only part that impressed me. The food (including the sushi) was good, but nothing incredible considering the price. My cocktail was tasty, but my guest's beer was flat. And this may sound strange, but the service was almost too much. The plates were gone the second after the last bite of food was off the plate. In one instance, the sauce was gone before we had the chance to dip the appetizer. The restaurant wasn't that crowded, but the staff made us feel rushed. I regularly enjoy going to trendy, gourmet restaurants, but this isn't one that I would recommend.

Pros: Ambience

Cons: Overbearing staff, Overpriced

TAO is definitely the place to be in Vegas. The decor definitely sets TAO apart from all other clubs. They also do a great job of keeping an even ratio of women to men. This is first club that seemed to have more women than men. I would definitely suggest going through a VIP service to get in unless you want to wait for hours to get in.

Pros: Gender Ratio

Cons: LONG LINES

Tao is such an amazing sushi restaurant! I love the decor and the enviornment! Sushi is my favorite food and it's hard to find a restaurant with good food and a good enviornment. Vegas restaurants can sometimes be too cheesy, but Tao is sleek and modern. The deserts are to die for and I always have a good time here. I recommended going to Tao if you are ever in Vegas.

My friends and I had a leisurely dinner at Tao and it was fabulous. The atmosphere is gorgeous and exotic, with lots of red, candles, dark wood, and that giant Buddha - the decor alone is worth going for. Our waiter was friendly and attentive, and the food was delicious: my favorites were the sweet potato tempura, spicy salmon roll, and King Crab roll. We also had sweet cocktails with a great mix of fresh juices and fruit alcohol, and for dessert I had a cup of Chai Tea, which was actually a bowl of frothy cinnamony-sweet milk. Dinner was expensive, but totally worth it. I would definitely recommend Tao, and I can't wait to go back to check out its nightclub!

Pros: atmosphere, service, food, location

Cons: price

Ratings_icons Good place for dinner...and dancing

margie2265

We had dinner here a couple of weeks back with a party of about 10 people. The restaurant is really beautifully done: large buddha statue, plenty of comfortable couches spread out, nice ambience lighting..
We ate here partially because we wanted to go to the club afterwards, and were pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food. Our waiter was very attentive and helpful, showing us all how to wrap our duck moo-shoo (which was delicious, by the way). We ordered several other appetizers for the table, everything was delicious. I had the seabass, which was perfectly cooked. After dinner, we wanted to go dancing. There was no wait for us, but we decided to stay in the lounge area downstairs because the music playing was better than what they ahd upstairs. For the club, they decorated the stone bathtubs lining the entrance with flowers and girls (sitting inside of them) wearing pasties. The lounge got pretty packed with people, but since we'd sat down at a booth, we had no problems finding seats. In all, the night was really fun for everyone; good food, good service and good music to dance to. We'll definitely be back.

Pros: good food, helpful service, great decor

I went to Tao on Dec 30th, the day before new year's eve. I got there around 10:30 without reservation. So I waited in the "general admissions" line. If you want to get in without waiting, either get on the guest list, or book a table inside. I waited 30 minutes to get in with a 40 dollar cover charge for women and men. Once inside, the club atomsphere is definitely great. A lot of beautiful men and women. However, unless you have a reserved table, no place to sit down. Extremely crowded. The dancers were great around the club they touch each other. Getting a drink was pretty easy at the bar in the way back in the main room by the balcony window. The DJ was definitely the highlight, I really really really liked the music. Great Mix. I would only go there once, unless I spend a lot of money trying to get a table. But if you want to see what it is like to be hip and cool.. definitely a must SEE.

Pros: pretty and very very fancy. Great staff...

Cons: too expensive.

Ratings_icons Go For The Club, Not The Food

The Bigger and Badder sister of the famous NY restaurant, Tao has become one of the hottest places to spend weekend nights to indulge in some of the city's finest nightlife. With that said, be weary of the overly expensive food and bottle service. While the club and the restaurant are separated from each other, there is clearly a lesser of two evils in that the club is far more appealing. The food at the restaurant is gorgeous and well presented but lacks a lot of flavor while charging an arm and a leg. Whoever designed the place deserves an A for its outstanding decor, capitalizing on the Asian theme throughout the entire place. Beware of the immense lines that pile up for the club any night of the week (esp. Thursday - Sunday), but make sure that you are associated with a list of some sort or it could be hours before you see the dance floor. Inside the club has beautiful women who are in their birthday suit covered by rose petals to invigorate the crowd while tastefully flirting in the artsiest way possible. The music is good and the dance floor is well done however, its insanely crowded. Often times one has to wonder if the limit of people have been exceeded to make this place a hazard should anything happen.

Pros: Music, Club, Ambiance

Cons: Prices, Food, Service

Ratings_icons Easy to get in the club

A group of 15 us had dinner at Valetino that evening and we walked over to Tao nightclub around 11:00pm. On a Saturday night the line was around the corner and out the door. Having no desire to stand in line nor did we have those silly "VIP" passes, we split up and the first half went to the most authoritive looking doorman wearing a suit and told him that one of the girls in the group was Robert Dinero's niece and who can we talk to get in...$100 and 5 minutes later, in they go. The second group of us, all guys, wait for about 10 minutes, then we walk up to the same doorman and I told him that one of the guys in our group was Kevin Smith and who can I talk to to get us right in. $100 and 3 minutes later in we go. So I guess although the bouncers and doormen are/look mean, they're not the sharpest tools in the shed. Once inside, the place was already busy and loud. The decor was nice and the bartenders were pretty fast in getting our drinks. Walking around there were a few "girl dancing" stations that was interesting to watch but the bouncers kept the flow of traffic moving so there wasn't alot of static standing. We left around 2:00am which took about 30 minutes to "walk/push" from upstairs to the door. The bottom floor was so packed I kept thinking where was the fire marshall? Could be a very dangerous situation if there was a need to get everyone out immediately. Overall Tao is an ok place, its one of those places to try once and say you did it. I think Studio 54 is still the best place on the strip to get your groove on and still have elbow room. If you go to Tao, let them know that Bobby's niece and Kevin said hi.

Pros: Bouncers aren't too bright

Cons: Fire death trap, too many people

Ratings_icons Trendiest sushi in Vegas!

lvp

I've been to a lot of sushi places in Vegas that tries to be trendy and inventive but Tao is still the best. The wait for a table can take a while, even if you have a reservation, but you can pass the time at the lounge area (which has awesome cocktails by the way). Other than the wait, I could not find anything to complain about. Definitely worth a visit!

Pros: Great sushi, great ambience

Cons: Long waits

I can't comment on the nightclub but the restaurant was on its game this past weekend. I tend to grade restaurants based on the knowledge of the waitstaff, quality of the food & service and overall ambiance. Our waiter knew the menu well and could not only describe the options but the subtle nueances of each dish. His recommendations for options were based on our tastes and not price which can be the case in many situations. The sushi was very fresh and an acceptable grade with good coloring. The lobster dumplings were perfect and set the tone for the meal. As for overall ambiance, while there were a number of large parties in the restaurant, it remained an environment where you could hold a conversation without screaming at one another. And finally, we arrived ten minutes early for our reservations and we were promptly seated. They did not overbook and hope the tables would clear in time for us. Nothing irritates me more than to have a reservation and then have to wait for my table because the restaurant can't figure out its table turns.

Pros: Quality Japanese inspired cuisine

Cons: Not your average Denny's menu. You need to be a bit adventuresome.

Ratings_icons Good food, great restarant design, nightclub is okay

carlson_b

I have been to both the restaurant and nightclub at Tao and I know more about food than nightclubs so I'll focus there. The space and decor is great, it's a nice place for groups with enough background noise that you don't feel self-conscious but can still hear each other. The food was generally good - small plates were great and main dishes very good but I would suggest going elsewhere for sushi. The wine list wasn't bad and they had a nice special on 2002 Silver Oak for $110 - the main drawback was that not much on their menu was complemented by a good cabernet.

All in all, dinner was a pleasant experience and wasn't as expensive as I would have expected. Would definitely go back for very good food and a great , fun atmosphere.

Pros: Great atmosphere, some very good dishes, nice wine list

Cons: Sushi not very good, server was fairly cluless

If you want to make sure you have a good time TAO is the place as it is consistent with cool people, staff and good drinks and the bathtub thing is especially cool.

Pros: Always decent

Cons: Crowd

Ratings_icons Crowded and Overpriced

nicky7899

This place was nice and looked very cool. The bad thing was that it was way overpriced and way too crowded. You can't even dance because there is no room. It took about 30 min to order a drink at the bar that was way too expensive anyway. If you want to dance and spend less money go to a less trendy spot and save your money. It was a good experience but not worth it.

Pros: Good appeal

Cons: Crowded and overpriced

Ratings_icons Great DJ, fun people-watching and efficient bar staff

ocforever422

I went to Tao with a group of friends on the Friday night over Labor Day weekend. We got there around midnight and the line was INSANE. I guess no more insane than any other major nightclub on the last official weekend of summer but since I'm not the most patient gal, I was a little daunted. Thankfully some of the guys we were with knew a girl who was having dinner there that night and she charmed the bouncers into letting us into the club after having a few drinks in the downstairs lounge. We were a group of 4 guys and 2 girls. They made us all pay the cover but since I wasn't waiting in line I wasn't about to complain. The DJ was playing the best music, but the dance floor made dancing nearly impossible. It was just one large mass of people swaying and bumping hips, elbows. One thing I was totally impressed with was that no matter how packed the place got, the wait at nearly every bar (except for the one nearest the dance floor) was more than reasonable. Sometimes service was surprisingly quick. I would definitely check out this club if you're in town and have the time. Get there early and if you're a group of guys enlist a few females to join your group to help get you in quicker.

Pros: Good music, interesting decor and great people-watching. Oh yeah, and great bar staff!

Cons: Was EXTREMELY crowded.

Ratings_icons service good, food not so much

chefsanchez

Drinks were great, service was great. Our food took awhile and was not so good. I had a fish entree and it seemed not fresh at all. The appetizers were good, the dessert was creative and decent. But they entrees ruined the whole experience. I will not return to dine here.

Pros: service

Cons: value, food quality

I made reservations, and was seated promptly. The decor was very nice, unique. The red back wall with the large Budha statue was enjoyable to look at. We tried the wonton crip appetizer, I had the Tao chicken. The food was good, however, a bit overpriced. The prices are more for the atmosphere. If you are looking for a trendy, fun place to go, that food quality isn't quite up to its prices, then Tao is your place.

Pros: Fast seating with reservation, decor

Cons: a bit overpriced

Ratings_icons Not worth the price

laurafinny

The only reason we ate here was because we thought we would be able to get into the club afterwards, but the guys we went with still had to pay! The food was just okay for the price, and even though we had a reservation (at 11 pm!!!) we still had to wait like 30 minutes. Good thing it was vegas and were going to stay up late anyways and had had a few drinks!

Ratings_icons Too Crowded

enajo

It's easy for girls to get in. Also, the downstairs bar/lounge and restaurant areas are luxe and spacious. However, when you go upstairs to the dance floor, it's tiny and literally roped in. There's no room to move, let alone dance. The music is good, and this is supposedly one of the top clubs in Vegas, but I wouldn't recommend it for anything more than unique visuals in the club.

Pros: Unique ambience, supposedly one of the hottest clubs in Vegas

Cons: CROWDED, CROWDED, CROWDED!!!

Food was great, had the Kobe beef carpaccio on the recomendation of our waiter and it was delicious. The service was great. Our waiter, Nick, not only had some great recommendations, he was friendly and attentive the whole time, and he even remembered us when we came back later, and he had the VIP hostess stamp us so we could get into the club without waiting on line.

Pros: food, service

Cons: nothing (expensive, if you're one of those)

definitely go to Tao when you are in vegas. The decor is very cool. The DJ plays good music. Go on the early side if you are a guys. Girls will have no problem getting in. If you can't get in to the club, you can hang out in the restaurant part downstairs that get's crowded later in the night. Getting into vip here is tricky, but it really doesn't matter because the rest of the club is fun and has a good crowd. Check it out before it gets played out.

Pros: decor, music

Cons: none really, maybe a wait in line

Ratings_icons Just pause in the entrance...

ameliegirl1997

and you will get a good sense of the place. Just like so much of the upscale areas of Las Vegas, there is a lot of attention to over the top design and the minute you walk through the flower decked tunnel to the Giant Buddha surveying the room, you know you are in an unusal place. It is one of the few place able to transform from dining to dancing really well and very worth the stop.
