My husband and I had never boarded our dogs before because we are never away for more than a few days (we usually use a pet sitter). However, we had a week-long vacation planned out of the country and knew we could not afford a pet sitter for that length of time. We have only lived in Nashville for a few months, so we did not know a lot of people who we could ask for boarding recommendations. Thus, I searched and searched the internet and was very pleased to read the positive reviews from other PRA customers.
I was very nervous to take the dogs to be boarded, so my husband and I decided to drop by PRA to take a look around and ask questions before we made a reservation. We were very impressed with the accommodations and had all of our questions fully answered. Staff were friendly and the place was very clean. The dogs had a lot of room and I liked that they were allowed 2 trips outside per day plus 2 walks.
While we were on vacation, we received an email "from" our dogs with their pictures. They were both wagging their tails and looked like they were having fun. When we picked them up they were clean (we did not have them groomed, but they were just as clean as when they were dropped off) and happy.
We will definitely be using PRA again! I am very pleased with our experience.
Over the holidays, I was placed in the uncomfortable position of having to choose one of my four furry friends to take to see my extended family and leaving three of them behind here in Nashville. I was saddened and dismayed because they are part of my family, but my mother's home is very small and not equipped for my furry family members and they would be miserable there. As such, I needed to find a place for them to stay that would be comfortable with people that were kind-hearted and that could care for them the way I would in my absence. It was very important to me that the person in charge of my pet care would be able to watch over them diligently and make sure they were comfortable and happy at all times.
Luckily, I chose well. Pet Resorts is seated just outside of downtown Nashville, so it was very convenient for me to check them in on my way out of town. The rates were actually quite reasonable, especially for multiple dogs, and were not much greater than the ""friend discount"" I get when a friend of mine comes to take care of them at home. I was very pleased by this as they had a lot more room at Pet Resorts as well as time to frolic in their run.
I was very impressed by how friendly the staff was and how quickly my dogs took to them. I was not intimidated by the thought of leaving my dogs there and I was even more at ease when I checked in over the holiday weekend to find out that one of the managers had taken the extra step of providing them a blanket and toys because we'd forgotten them.
When our dogs came home, they were smiling (you know that doggie smile!) and were tuckered out. They did not exhibit the doggie anxiety I've seen in my pets at other times of being outside the home and they were in excellent shape. I will not hesitate to use Pet Resorts of America again and have already booked for upcoming trips out of town.
The only concern I have is that I may not be able to book them fast enough as they fill up quickly for holidays. I guess the word has spread that they are just wonderful. Please consider them for your sweet furbabies when you need to take a trip out of town for work, vacation, or emergencies. They were wonderful and accommodating and very, very patient.
The folks at Pet Resorts of America are kind, friendly and professional. They offer great care and keep expert people on staff. Highly recommended.
Pet Resort is a happy place. We having been boarding our three dogs here for 3 years. When we drop off our dogs, they are happy to see the staff. They have a large run where my dogs can stay together. They always seem well cared for and happy when we pick them up. We would recommend Pet Resort for your next vacation!
We have been customers of Pet Resorts for over 5 years here in Nashville. The staff members are super friendly and always take good care of my golden retriever. They are always receptive, and the only place we trust to board our pet. The facilities are nice, and definitely recommend to anyone to use Pet Resorts to board your pet on your next vacation!
My first experience with Pet Resorts of America was a great one! We just moved here from out of state, so I was a bit nervous about finding a new place for my two dogs to go. The great reviews online along with two daily walks convinced me Pet Resorts of America was the place to go. Unlike our last boarding facility, the lobby area was clean and had no urine smell, and I felt like it wouldn't be a cramped environment. Although I didn't get a chance to walk through where my dogs would actually be staying, I felt very comfortable leaving them there for the weekend, and the staff was so friendly with my dogs immediately. I also really appreciated the doggie ""progress report"" we got when we picked them up! It made me feel like the staff really cared about my dogs and payed attention to them. I will definitely be bringing them back!
Rocket is a very highly strung and anxious dog. I had not boarded her in over six years. Needless to say I was anxious about leaving her for a week in a kennel. Pet Resorts did a great job of taking care of her. When I picked her up she was happy and clean. I would definitely take her back for my next out of town trip.
We just moved to the area and took our dog Lily there for a week. She loved it there and she is a very needy and highly anxious dog. They even sent us photos via email of Lily hanging out! We are definitely taking her back there for the holidays.
By the way, we live in Franklin, so it's about a 20-25 minute drive for us. Given the affordability as well as the quality of care, we don't mind a bit driving to their location.
I bring Gracie to Pet Resorts of America all the time and she loves it... She is a very energetic shep mix and they let her play with the other dogs. She has a really big run that she can go in and out in and when she comes home she is always happy and tuckered out. which goes well for me because after along trip its nice to come home with a relaxed dog so we can both take a nap...\r
We were very happy with the services at Pet Resorts! Knightley did not have a pleasant experience with kennels before so we were very surprised how fast he took to the people at Pet Resorts. When we picked him up he was happy and very clean. The friendly staff certainly made him feel at home during our long absence. Can't thank you enough!
After researching many kennels in the Nashville area we decided to try Pet Resorts of America and we are so glad we did. I was rather nervous leaving our gang but the staff was very reassuring, showed us a tour of the facilities which were very clean I might add and said I could call any time to check up on them which I did do a number of times. Our dogs came home smelling clean, they were happy and very relaxed. I am happy to say we will be back and our dogs have found their new home away from home.
This is the third time we have boarded our dogs with Pet Resorts of America. We have been very pleased with the facility. The staff have been accomodating with any requests that we have regarding our dogs. When we pick our dogs up it is evident they are well fed and cared for.\r
This place needs a club card for returning guests. We haven't had our two dogs anywhere else but are considering somewhere else due to the expense and lack of appreciation.
This was the fourth time boarding Jose and the first for Paco. Excellent staff and facilties. Highly recommend you use Pet Resorts for your next pet boarding.\r
Very professional and clean operation.
Pros: Great staff - well run
I took my 6 week old lab to this wonderful place. This is my first time owning a pet so I was very skeptical. These people took really good care of Miss Chloe because upon my return to pick her up after one week she grew a couple of inches. The Pet Resorts of America is a wonderful place and I will recommend this resort to friends and family. Thank you.
I took my 11 year old terrier for her first professional grooming, and I think she loved the experience as much as I did. They did exactly what I wanted, and she came out beautiful and happy. I would highly recommend this service. Pets and owners will be happy.
Pros: professional, knowledgeable, accommodating
Pet Resorts helps out our organization with low-cost boarding for dogs waiting to transport to rescue. We put Phoenix- a beautiful but terrified collie mix rescue- in Pet Resorts after his foster home fell through. Phoenix was so scared to go back to animal control, he laid down on the ground in the parking lot forcing us to drag him back in. I didn't have the heart to do it, so we put him in boarding at Pet Resorts. He was petrified when he first entered- refused to make eye contact, cowered in corners. We were worried it would hurt his chances for adoption! When we showed up 4 days later to take him to the dog park for an outing, he was clean, happy, anxious to interact with us. He did fabulous with the other dogs and people at the park, and went back to his ""room"" willingly that afternoon. He clearly loved the staff there, and was adopted 2 weeks later completely well-behaved and well-adjusted. I don't know what they did in there, but they saved this sweet dog's life!
Pros: Clean runs, great staff
I take my dog here all the time, and she loves it! I never worry about her when I am gone. GO PETS RESORTS OF AMERICA!
Pros: very good facilities, people there are friendly
I have recently begun using pet resorts services for boarding and grooming my precious pooch. I have a two year old Goldendoodle and he can be very hard to handle//groom. After using coutless other groomers and never getting a cut I was satisfied with, I deciced to give pet resorts a shot, as I have heard many great things about them! I cannot say enough great things about this place. The kennels is so clean and smells great! Not to mention the large runs and special packages they offer! The employees always greet you with a smile and make me feel very comfortable leaving my baby. They are very knowledgable and always willing to give a helping hand or word of advice. Annette, the groomer, is the best I have ever used! She is very knowledgable as well and has a very special way with the animals. I gave her a description of what kind of cut I wanted, and she knew exactly what it was that I had in mind! When I came to pick him up, I was astounded at how beautiful he looked! I love pet resorts and will be using them for many years to come!
Pros: Best Groomer I've Ever Used
Cons: Yet To Experience Any
They care about your pet.
Pros: Well Run.
We just moved here from Pennsylvania and needed to find a good kennel and groomer for our two dogs. After having the dogs do a ""test"" stay at Pet Resorts and receive their first grooming, we cannot say enough good things about this place. Annette, the groomer, is the best we have ever dealt with, and the service, boarding facility and staff were wonderful. We will definitely be back and recommend this place to everyone we know. Thanks for a great experience!!
Pros: Grooming, Personalized Service
Most cats really have a hard time when they have to adjust temporarily to staying in a different environment. The staff at Pet Resort here are so loving and take the time to play with and care for your cat. Every time, mine comes back home relaxed, non-traumatized and happy. Much happier than when I leave him with a pet sitter to check in on him twice a day in his own home--he just isn't left lonely at all in PR. A great investment. Doesn't get any better.
Pros: Great care for all pets
We have used this pet Resort quite a bit. We tried a few other kennels around town and there are some nice ones, but they are $$$$$. Our pups always come out smelling good and happy. We have also used them with some rescue dogs. One that we have in there now was very scared and stinky. We had them bath him and I have to say, in the two weeks he's been in there, he has turned around completely. He smells good, he seems happy and he is getting along with other dogs VERY well. He used to snap at all male dogs. Now he plays well with all dogs. Anyway, if you try them, I think you'll like what you see.
Pros: Great staff and rates
Cons: can't think of any cons right now
We have left our dogs there for several years now. This was the longest we have ever left them. They really seem to enjoy the place. I know our yellow lab loves playing with other dogs so he must get really worn out with the ""play time"" they offer. They both smelled fresh and clean when we picked them up. They had the bath and nail trim. The staff was very friendly and caring when they brought them out to us when we picked them up to go home. We will go back!!
Pros: clean, friendly, knowledgeable and caring staff
Our girl is always happy when I drive up there with her. \r
I know and do not worry about her. She is 12 now and I can tell if she has not had a good experience. She would show it in a very special way to me. I thank Pet resorts for taking such good care of her when we need them. \r
Sandy Laws Mom
Pros: Knowing our baby is being taking care of
Cons: Really don't have any
I recently boarded my elderly (22 yrs. old) dog and had a great experience with Pet Resorts. Due to her fragile condition, she requires special attention, and the staff was exceptional with her. We kept in contact frequently which eased my concerns. It was obvious they were genuinely interested and involved with my pet. The facility is impressive; very animal friendly. I only have positive accolades for the staff and facility.
Pros: Very caring and concerned for pets
Basically, I dropped my 13 year old dog, Scout, off on a thursday evening; picked her up on Monday at noon, rushed her to the vet and had to put her down 3 hours later.
When I picked her up, she was barely breathing, couldn't walk and unresponsive. Pet resorts didn't even give me a phone call when they admittedly noticed her acting strange and unable to walk the night before I picked her up.
My dog was not blind, or deaf, or sick or unable to walk when I dropped her off as they state in their response to a review another person posted, as this is not the first time this has happened. She was doing well for a 13 year old dog and in good spirits!
I wrote a review of my experience and what happened, but it was too many characters to fit on here. I feel it is important for other pet owners to understand the condition my dog was in when I picked her up; and more importantly how I was never notified of her being sick. PLEASE, before you take your best friend to Pet Resort's of America, read my story at:
augedoggie.wordpress DOT com
Pros: con: don't always use the food you send
Cons: Can't take care of elderly, won't call if pet is sick
I feel very comfortable leaving my dog and cat here. It is so much better than leaving them at the vet's kennels. The staff is kind, knowledgeable, and obviously petlovers. The dog wags her tail when we pull in and the cat doesn't go psycho - in that cat-like way. There's plenty of room and times for doggies to play and a cat ""playroom"" too.
Highly recommend the groomer - she knows what she is doing and is very fairly priced.
We are going back next weekend.
Pros: reasonable fees; great staff
We leave our dog here when we go out of town and we never think twice about it! They take such good care of Brewer and he is always happy to stay there. We also take him here to get groomed. The groomer here is really great and also priced really good! I would recommend Pet Resorts to anyone!
Pros: They really care about your pet and tend to their needs
peace of mind knowing your pet will be safe and cared for until you return! Staff personable and easy to get along with
Pros: great value, convenient operating times
I have used this both as a kennel and as a groomer. Everytime I drive up to the door, my dog gets excited and happily goes right in, so I know she has had a good experience there. I never worry about her when I leave her, and that means so much.
Pros: Friendly people, go the extra mile service.
I had never boarded my two dogs before. I just couldn't find any place that I felt comfortable leaving them. Every where else the cages looked so small. But at Pet Resorts of America the double cage with indoor and outdoor area looked big enough for my two (one medium sized and one large sized) dogs to be comfortable. I have boarded with Pet Resorts three times now. \r
The price is a little steep and the pick up charges for Sunday are a little extrem. Too bad it can't be a flat rate per hour charge or 24 hours is a day no matter what time or day the dogs are dropped off--that would make the place perfect!
Pros: Large cages with indoor/outdoor access
Cons: A little pricey
The staff at Pet Resorts of America are very friendly. They obviously love pets and it shows. We have been using their services for a year now and my dogs love to go. Their grooming department is wonderful too!! Duncan and Riley each give them 4 paws up!!
Pros: Exceptional Staff, My dogs hate to come home.
I just wanted to take a moment and Thank Heather for Helping me on my last visit with Snowflake in August. I was running late to the airport so I called Heather to ask if she could go on-line and print my boarding pass for me so I wouldn't miss my plane. Heather told me ""no problem"". It saved me so much time at the airport, I cannot tell you how much this helped me out! I really appreciate her being so kind and helpful.\r
I can tell a big difference when Snowflake stays at Pet Resorts of America. She comes home happy and I feel less guilty about leaving her while I am traveling on business. Heather treats snowflake as if she were her own Pet and that makes all the difference in the world to me. You have a great staff!\r
Thanks! Linda S
Pros: Very helpfull, great staff, clean, Snowflake loves it.
Pet Resorts of America is a great place to take our dog! She is always excited to go and my husband and I feel good about leaving her there. She gets ""pool time"" and receives a bath and nail trimming prior to being picked up. It is a little pricey, so be prepared when the bill comes. Overall, a great place to take your pet!
Pros: Cares about your pet, offers several pet services
Cons: pricey, charges you to pick up on Sundays
As longtime customers of Pet Resorts of America on Charlotte Pike, I appreciate your taking such good care of our dog Seger, and making him and us feel like he is getting professional and loving care at Pet Resorts. It is a pleasure to do business with you all and we look forward to many more visits to your facility. Seger loves it so much there! You are the BEST KENNEL in Nashville. \r
Thank you soooo much.\r
Pros: Professional and loving care. Great staff.
Cons: None so far. Seger has been to Pet Resorts for several years now.
I would like to say that I never worry about Sandy when she is there. They are very good to her and I can tell because there is no stress in her face. The bath that they gave her this time, they took extra care of her to get all the loose fur off of her that makes her hot. If you are thinking of leaving your pet with Pet Resorts please don't ever think twice about it. \r
They take care of them just as we would take care of company coming to our home. They are kind, loving and very thoughtful of our pets. I have left her 3 times now and I am sorry this is the only review I have left but, to make up for all the other times please understand this is our only child. If you trust anyone to keep your child while you are away this is the family to do so. Sandy is 11.5 years of age. \r
Again I would like to thank all who work at Pet Resorts for all they do for Sandy during her stay. She will stay many more times. Mrs. Pat L.\r
Pros: Freindly, caring staff. They treat Sandy like she is theirs. Sandy likes it there.
I recently contacted Pet Resorts to get training for my dog. I signed up for the training package which is outsourced to Nashville K9. A very professional and qualified trainer contacted me quickly and answered all my questions and promised I'd return to an obedient dog. I made the mistake with past trainers of going with the less experienced ones with no success. When people at the dog park comment on how well behave he is, I wish I could take credit but all credit is due to Ali at Nashville K9. It's so rewarding to have a well behaved dog!
Pros: Qualified and Professional Trainers
Although to all apperances the facility is clean and convenient, it is not a happy place. Have you ever noticed that the folks that work there never smile? And they are definitely not trained to handle elderly, special needs dogs. When we picked up our beloved border collie from their facility on a Sunday afternoon (after two days there) she was unable to walk at all and had obviously not eaten or had any water because she couldn't move. We had to have her put to sleep the next day. Absolutely heartbreaking! Why didn't they call me?
Pros: Not trained to handle elderly guests. No feeling of care or concern at this facility.
Cons: Easy to schedule, appears clean, convenient for travelers heading west, allow dogs' personal belongings.
After boarding our Border Collie ?Molly? with Pet Resorts many times, I think I need to add a review. We travel out of town 4-5 times a year and have left Molly with you all several times. Every time we do, we can tell she absolutely love staying with you. When we pull into the parking lot, she gets so excited. We can hardly hold her back as she breaks into a sprint for the door. Every time we picked her up, she's clean and happy. She is well adjusted when we get home and doesn't seem like her routine has been disrupted at all. We just got a new puppy, so next time we leave town, we'll need a room for two!\r
Many Thanks!! Kendall J.\r
Pros: I feel good about leaving her there because she enjoys her ""mini-vacations""
Cons: None so far. We have been using Pet Resorts several years.
I just wanted to let you know what a great job Nate did training Waldo. Before Waldo started his training he not only had some serious barking problems but other issues as well. Nate with his training program has helped Waldo to overcome these problems plus has trained him to heal, sit stay etc?.\r
I am really pleased with what Waldo got out of the boot camp training program and would highly recommend it to anybody that is having any kind of issues with their dog. Also, the staff was great to Waldo while he is boarding there. I would be the first to recommend the training program to anybody that would ask.\r
Jerry G and Waldo
Pros: Very knowledgeable about dogs, gentle training techniques.
Cons: None, very satisfied with the whole experience.
Sheba and Trey jump out of the car and can't wait to get into Pet Resort. It makes me feel a little badly. They never look back once I bring them in the door. Sniff sniff. But it's a great place for your dog. Be prepared to realize that your dogs might prefer hanging out at Pet Resorts than hanging out with you!
Pros: My dogs love to visit Pet Resorts! Have been going 4 years now.
I didn't end up boarding my dog with you, but I did have her groomed on Monday Feb 11. She is a golden-doodle & can be very challenging to groom, especially since I like to keep her long. I have had her groomed at several places in the area but have never been satisfied. Your groomer Cathy, did by far the best job I\r
have ever had done so far. \r
Thank you sooooo much!!\r
I will definitely be bringing Sylvia back for grooming, and have already referred you to several people for grooming.\r

Pros: Everything was Wonderful
Cathy F. has been grooming my dog for nearly six years. I would follow her anywhere. She is patient with my neurotic terrier. I would never have considered getting a second dog if I didn't have Cathy on my team. \r
She is gentle and concerned about both of my dogs ----- plus she does a great job keeping them clean and groomed. \r
When I board my dogs at Pet Resorts, Cathy checks in on them to make sure all is well. She always goes above-and-beyond her job. Cathy F. is a great asset to the Pet Resort ""family"". Elizabeth B.\r
PETS RESORTS IS AWESOME!!!! I HAVE BEEN BOARDING MY DOGS HERE FOR YEARS NOW AND THEY NEVER LET ME DOWN. I AM ALWAYS PLEASED WITH THE SERVICE. MY DOGS ARE ALWAYS FRESH AND HAPPY!!! I WOULD NEVER TRUST ANYONE ELSE WITH MY DOGS!!!! I HAVE TWO GOLDEN RETRIEVER'S AND THEY ARE A HANDFUL. I LOVE THEM DEARLY AND THEY LOVE TO STAY AT PET RESORTS BECAUSE THEY GET TO STAY TOGETHER!!!! I WOULD RECOMMEND PET RESORTS TO EACH AND EVERY DOG OWNER THAT I KNOW!!! STAFF IS GREAT ALL THE WAY FROM THE FRONT DESK TO THE GROOMER!!!! THANKS SO MUCH PET RESORTS FOR YOUR KINDNESS TO ME AND MY DOGS!!! I APPRECIATE YOU VERY MUCH!!
We just got back from our month long car trip from New York to Nashville to Abilene to New Orleans and finally back home. Fenway's stay at your facility was the best by far! He was clean, smelled great, and very happy when we picked him up after his stay with you folks. At the other facilities we boarded him he stunk of urine, his behavior was real jumpy, and he was so clingy for days after. It was very obvious he enjoyed his time with you and was very unhappy at the other kennels.\r
We wish you all were closer - how about opening up a facility here in Up State NY? I'll be your first customer!
I called to make reservations to board our two dogs and was quoted a price. I booked it for a Saturday night and was told I could pick our dogs up between 1-4:30 on Sunday. When I arrived to pick them up I was then informed I needed to pay an additional half fee because it was a Sunday pick-up. This was never explained on our phone conversation - not sure I would have boarded if this had been told in advance. \r
The service itself was fine. They were very sweet with our dogs, and they took good care of them. It is just the poor business practice - not being upfront that really upsets me.
Pros: sweet with dogs
Cons: not quoting price accurately - misled
I was able to board my two dogs together in the same kennel so they wouldn't be separated. Both of them are older rescue dogs (one 9 yrs old and one 14); I was nervous because they were never boarded before, and I had to be gone 5 days. The staff took such good care of them; they did not look stressed when I picked them up nor did they smell bad or have any smell at all. They were able to eat their own food as well. The staff was very understanding and caring!!! I definitely will use them going forward.
Cathy, the groomer at Pet Resorts of America, is one of the best in the city. Perhaps most importantly, she has a way with animals and is able to keep the most nervous dog calm and happy. She is fast, but she never cuts corners. She always consults with you to figure out exactly what you want, and if she brings your dog out and can tell you're not happy with something, she talks to you about it and if needed, takes the dog back and fixes it. Her cuts are sensational, and she takes care of the extras, too. My dog has NEVER had a knick or cut from Cathy, which is more than I can say for the groomers at a certain nationwide pet store chain (which also, by the way, charges exactly TWICE for a groom than they do at Pet Resorts). Cathy is so sensational that I followed her from her previous employer, extending my drive by 8 miles -- not a small thing when gas is near $3 a gallon! It is absolutely worth it because she's that good. Thanks, Cathy!
Pros: Great grooming, great prices, great person
