I have been suffering with acne problem, I tried EVERYTHING! I mean it, EVERYTHING! Nothing really works. I stumble into this place one day to check things out, and the facialist saw me, and she started chatting with me about my skin. In the end, she talked me into getting an acne treatment. It kind of worked after the first time. I went back. 5 treatment after, my face is clear, really really clear. I guess the products helped too. But seriously, if you are like me, try this place.

Note: she does try to push you with extra treatments, just decline them. I guess she has to do that. The cold mask helps tho, but it is another $50.

I just moved to New York last year, and I am still trying to find out about all the "hot spot". I am very used to spa services when I was in LA. And this place is so far the only place I found that can match what I had in LA.
Yes the Spa isn't as glamorous as some might ask for, but they do their job very well. The only thing that I have not tried is their massage. I am a regular to their mani pedi and waxing services. They were GREAT.

I've been there yesterday afternoon, as a place supposed to relax you, I never received such a bad welcoming, I didn't find any professionnalism at all in this place, cold, rude and dirt !

I am not sure of all the other peoples experiences, but I my (now ex) boyfriend and several of my fiends have had wonderful massages there. I recently received an amazing massage by Ben, and it is such a great value for NYC - unbelievable really. I would highly recommend Why Not!

The spa is not clean at all. Their massage therapist are very unprofessional and rude. They don't respect the client's personal privacy. The rooms are very cold and not inviting for a massage experience.

Last month, I came to NY and experienced my first time Only for men spa there. The person who did the massage for me was terrible. He tried many times to touch my butt and personal place. I felt very uncomfortable. He kept touching me. It is terrible men spa. The place is very dirty. I will never ever be there again.I never thought going to ends up my first time men spa like this. Not recommended at all!

As a spa enthusiast, I have been going to this spa periodically. Twice I went for the body scrub/massage combination and the practitioner was terrific. I left feeling energized and like a new person. Twice I had the hot oil massage after workouts and found the first one better than the second, but still worth my time and money.

The third hot oil massage was the worst. It was not a full body. It was some body rocking and some upper back work. The strokes were boring and not fully executed. The masseur spoke too much asking bizarre questions which I found distracting. The massage had no start to finish feeling. It felt like we were getting started the whole time. I kept waiting for the hot oil and it never came. On the way out, I found it rude that the masseur was watching me figure out his tip. I gave him a standard tip, but not my usual generous one. I told the receptionist that it was not a hot oil massage. The masseur said he didn't know that's what I wanted. The receptionist said he told him. He apologized. Mistakes do happen, but when asked which massage he gave me, he had no answer and did not know. It felt like a bad Chinatown massage.

In addition, I was in the first room which is a far cry from the other rooms in atmosphere. The lights were bright and it felt very clinical. In addition, there was no music until the end of the massage. The walls were so paper thin that I can hear the rest of the staff speaking loudly in the lobby.

I feel that I should have been offered more than an apology for this bad experience. I am now turned off by this place and left feeling ripped off and disappointed.

I gave a 3 star rating based on my overall past experiences, but this experience only deserves a half a star. I will not be back anytime soon and have an appt at Wellness Men's Day Spa as I am still looking for the massage experience I did not get. Never been there but hoping it will be a great experience.

I have been going to Why Not Men's Spa since it opened and I must say its a great place to go to relax and get a great massage. I have never been disappointed in all my visits. I would say that I have been going there once or twice a month for years. I enjoy getting a massage from Peter but all the guys there are great- Anthony

I went here randomly to get reflexology. What I got was a glorified foot rub. In fact, I think the Mexican that does my 17 dollar pedicure massages my feet better then this guy. There was NO reflexology. I have this done many times, he barely did any pressure points along my feet. This was a complete waste of money. Sorry.

They have great Brazillian waxings, and it is always nice to treat yourself to one of thier excellent manicures and pedicures. Best of all their pedicures do not use the machines that keep bacteria in them. Highly recommended

I have been a Why Not customer from the beginning and I must say, it is the best place for relaxation and grooming. The location, the ambiance, the staff - all top notch. Just really quick, one day my usual manicurist was unavailable. I chose a new one and in the middle of the pedicure, I was unhappy with his performance. In the blink of an eye (ok, a nod of my head to the Manager), he was swapped for a new one. What other spa does this, on the fly, no questions asked? I have never been pushed into purchasing services I did not want and the staff has always been overly accommodating, if anything.

If you're looking for quality service, a serene setting, and a wonderful staff eager to attend to your grooming needs, Why Not is the place to go.

PS: David was wonderful when he did my Manis, Pedis and Massages. And, Alan is just The Best, period.

Last month I went in and I had a Deep pore facial with Sammy! It was the best experience I have ever had. My skin has never been so incredibly smooth and soft! Everyone was complimenting me! Not only did I look great, I also felt great. I would recommend this to every mens who needs that revitalizing treatment! I've never been this satisfied!

I had a pedicure here once before years ago, and forgot what an exceptional job these guys did, until recently when I went back! First off, this spa provides a relaxing and friendly atmosphere. you feel miles away from the city. Secondly, the location is great! From the soothing foot massage, to the lotions and scrubs, my pedi got me lots of compliments. Most importantly, I love it.

I tried Why Not for the first time and I regret I ever went in there. David gave me a pedicure and was extremely rude. Granted I do not have the best feet, however that is why I pay 50 dollars to go to a professional place. He made me feel very uncomfortable as he was clearly talking about me to the staff in a foreign language. He huffed and puffed in the process and gave a horrible and quick massage at the end. I have been getting a pedicure every 2 weeks for the last 7 years and I never had this bad of an experience. When I went to pay the bill, I tipped him 6 dollars in cash (I should of gave him nothing for his attitude). He said "That is all you give, you are so cheap". Then I said that he did not do a good job. He said that if I do not have money don't come in here. The manager was not instrumental in mitigating the situation. This place has no class, and over charges for its service. Never go back again!!

I had heard a lot of great things about Why Not Mens Spa, so when I was having really blah skin I decided to see what all the hype was about. I was so impressed. I've suffered with moderate acne for ages and could never find a dermatologist or esthetician that could really help, but Sammy was great! She taught me new ways for acne control that I thought wouldn't work--and now they do! She sat me down and looked at my skin and helped me come up with something practical. Most dermatologists give some 12-step regimen just to make it look like they're doing their job, but Sammy helped give me practical advice that really works! And I didn't feel like she was judging me or my skin. She was so nice and helpful! The treatments were also great. I got a micropeel- a chemical peel and microdermabrasion, and acne treatment. I've tried everything on my skin-including microderm and chemical peels but the results have never come close to this. I was glowing for weeks! Overall, fabulous experience

This is my first time writting reviews, I am urge to share this to all the men in New York. I am a very hairy guy, I have been getting my body waxed for a long time. One day I walked by 19 street and saw Why Not, "Why Not?"

It was wonderful! It is by far the least painful waxing I have gotten! No really! I was thrilled! For all the hairy New Yorker out there, this is the place to go!

I have been an wellness mens spa for many time and I must say that Why Not Mens spa is located in chelsea. They have wonderfully beautiful decor and some of the best service you can find. I've been coming here regularly for the past month and I have seen them grow and evolve from a baby to one of the city's most up and coming spas. Normally I'm not the type to write reviews but in this case I feel that it is completely worth my time to say how offended I am about the claims of poor service at the spa. I have tried almost every service and I love the facials (especially with Sammy!!) they do wonders and trust me when I say my skin needs some work. Its not dermatologist quality but please ppl remember that it is a COMPLETELY HOLISTIC SPA which means NO CHEMICALS!!! The massages and body treatments leave me in a state of bliss every single time. I have never had a major issue that needed to be resolved. Any issues or complaints I've had have been completely recepted by the front desk staff. I have observed them with some of the most pretentious a-holes and I gotta tell you they do much better than I ever could. So here's the key to solving any problem: DON'T EXPECT IMPOSSIBLE SOLUTIONS!!

I am not a huge Spa person, but I like to go to different spa and treat myself once a month. I wouldn't say they are the best of all spa, but they are definitely one of my top 3. They have shower in all of their massage rooms, and the massage was excellent.

Would definitely go back to visit

A few friends and I have been loyal customers to Why Not Men Spa for almost a year now. They offer the most theraputic massages, and the enviorment is very friendly. And Guys, ask for Alan's special eyebrow shaping. This is a off the menu special, it usually cost a bit more, but it worth every cents. He shapes the eyebrows according to your face structure. It is amazing.

Congradulation on your 2nd location at Chelsea.

I don't know what happened with the last review but have not encountered any of the same problems and have been a client for some time now.

George as well used to wax me and charged less than normal even though he did one easy "peach fuzz"., strip on my back. Maybe that's why he isn't there anymore. i can't expect the other waxers to break the rules They work on commission and need to get paid in these times too. So I pay the few extra dollars and deal with it.
Chris always does my manicure and pedicure. He rocks. Takes his time and they look great. Brian or Troy do my massages and have always been amazing and professional. I've gotten at least 40 massages here over the years and I can't imagine anyone trying to do a "happy ending" here. Not that kind of place.

I do although agree with the previous reviews about the downstairs massage rooms. They are not very private. I found that I can request a room upstairs with an actual door. The place is always clean. The manager is always eager to please.

Overall, I have not had anything but good experiences here. I couldn't recommend this place more.

I go to New York quite often on business trip. Why Not Men Spa at Chelsea was introduced by one of my clients. The spa was beautiful and relaxing. The staffs were professional and friendly. I got the most relaxing massage ever. I would definitely go back there next time when I am in town, and I would recommend anyone to give this elegant spa a try in the hectic city.

Amazing Massage!
I think it was called SuiNa or TuiNa... anyway, its asian. It was the first time I have ever had it.
All I know is that I went in with a stiff shoulder, and I walked out feeling I just shed a hundred pound.
Best in NYC!

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

I am a skin care junkie! So, trust me on this...

Sammy (or Sammi, sorry I dunno how to spell your name), you rock!!! Thank you so much! The minute she started talking, I know this little lady is for real. She knows exactly what was going on with my skin, and gave me the MOST thorough cleansing ever (Seriously, no other can do wat she did). I am going back in 3 weeks for my Diamond Peel.

If you are srious about your skin and looking to get a true facial, go to Why Not and ask for Sammy. Worth every penny!

If you are just looking for a cheap, wateva so called "facial", like some other folks here... really, go to Chinatown.

Thank you Why Not!!

Last weekend was my first time at Why Not spa. I went with a friend and we both had a message and facial. My massage was good but my friend had a different therapist and complained that it was very gentle. Also the message rooms are really just curtained off parts of the basement and my friend saw a ro ach on the ceiling during his massage. My therapist told me that I should separate out his tip from the facialist, I guess so that they wouldn't have to fight over how to split it. But when I paid at the counter he was hovering behind the counter and watching what I wrote on the credit card slip. It was very unprofessional and rude. As for the facial...from the moment I sat down she was pointing out all the flaws on my skin and telling me all the things I should have done but were not included in the basic package. She could of course add them on for a fee and she had a whole fee schedule worked out. She pointed out 4 blemishes on my skin: one would cost $40 to extract, another was $20 and the remaining ones $10 each. A peel is another $30 and extracting on the forehead of cheeks was extra. She kept up her spiel for quite a while. I'm probably an idiot but I spent almost twice as much as I had intended. It turned out to be a very expensive treat. I had signed up for one of their "packages" because I thought it was a better deal but instead I was sold a litany of add-ons and left the spa less relaxed than when I entered. I will not be back.

Pros: quiet, convenient location

Cons: pushy employees, dirty

My partner and I experienced a lovely afternoon at Why Not Men's Spa this past Saturday. The staff was super friendly and very professional. We did the couples treatment - including manicure, pedicure, facial and the relaxing, romantic body treatment. The soaking, srubbing and rub down were all wonderful and just what we needed on a chilly day. Definitely will return.

You'll be one of many happy faces after getting a refreshing, rejuvenating facial at Why Not Men's Spa. This was my first experience and, after a month of visits, mold-like dark spots have been removed from my face. Hydration therapy and microderm abrasion are performed in relaxing comfort, and your consultation is completely confidential. A little costly, but well worth the expense. Ask for Sami to work her magic on your happy face.

I went to this spa last week and it was a great experience. My massage therapist was named Michael and he was the best i've had in the city. He was completely professional and friendly and did a great job on me. I would highly recommended this place to those men who love to pamper themselves. and ask for Michael!!!

I booked an appointment for my hubby because he was so stressed out. I signed up for body scrub, massage, and reflexology. He loved the scrub and reflexology, but the massage was not perfect. I think the reason is that we have been consistently going to another massage place for 2 years now, and nothing compares with that. Other than that, the services were excellent, staff pleasant, and ambience good. I will definitely book him for scrub and reflexology again, and highly recommend this place.

Lets see after having my girlfriend dump me, and my cat dying on me I was in a foul mood to say the least. However unexpectedly after coming into the store accidently I had a glorious experience. I proceeded to get a manicure, pedicure, facial and a 90 minute massage. I have to say my hands and feet never felt better/cleaner. And all my worries, anger slowly dissapated underneath the wonderful massage that I recieved. I then proceeded to get a facial by "Sammy" and I had to say it felt great and non-invasive. After finishing the process I can say categorically that my face truely felt "clean" for the 1st time in my life. I have to say that I wholeheartedly recommend this spa to family and friends. Bascially anyone who wants to be pampered, catered to, and/or to feel a little bit special. If everyone in NYC went to Why Not Men's Spa NY would be a nicer place. A+++

Last week I found this mens spa on citysearch, I didnt even know there were spas that catered to just men. I figured I would give it a shot. The owners Brandon and Alan were extremely courteous and inviting. I got my eyebrows waxed and manicure/pedicure. It was so relaxing that I got a massage as well. I thought these treatments would cost me an arm and a leg based on what my girl spends whenever she gets these treatments done, but it didnt burn a deep whole in the pocket. I would definately recommend any guy wanting to escape, relax and come out of it feeling rejuvenated to try this place and judge for yourself.

I just moved to New York, and I tried some spa in the city. First at all, I felt uncomfortable walked into spa that all of the women look at me strangely; second, the service is not realy met the sky-high price. Then I find the Why Not Men Spa in the city search, I gave them a try...... Now I really really loved this place, the staffs are so friendly and had done nice job on me. So far I had my facial, massage, and nails done here, I loved them all. They even used warm milk to soak my hand with Manicure. I highly recommended this place to those men who love to pamper themselves.
